Jump is very shaky right now, they need to find their next big thing asap.

    Self-publishing is what manga artists should do.

    • @freddyaxebear7547
      @freddyaxebear7547 3 месяца назад

      While it is possible it would also be a massive headache for the authors if they went that route. If they do it 100% by themselves they would have to work with and pay up front several companies ranging from printing the books to advertising their series. Another route is some companies do self publishing in that you pay them a fee up front and they will handle printing and advertising, so while easier you gotta figure out cost effectiveness as they typically offer different tiers of service. You can either go cheap but they make cheap books and barely advertise it, or you blow a ton of cash for better service. Also you gotta keep on top of them just to make sure they are doing their share of the work. The more viable route would be to go through a web source that hosts series and lets you collect payments, think Tapas or Web Toon. Depending on the site it could be free for you to post, they just ask for a share of the revenue. If you make enough from the series you can publish physical copies but typically you do include a notice on each book that references the original hosting site. Self publishing is an option, but its a lot of give and takes that some people would rather put all their focus on making the series rather than busy work of selling the series itself.

    I'll be upset if this is the case. Undead Unluck is the one series in Jump that's been doing great set-up and payoff for its final arc in the way that people wanted for MHA and JJK as Fuko continuously grows as MC.
    Now, if this is all according to plan, this also works to the story's very unorthodox nature now that Master Rules antagonists are unbound (though having "Speedrun" as a title is wild). The story is capable of accomplishing a lot in chaos and really Julie is the only concern (can just put her in a situation where ahe has to clutch) as everyone else is on board. All the execution in the final arc so far was preparation within the characterization and resolutions, so moving all their members and pieces shouldn't be a monumental task. There's 8 rules to run through but if they aren't all 1v1s, it won't take long. I just wonder how that god will be handled.

      I doubt it. I remembered something. Yoshifumi doesn't need to do a training arc. They have the artifact remember. That thing turns on everyone gets their old memories back and a massive power up.
      Dude probably wants to end his series his way but still wants to make the deadlines. So. He made an object specifically for that scenario if it ever came up. REMEMBER.

  • @etccte1
    @etccte1 3 месяца назад +74

    Undead Unluck always had a fast pace. On the previous chapter we skipped over the downtime after the end of the previous arc so we could go straight into the final arc, as the manga usually does, so it was fine by me. But then on this chapter we just skipped the final arc to jump directly into the final battle.
    The author justified it in story, but it just feels bad, man. It really feels like he is trying to end the manga as fast as possible because it was axe'd

    • @alexicon2006
      @alexicon2006 3 месяца назад +3

      Idk about that just feels like more of your distaste towards chaotic pacing than genuine criticism towards the chaos depicted in this pacing. I thought this is being handled very well.
      The last two chapters have been exactly how I would have expected the god and the master rules to behave in such an endgame.
      Their opponents got all the members, even undead is there, they cam access remember, they even have the possibility of unjustice.
      Now, there is a master rule of time, and in the next three months the strongest negation, unjustice, could easily have been manifested. There is only one way this should have gone if we think this logically. This was the only way for the master rules to pull one over the union.

    • @etccte1
      @etccte1 3 месяца назад +2

      No, I think it has more to do with the author setting up these big deal characters and then not fully using them. Having said that, since they were absorbed into god, we could still see them apearing during the fight, so I'll wait and see how it goes.
      I will, however, complain about not seeing Spring again. I liked the guy. Was hoping to see him again on the new loop

Heavenly Delusions can't even be found using the english name. You have to look it up under the japanese name. Go go loser rangers was awesome and it got forgotten so quickly. Undead Unluck absolutely slaps, easily one of my favorite power systems of all time, but here we are a year and some change later, and I know 1 person other than myself who has watched the anime from beginning to end (I recommended it personally).

They set such high expectations for a series, hoping that it’ll be the next DBZ, Bleach, One Piece, or Naruto and if it doesn’t meet those expectations it gets axed. I feel like the issue why newer series get axed so quickly is because they never get selled that much, and because of online scans, the profit just doesn’t exist.
    In Japan, to vote for the Shonen Jump ranking, you have to purchase the actual magazine, but online scans also exists in Japan and reader will eventually read the chapters for free.

    It was the same with black clover, Shuiesha and Pierrot tried to make it the next big hit, but just like Toriko it failed. It's sales are really nothing compare to new gens like Demon Slayer, My Hero Academia, Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man or Spy x Family, but Jump still don't cancel it, because it have a little fanbase and Undead Unlock have a little fanbase too. So I don't think it will be cancelled.

Having been reading it for these past few days have truly given insight on how Sjump handle shows, and its suffocating. The way they decide what show is popular and what isnt makes it almost impossible for anything that isnt the classic shonen formula to survive. Undead unluck is ultra unique and it make me sad to see it go

    Seeing the whole fandom meltdown and I’m rolling my eyes and laughing my ass off, sure the manga and anime by the looks of aren’t doing well and the new editor change might not be a good but if it was ending I’m pretty sure the author would have made it pretty clear that it’s ending, besides with the heavy hitters of Shonen Jump (MHA and jujutsu kaisen) ending the magazine need some more heavy hitters to keep attracting more people into their magazine. Plus, Undead Unluck is known for having these types of surprises twists like what happens around the 130 chapter mark (if anyone knows what happens back then, you would know that people thought it was getting axed) and of course something like this was going happen if you how much of a scummy bastard the Gods are in the world of Undead Unluck. But either way, we’ll have to wait and see what going to really happen.

    I am snuffing so much copium right now, but there is a saying in the UU fanbase over the course of its existence, “Everytime someone says UU is axed, 20 more chapters gets added.” This actually isn’t the first time this happened, people thought it was getting axed after Spring, then after Ghost, then after Ragnarok.

    • @DeBean970
      @DeBean970 3 месяца назад +4

      I knew the series wouldn't end with Ragnarok due to the obvious loop set up but this chapter had me panicking.
      After thinking about it, I'm coping with Luna being the final villain and not Sun. There were some details that hinted at future stories and developments. I hope the master rules return since they're too good to be wasted.

      As a new fan of maybe 1 year. I must going through what everyone else did. I know it almost got axed after ten chapters hence the power of move of inserting a species called the Acks and their blade ships and armor and then having Juiz blow each other up. That's a reference to how the series was cancelled the first time.
      And it's been going for four years now.
      But you're right. If this was legit. We would've heard something officially. I just googled it and found nothing from the author as of late. Plus it seems weird to cancel a series that's in the final stretch of the story. We are doing a speed run after all. Low popularity or not.
      It's like Gintama all over again. I remember Sorachi posting that bc of the delayed ending he actually got booted from Jump and moved to Jump Giga.
      If this really does happen. All Yoshifumi has to do is move to a new publishing company. That's what Tabata did. Sorachi did it. I can wait a month for UU releases if we're in the final stretch.

    • @goggles8691
      @goggles8691 3 месяца назад

      @@furionmax7824To be clear, Tabata and Sorachi stayed in the same publishing company but switched to a different magazine. If I remember correctly, for Tabata it was because he physically couldn't deal with the weekly schedule anymore (?), which has also happened in the past with series like World Trigger.

      @@goggles8691 but can Yoshifumi do the same thing?? I mean Gintama fell to the bottom of the barrel. But still finished and is to this day a sensation.

    To those not interested in reading it or need a non spoiler way of knowing what the reader were hoping for. It was essentially the series was setting up for 8 miniboss fights before Ragnarok. Now not all of them needed to be fleshed out but at least 4 of these battles people would agree had a lot of buildup so skipping to Ragnarok doesn't look good.

    the big problem is shonen just doesnt hit like it used to. seinen series work really well with audiences now that are looking for more than plot armor and my dreams of the top. one piece keeps working because its unique enough to feel new without always falling into the classic tropes. the story in old school shonen might have been a little predictable but it was done in a way that still made you want to watch and it just isnt that way anymore. If they were to make something like "Boys Abyss" into an anime i bet it would do massive ratings because its so dark and horribly unique. Even in things like AOT the ending is so stupid, ya you stop eren but you damn yourselves and children to nuclear hellfire. At least in trigun, vash dealt with the consequences more personally for his lack of finishing an enemy rather than oh ya damning your whole race
