Larry "wait a minute! You're not cutting nothing out! What are you talking about!". Priceless. What an educator. Love these videos with Larry. Holy heck! Josh is growing up fast. Keep the videos coming. Love them all!
Glad u enjoy it , it’s fun working w Larry and body work vids are cut , weld grind repeat . Doesn’t make for much of a vid unless Larry is doing a specific panel repair how to . Thank you for always checking out the vids Al , I appreciate it
J it’s coming along really nicely. I two learned this lesson the hard way replacing the pans on my Ghia. I assumed, incorrectly, that all the pans would be made to fit properly and that it would be easier to do the repairs with the body on. Live and learn my friend.
Thank you , yeah I had some pans and channels from other car buys so I just used them . That once side was really bad for fitment , I didn’t show how much we cut off
Nice work boys. My first car was a 54 bug, with the flipper turn signals. Four engines ( Sears reman $350) and 265,000 miles later, I sold it for $350 to go to college. Last engine had 40 hp, could almost go the highway speed limit!
Looking good back in the day I used to do all that stuff restored quite a few of them. When I did the floors I had a CP 714 air hammer that work great for that are used a long bed and a chiseled everything off real nice glad to see you guys are saving another one right on.
Hey Jason and Larry, need to put an L on the car during the revival.....It means 'Learner'. You are required to display these if the vehicle is being used to teach someone to fit, weld and repair" 😅🤣😂. Thanks for sharing this with us guys. It amazes me to see a vehicle in that rough of shape being brought back. John here, from the back-roads of Northeastern Tennessee.
How bout it guys, how to promote Larry Canova, his own channel, I mean, come on, this guy can teach in minutes, thousands to do better, be better. I totally love it! Thank you Jason, you gold miner you.
I'm all for it and we've talked about it , but having a channel is very time consuming . Responding to all the great comments left is a PT job itself :)....add 4-8 hours editing / uploading on a 30 minute vid and Larry would have no time to do what loves to do , save cars :))).
Well the panels were free so why not use them? This has been interesting watching you two have a joke and laugh. If you can't have some fun while working then you may as well just give up and go home! All great Jason and Larry thank you both. 👍👍
Jason, this project is going well. I know you're learning a lot from Larry which will only improve your skill set for future projects. Both you and Larry say buy the best replacement sheet metal you can. Any recommendations for a source for that metal? I'm working on a '71 beetle that's going to need one heater channel and both cross members. I'd rather invest in the best metal. Hope you can help with a recommendation.
DO YOURSELF A FAVOR....drill some holes in the new heater channels right next to the nutcerts and reweld them. they are known for snapping off when you tighten the heater channels after you install them. also paint inside them best you can.
WW pans are going in my next car . Larry uses WW pans , and I’ve also heard great things about them . As for channels I’m going to use Klassic Fab on my next car .
@@5150mxVW i enjoy that you even asked him to help and that you stepped in to learn. You may do some strange things on your channel BUT I KNOW that you ARE LEARNING. That hands on will go a long way with you. I forsee you stepping up your game. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Yeah well next vid I’ll show every plug weld , grind every one , reweld / fill them again , Show all 500 test fits and trims …it gets kinda monotonous and when I’m actually working ( rare lol ) you get working and not messing with camera tripods , on off , move angle . Yes it’s a balance but the work vids are much easier when Larry is demonstrating a how to and I can create the video from behind the lens and do the edit . Thank you for the feedback , I do appreciate it and agree with you … I know some of the last 58 vids I kinda made 3 out of one
Larry is awesome, such patience and knowledge. You have a good teacher Jason.
Hi Deborah, yes he is :))). Yes I do :))). Thank you
Cool Formula V in the background. Great to see you cranking away with the help and advice of a real heavyweight.
Yes ! We thank you

It’s starting to come together looking good Jason and let Larry know how much how much we appreciate him keeping you on the right track.
We thank you Marty , and thank you for always checking out the vids …much appreciated
That's the definition of patience and perseverance right there.
That bug is coming along very nicely. You are going to have one sweet ride. Thanks for the video. Keep them coming!!!

Should body work videos be this funny? Absolutely loving the banter between you and Larry

It's really cool watching you guys doing such extensive rust repair on that bug. Keep up the great work!
We thank you JP, off to Larry's Saturday for B pillar and inner fender wells
Please keep it coming. I enjoy watching the progress.

Super cool channel! So informative, I’m trying to soak it all in before I tear apart my 68!

Great video. Enjoyed watching.
We thank you
That looked like a lot of work and at times frustrating...but 1 step closer 😊
Very nice projects. My mother in law has a 73 convertible VW bug in her garage stored away hope to talk her out of it sometime ❤
Your project is coming along nicely 👍🏻.
We thank you

I've got a nice 56 Oval project Larry needs, Problem is, it's a long drive to Calgary to buy it.
Not Larry approved but Larry supervised. Larry needs a youtube channel.
Good luck!
Thank you Pete
Great series. 😊

Great video guys

YES the WOLFSBURG WEST ONES are that much better
Well no $ht Mike :)
Hello there!
Looking forward to seeing this back on the road!
Who are you planning on getting to remake the interior for it?
Thank you , we might have something OG for then interior …via Larry
Awesome!
If you need new stuff. West coast classic interiors in Oregon has the most correct panels and seat covers around.

I didn't use a 1/2" impact gun so they are all tight and installed :)
@@5150mxVW Neither did I and 2 broke on one of my heater channels. Now i weld them all. except for the classic fab ones. they are usually fine.
Jason, would you recommend the Wolfsburg West pans and heater Chanel’s

Muito legal 😎👍✌👏👏👏👏
We thank you
I live where today's F1GP was run. I would have paid more attention if it was a Formula Vee race. I want an early one.
Sweet
As entertaining as it is, I’d never buy a car from Jason!
Never buy a car I worked on , but you’d get a great deal on a car I’ve rescued 😎
Hi Jason how many cars have you got now in your collection and bikes so when is part two coming for the yz and the other bikes mate
Do you have any video of Larry racing that car?
👍👍👍👍
Hello mate
Still not Larry approved. 😊
Not even close haha😁

Did it even pass the the lead an powder test ?!!
👍
Why not use a modern fender adhesive to seal the pans rather than the original style ‘rubber’ seal?
you're NOT going anywhere near that vw race car! LOL!
What's Larry's last name? Was trying to read it off race car? Think might have the same last name
Like seeing how you take a rotted out VW and give it another life. Crack on gear head!
We thank you Ken
@@5150mxVW Still would like to get a VW pick up. However they are awfully proud of them.
Why not get good sheet metal and save those for next project
I’ll get good sheet metal for my next good car 😆
😂 12:00 doing good
VW logo never had that stupid looking split between the letters. Mandela Effect. So much more important than this video.
? lol
What are the best brand floor pans?
WW
Wolfs West

At what point does a made in Germany bug become a made in China/Brazil bug, assembled in USA? 🤨❤️☺️
Most are Mexican
Oh good point. China/Brazil/Mexico parts ☺️
It is spelled " VW " .
Good video 👏🏻👍👍👍👍 thanks!
