Something about this with chris julian and dingdong in this era of oneyplays feels special. Like it gives of a certain vibe I can't describe like a beloved show that ended years ago and the cast comes back together one more time. They feel more well traveled and wiser a little more comfortable and confident in their own skin as they talk about stuff like no time has ever past between them
Agreed. It feels like they didn’t even miss a day since they were last on. Hopefully Chris blackmails them into coming back on again some day. Stoked for their game either way

I love the modern stuff, but the modern videos do feel oddly... Artificial. Like they're clearly having fun and they all work off each other really well, but the old boys really "feel" like a group of friends.

Man, DingDong’s perspective on this whole mess is so alien to me, no pun intended. Like, he claims to have hard evidence that objectively proves the abuse and blacklisting he endured but doesn’t want to release it because he hates drama. So instead of putting the drama to bed he just knuckles under and lets it linger in the air for people to speculate on?
Not saying he’s even wrong or anything, it’s just so completely opposite to what I would do in his shoes.
@@alexanderfreeman3406 I'm not saying if I know his situation or how he feels. But to me it actually seems pretty "simple", he is not at a good place mentally and is extremely conflicted about it himself. He doesn't want drama, but (for good reason) he can't just be quiet about how much he and Julian had to go through. I hope that he and Julian make enough to get him a therapist, so he can tell all (and I mean ALL) that he actually wants to, without being afraid of the consequenses.
Again, I don't know if this is correct, but his habit of streaming and venting to then regret it and delete seems like a call for help. If he doesn't have a professional to lean on, I can understand why his feelings would overrun.
Just saying again, I have no idea if it's correct. I hope he gets better, him and Julian have gotten me through a lot of hard times. I am really sad that he chose to completely disappear, but to be honest I think it was the right call. In his situation I don't think he had enough positives from being a public figure to outweigh the negatives.
I actually have screenshots saved from that video of a couple frames because I liked the style so much, but other than that, I don't have much else. I also have a screenshot of the ding dong model someone made for his 3D movie maker contest video. It's really a shame, it was a fun animation, but like others have said, he deserves his privacy. I hope both he and Julian are living their best lives and having fun making games together, and I hope they're in a better headspace.

I really do like it when Ding Dong goes full dev mode during playthroughs like this, it's really enjoyable. Sure it's not funny, but it's still very fascinating and gives us some insight onto how his funky brain works analyzing games on a blueprint level if that makes sense.
Yiik was amazing for that too, both ding dong and Julian are so fucking smart, hearing their insight made that series so enjoyable
It made their episodes feel more like a podcast than anything. And that ain’t a bad thing either. I can rewatch these easily after a while because of the stories and background knowledge. Not knocking modern oney vids as those are also funny but these DD&J episodes remind me of early eps with the new folks: cozy.

19:35 the original Japanese version has the theme as "anime" but they changed it to "sci-fi" in the English version which doesn't make sense since there's so many clearly non-scifi games particularly the ninja ones

I remember on a sleepy cast Chris kinda saying he hates those kind of low effort let's plays and wanted to design something genuinely fun to watch. The variety of editors with that same principle on this channel has made it last imo.

Someone put on Teeny Tiny and the Witch Woman at my 2nd grade Halloween party at school back in 2004. I have no idea how it was allowed. It gave me nightmares for years.
