Most people that think this sounds bad aren't realizing that there's a lot more going on in a final mix. Bass is very important, guitar tracks need to be mid focusd, plus there'll be some post EQing/filters going on. (I'm no expert, but slowly getting better...)
@CitsKKas there's a lot of factors to take in. the biggest thing on this video is that it's not stereo. having one guitar left and one right makes the biggest difference. making sure your mics in the sweet spot is important. i put mine around 2 inches away from the speaker right in front of where the cone meats the dust cap with the mic facing straight to the dust cap. once you get that down you should'nt need to worry about eq and compression much. the context of drums and bass is important to.
when you record, your dry guitar tone will sound completely different then the tone you'd play with live. Certain frequencies need to be cut or boosted when recording for the track to sit in the mix properly. The tones sound different alone, but in a mix they sound brutal
I know the tech involved,my Kustom is what infinium is based on.You can still bias the auto biased amps.Its a matter of changing resistors or caps in the circuit.not knocking bugera in anyway.Almost all amps come cold biased from the factory so that they dont exceed factory tube specs. Personal choice for me is a low gain pre-amp tube since when they cascade its way more musical and so I get more power tube breakup when its cranked. I almost bought a 333xl but fell in love with the Kustom
@CitsKKas eq it's everything, finding a perfect eq to make work guitar and drum together it's the key, every instrument have it's own frequencies, the hardest thing it's find the sound you like from an instrument and be able to recognize it in the whole mix without compromises. Try to google "drum frequencies" and play with eq on both guitar and drums, if you follow this "standard" method you will see the difference. Also band compression it's important, search for it.
@Distortionize Indeed! I don't do so well with screamers or od/distortion pedals, i tend to go with raw power! I still go to school too, but the 333xl is definitly a good choice for you if you're not able to afford any high end amps of course!
I would really like to know Ola's honest opinion on Bugera amps after this video. I get lots of opinions from people who own them and think they amazing cuz its theirs, and people who hate them because theirs broke. This guy plays a lot of amps I would really value his opinion. I want to buy one of these but am still hesitating.
Sound-wise every Bugera I've tried have been solid. I haven't toured or gig with one so I have no idea how they fare when it comes to build quality. I haven't had any issues with the ones I've borrowed.
Well hopefully they will fix it and change it for you. Are you sure you didn't change it to a different power tube mode, or change the impedance selector? If you changed the impedance that would burn it out for sure. Which amp was it?
Yeah, please make a tutorial 'bout mixing!! I have a Mesa Boogie Mark V, and your mixes with it are just AWESOME (the dream theater cover, the playtrough and the scarpoint tone, all of them!)
Still would have it checked I have a Kustom Double Cross and it is self biased and still needed rebiased. Also the output transformer on most amps is designed to be in favor of one kind of tubes over another so I would have that checked as well to see what is the most energy efficient tube for your amp.
not the new infiniums. the are self biasing on each individual tubes so u can put any combo of tubes in and even mix match them. i run two jj 6l6 and two groove tube el34's and tong-sol preamp tubes. the best of both world and sounds amazing
u got me there. i dont know much about it, but what i've read and this head i will put up against any out there. i think you first need great pickups to convey what ur fingers are saying to the amp. my pups cost almost as much as my head. i play porters. the first head i had was cold, i could feel it, but this one is much different. maybe i got lucky? lol!!! i need to buy a meter. ur right!!!! i wud love to check it now
@Distortionize I really can't compare the 333xl to the recto - i can't really seem to get the clarity out of the 333xl, as oposed to the recto. Well it's preference ofc, i'm glad that you like the amplifier :)!
its new infinium technology. read about it. there is no way to bias this head. it constantly monitors the tubes at all times and it bias' them individually. pretty cool shit
@MyGreatFall Yeah, its not as clear and tight as the recto, but duude, we speak of a RECTO :D I still go to school so i have to stick to the cheaper 333xl, with a screamer i can get the sounds i want out of it (:
I had a few of these heads, they sound good BUT, the first one I got didn't work right out of the box and when I sent it back the second one they sent me lasted 2 weeks before quiting on me. So I quit being cheap and got a peavey, the thing with that is I played a 6505+ and a JSX through the same cab I have at guitar center and ended up getting the jsx. The 6505 is deff more brutal sounding but the jsx is do much more clear, the jsx stock sounds like a 6505 with a OD, I use a Maxon 808 in front
I think it would be cool if you did two of four tracks with the Bugera sort of like how some bands throw in a more classic sounding amp in their tracks to thicken it up and make it more (I want to say futuristic lol I dunno - PROG! that's it).
You should test one of our polish manufactures, MG Amplification, those are gr8 amps! ! ! I'v got MG Fendmess and it really sounds like fuckin' hell on red channel at modern and vintage also !
@Distortionize Man, do you really think that the 333xl infinum sounded anything like the rectifier - i couldn't get a single "stunning" tone out of that amp. I was playing a custom jackson kv2 diamond plate, emg 81 in the bridge, did some quick recordings, but it just didn't cut it for me! I'm glad you seem to be satifised with it though!
@donbehatin It has to do with the amp itself, it happens to my bugera too. Needs proper biasing, volume up to 3 more or less to sound punchy and not fizzy. And if you could put brand new tubes instead of the chinesses. Then you got a inyourface amp, precise and punchy, but without leaving the brutalness these amps are known.
I've had a 6262 for 2 years and no problems. I play live once a month. They are solid heavy amps. Those who wouldn't gig with them, why? do you have one? have you tried it? Are you an ape? do you break stuff often?
you have to read about it. i know this one doesnt have any place to bias it. its not a fixed bias or a full self bias, its infinium biasing. i know my other 333xl didnt really get meaner when u turned it up like a marshall does, but the new one i have does!!! its hotter than my old one.i had the old one retubed and rebiased too and the new one is still hotter. when its not cranked it sounds caged up.
I don't know if you'll see my comments but, can i use this amp for my 7 strings and play metal like " Love and Death " ( Brian head welch band ) can i have their sound with da amp? ( sorry for my english i'm belgian =) )
I got this far. then flash crashed... btw could you put up tabs to the feared songs online? they're frikkin awesome. oh and that one scarpoint song you did too.
Have you had any problems with your Bugera's as far as reliability issues go? I wonder how the NEW & Improved Bugera 1960 is going to sound? Great video.
I dunno about getting EXACT tone, but maybe somewhere similar. You're usually never gonna get that precise tone when you wanna that certain band or song's tone. Are you trying to do a cover, then its quite understandable, but even covers don't need to have the exact tone. Maybe a bit similar,but not necessarily exact.
Hey, could you recommend a good tube amp, for around $800, that doesn't lose tone at high volumes? and please, please...let it have a dealer in the US.
@dontbannme2540 @feardse I'm about to buy me the 333xl and I'm wondering what 4X12 box I should buy with it? Maybe a Peavey or Marshal? Thanx for any help/info!
it even has lights on the back to tell u when each tube has ended its life so u just replace that one tube instead of them all. they last 20 times longer this way thus making it damn near as cheap as owning a solidstate.
Most people that think this sounds bad aren't realizing that there's a lot more going on in a final mix. Bass is very important, guitar tracks need to be mid focusd, plus there'll be some post EQing/filters going on. (I'm no expert, but slowly getting better...)

@donbehatin that was just the way the microphone was set up at that time!
@fearedse alot of people have forgotten how important rhythm is in songs, keep the good work up Ola
I know the tech involved,my Kustom is what infinium is based on.You can still bias the auto biased amps.Its a matter of changing resistors or caps in the circuit.not knocking bugera in anyway.Almost all amps come cold biased from the factory so that they dont exceed factory tube specs. I love your videos man, thanks for testing all that stuff and keep that great work!
Really digging the tone!
Yes!!!!! Been waiting for this one.

@kwiatekzgniezna rhythm for sure. Hate soloing :D
@Distortionize Indeed! I don't do so well with screamers or od/distortion pedals, i tend to go with raw power! I still go to school too, but the 333xl is definitly a good choice for you if you're not able to afford any high end amps of course!
Smells like Testament riffs. Love it.
@donbehatin Some part of that fizzness is called Crossover distortion, and its caused because tubes are not fed well (cold tubes).

i had one and after one day it broke. NOT SO GOOD
How long ago was this?
Max Savino i had it 25 august. the day after i switched it to 60 watt. suddenly nothing an a stange sound. i send it back ammediatlly
Well hopefully they will fix it and change it for you. Are you sure you didn't change it to a different power tube mode, or change the impedance selector? If you changed the impedance that would burn it out for sure. Which amp was it?

@SoadOwnsUrFace orange cabs, my friend! heaviest cabs ever, in tone aswell as physical!
tightness is more about settings anyway beside this amp is like a third of the price of a recto so its win win
true, but not all of it. some amps have a gain structure that remains muddy, however you twist the knobs.
not the new infiniums. the are self biasing on each individual tubes so u can put any combo of tubes in and even mix match them. i run two jj 6l6 and two groove tube el34's and tong-sol preamp tubes. the best of both world and sounds amazing
It's amazing how much a simple low pass filter will help to clean up your signal without raping your tone.
@CitsKKas Amp's EQ and cabinet's mic placement can change very radically your sound, so try experimenting with both to achieve the the sound you want.
love these amp demos
YES! Thanks, Ola!
u got me there. i dont know much about it, but what i've read and this head i will put up against any out there. i think you first need great pickups to convey what ur fingers are saying to the amp. my pups cost almost as much as my head. i play porters. the first head i had was cold, i could feel it, but this one is much different. maybe i got lucky? lol!!! i need to buy a meter. ur right!!!! i wud love to check it now

A boost would take this amp to the next level for sure. Its honestly not bad at all.
I have one and i use a fortin 33 and an abominable hellmouth
It’s absolutely insane
its new infinium technology. read about it. there is no way to bias this head. it constantly monitors the tubes at all times and it bias' them individually. pretty cool shit
@CitsKKas - He's more than likely using recording settings that's why.
@MyGreatFall Yeah, its not as clear and tight as the recto, but duude, we speak of a RECTO :D
I still go to school so i have to stick to the cheaper 333xl, with a screamer i can get the sounds i want out of it (:
@CitsKKas he kinda sould his soul for that sound. it´s fucking superb.
I had a few of these heads, they sound good BUT, the first one I got didn't work right out of the box and when I sent it back the second one they sent me lasted 2 weeks before quiting on me. @SicilyJoel i order the combo and i cant wait !!!!! i hope it sounds good ! sure it will better from my modeling zoom fire 30 !!!!! :P
these raw vids are awesome muche better for gettin an impression of the real sound!
@warforgeqt HARLEY BENTON G212 VINTAGE. 200 euros, 2x12 celestion vintage 30s, killer tone. nuff said
awesome tune!
@MyGreatFall For just 500€, compared to a 2300€ Rectifier, i really really dig the 333xl! :D
This is awsome!! You're a God of metal))
Thank u for test the bugera man! Thanks! :D
I think it would be cool if you did two of four tracks with the Bugera sort of like how some bands throw in a more classic sounding amp in their tracks to thicken it up and make it more (I want to say futuristic lol I dunno - PROG! that's it).

From what I have heard from my amp tech all of the bugera amps need a bias mod and re-tube but so do the peavey equivalents.
@DemmelitionMan95 dude check his videos, he did already
0:43 is just fucking killer riff
@Distortionize Man, do you really think that the 333xl infinum sounded anything like the rectifier - i couldn't get a single "stunning" tone out of that amp. i had one a little while ago it died on me! but it was a dam good amp! i think they have nearly perfected it now! :D
you have to read about it. i know this one doesnt have any place to bias it. its not a fixed bias or a full self bias, its infinium biasing. i know my other 333xl didnt really get meaner when u turned it up like a marshall does, but the new one i have does!!! its hotter than my old one.i had the old one retubed and rebiased too and the new one is still hotter. when its not cranked it sounds caged up.
@TheMetalhead804 It's what you think it would be... when a guitar isn't cooked
you should do a video on the bugera 333xl cuz idk if i want to go with that because its cheaper or save longer and get a tri rec
ever thought of demoing the Bugera 333xl Infinium?
I just played one in the Musicstore, very rectifier-ish sound. If you demo it, ill buy it! :D
Damn you convinced me to buy this amp:D
sounds cool! the mic placement sounds out though! try a few a different recordings with the mic in different positions
PLEEEEEAAAAAASE do the 5150 II next D: that or ENGL Gigmaster. those songs are the best!!
professional.
not you best playing as you said but still way better then loads of people in famous bands! :-)
@dontbannme2540
Oh, I've heard Randall is good.
Thanks for the info man, gotta look it up
I don't know if you'll see my comments but, can i use this amp for my 7 strings and play metal like " Love and Death " ( Brian head welch band ) can i have their sound with da amp? ( sorry for my english i'm belgian =) )
Sweet!
great video ola,see you on facebook
@SicilyJoel sure dude i will post for it :D
you can still bias the amp auto bias, fixed bias, or other. My amp is the same and still needs biased.
I got this far. then flash crashed... btw could you put up tabs to the feared songs online? they're frikkin awesome. oh and that one scarpoint song you did too.
Have u planned on testing maybe some of the new Blackstar Series 1 Amps?
i hope one day im abel to play like that xDD BRO UR FREKIN AWESOME
Have you had any problems with your Bugera's as far as reliability issues go? I wonder how the NEW & Improved Bugera 1960 is going to sound? Great video.
I want to hear raw guitar videos for the DARs.
Hey Ola!
Mind doing a test on the 333 or 333XL? Would help me out alot!
Greetings from Finland!
And on top of it all I got the jsx at a floating price. $800 compared to almost 1200
I dunno about getting EXACT tone, but maybe somewhere similar. You're usually never gonna get that precise tone when you wanna that certain band or song's tone. Nice tone from the bugera,fearedse what is your opinion about the Bugera 6262-212
Any plans on testing the Kemper amp?
Keep up the awesome work :)
what was the settings for the ryhtms part please ?
@v8metal *sold
wow, what a difference between the 2 vids in the solo part.. in this one the gain seems so low!
omg at 1:52 sick solo
ahhhh
Great vid! Can you post which settings you used on the amp?
Hey, could you recommend a good tube amp, for around $800, that doesn't lose tone at high volumes? and please, please...let it have a dealer in the US.
just for fun... ab und zu braucht man sowas. grüsse aus der schweiz ;)
Have you ever played an Ampeg VH-140c or an Ampeg SS-150?
@fearedse Man, tell me how did you record it? It's sounds fucking awesome.
So is it the version of this song before mixing and all other space technology sound processing stuff , am i right ?
@dontbannme2540
@feardse
I'm about to buy me the 333xl and I'm wondering what 4X12 box I should buy with it?
Maybe a Peavey or Marshal?
Thanx for any help/info!
@p3dsman Nah I wasn't. But i'm actually getting a 6150 today instead.
:D
Do a tutorial on mixing!
Why does it sound so bad here and so good in the mix?
I have almost the same hardware and i still cant make a good mix
hey could you do a mesa boogie mark iv raw video? :o
I get that but what if you want a cold biased tube or hot biased tube. You need it rebiased to achieve the sound that you want.
Video name: Mesa Boogie Mark IV and drum game improvisation
it even has lights on the back to tell u when each tube has ended its life so u just replace that one tube instead of them all. they last 20 times longer this way thus making it damn near as cheap as owning a solidstate.
@p3dsman Oh and I meant 6505.
-_-
@SuperZoro101 why to me it sounds like sh*t when i low-pass to 7000hz and good enough when i do on 12000hz? (inside the mix)
Do you have any tabs for the songs your playing? Cause if, your could post them on your website. Would be awesome ;D
You have to multi-track your every guitar tracks. then it sound more kickasser than your double-track songs :) Ola multi-track guitars to real mix
@000Mariat000 framus. cheap and godly!
@dontbannme2540
if money wouldn't be an issue, I'd probably buy me a Krank cab^^
But frankly, it is, soo... how much is a Vader?
If only I had the money to buy that kind of Marshall amp. ):
Sorry, meant to put Mesa Boogie, haha sort of reminded me of a Marshall.
*****
I don't understand.. He is testing a Bugera 6262, the Mesa in front of the video is for the cab ^^.. If I'm not wrong ofc :)
First 10 seconds was Tony iommi symptom of the universe
