In this video, I provide 15 tips for beginners to help them improve in the early game in Baldur’s Gate 3. This may become a two part video.

Tell me your favorite multiclass combos!
My current favorite class combination is Warlock 5 with Pact of the Blade and then going with Paladin, preferably Oathbreaker. You get the double attack benefit at level 5 of Warlock, and your weapon damage scales with CHA as does your Paladin spells.
Sacred Flame is a DEX Save for your enemy, but Fire Bolt is NOT an INT Save, it's a spell attack roll that scales off of Shadowheart's INT. It is notable that it doesn't scale off of her WIS (her primary class casting skill) because she gets that cantrip from her race, So Sacred Flame does actually have a better chance to do damage than Fire Bolt as long as the enemy doesn't have bonuses to their DEX, because Shadowheart's INT based spell attack roll isn't that great compared to her spell Save DC the enemy has to roll against for the DEX Save.
I phrased it incorrectly in the video, but yes, Fire Bolt is based on INT and not on DEX.
Early on however, most enemies have sufficient DEX and the chance to hit with Sacred Flame in comparison to Fire Bolt is noticeably lower. This can be supplemented later on with increased WIS score and decreasing an enemy DEX save value.

Very helpful and easy to understand! Loved that you showed examples. Definitely helpful for someone who knows little about the game. The complexity of this game is great. But also makes it a bit overwhelming to noobs like me. This helps clarify things.
I tried to break down some important concepts into easy-to-understand pieces, because I know it can be daunting to fully grasp at first and a lot can be missed.
@@Lebensmude For sure. There are a ton of things I tend to miss in games, which may seem obvious to others, but I miss. You had a lot of those in this video. Which help transform me from being a low/mid player to being a more advanced higher end player. For example, looking into an enemy and seeing all the different aspects of stats, buffs, debuffs, etc. makes the game so much more enjoyable and easier once you understand and master it. Which a lot of guides tend to skip over.
