@xXThe Baroness Annabelle LeeXx yeah I totally agree especially when it comes to gothic metal but I surpose insnt all lost dark wave industrial and doom(think draconian) so on the theme still lives even though these genres take away from the poetry.shame we wont be seeing any gothic metal bands pop up anytime soon since mortal love. The bright side is at least RUclips is a option even if live isnt. Gothic metal believe it or not is the reason I got into metal in the first place. Going to see birthday massacre in November 😁
@xXThe Baroness Annabelle LeeXx you have a rather similar train of discovery although night wish was first evenescence(I get a load of flack for liking these guys oh well) 2nd then theatre of teagerdy then stumbled across early sirenia and then birthday massacre I have to agree the elitism make zero sense considering all of rock's history comes from what was considered pop in 60s and 70s I never really aligned anywhere as I also like things like drum n bass trance and grime reggae but yes core I'd be metal . I know nothing of poetry but that doom sense is incorporated into my school of thought which would be considered empirical pessimism (makes sense considering I'm a physical scientist chemistry mainly) but I will always love the aesthetic of the genres you listed which explains why I'll always have most of these bands as my go to. anything with symphonic qualities is always great 😁 ended up getting on friend addicted to it in the end and sins of thy beloved 😍 I'll agree though there is definitely something somewhat romantic and alluring about the aesthetic even to me with a somewhat cold detached empiricist nature.
