Being an avid 2 channel stereo music lover and then making the jump to a multi-channel setup, I immediately became aware of how the room sounded different. Didn't know what it was at first, but coming from an audio black background, there was no way I was prepared to put up with it!
Even after auditioning 3 separate AVR's, the same ambient sound of the room was still present! That told me the unwanted faint background signal noise I had been experiencing (poor description) had nothing to do with the actual units. Therefore, my attention changed to the cables. And even then It was only on the third occasion after I finally purchased shielded cables that the noise floor within my small room finally came down to satisfactory levels.
Cables often act as antennas for attracting RF, and the longer the cable, the better the antenna. Probably explains why when I used to disconnect my heights and surrounds within 10 minutes, the faint background signal noise (RF/EMI) within my small room used to disappear/dissipate.
The more cables I shield, the quieter my room becomes, and the better the shielding, the more the chance the cables are likely to disappear.
If one has the same sensitivities and is looking to address this matter, but is also hoping to notice (hear) the incremental differences, I would suggest addressing the analogue cables before moving on to digital and power cables.
Trying to achieve a totally silent room sadly has turned into obsession for me. However, the results speak for themselves. There are times when pressing pause (or mute), my small room has now become so quiet that I'm actually unable to differentiate whether the system is on or if it's actually switched off. Of course, audiophile equipment helps, but in reality, for one to have a totally silent room with a multi-channel setup. Cables, especially cables that have long runs, have to be shielded. IMO, of course
When friends or guests come over, I used to show them how loud the system goes. Now I prefer to press mute and show them how quiet it goes.
None of them gets it, of course 😂

Absolutely love the iconoclast cables. Very natural organic sounding cables both the interconnect and the speaker cable.

Brilliant!!!!!! that looks like total integrity right there, which is a rare thing in cable manufacturing.

I have heard and installed a lot of cables in my life and the Iconoclast are by far one of the best out there, especially for the investment made! I reviewed them twice and the Gen 2 speaker cables are a revelation!! the series 2 XLR cables are excellent as well.

I just bought blue jean cables , the belden 10 gauge with locking banana plugs. Ordered last weekend, got them Wednesday.
The locking plugs make it easy to get a firm connection.

I just moved to AZ from OC CA a couple weeks ago. Bought myself a retirement present, 3 Van Alstine DVA M225 monoblocks for left, right, center. Ordered yesterday, will arrive hopefully UPS this Saturday.
The Van Alstines need XLR cables and Blue Jeans cables sells them ! I ordered 3 XLRs today Wednesday, order promptly fulfilled & are to arrive via Fedex on Friday ! Blue Jean cables are so impressive fulfilling orders. I bought my banana speaker cables from them & love the adjustable banana plug collars = no need for a wrench to secure the cables.

It surely would help if fedex would deliver freakin packages instead of doing whatever is they do. fedex is making blue jean cables & their other clients look bad.

These prices are nuts, unless you have $20+K into your hifi.

I’ve purchased and used Blue Jeans cables both directly from them online and through Amazon. I didn’t like the locking banana speaker cables but for optic, XLR and RCA they are well built and reasonably priced. No snake oil.

their price sheet shows $3400 for their premium snake oil i mean speaker cables... i'll stick with my worlds best cables, better quality, nicer looking, and with the money i'll be saving, the hookers and blow won't be able to hear the difference, myself included LOL.

If the connectors are not copper or silver then there will be degradation therefore defeating the object of a good design.

A lot of mass in these connectors 🤔

They sure beat out some higher end brands and the ultrasonic welds are fabulous. The overall inductance as a cable is fantastic and I am ordering a third set today for my patio SMSL class D amp/dac. Have had the same effect on all my systems with better overall tonality and less listener fatigue for extended periods. Plus, the locking bananas are very effective. Great bargain cables with a Canare 4S11 and spades or bananas ❤

Have them love them no coloration.

If you are hearing "coloration" it's your ears not the cables. All that matters is conductivity ie sufficient gauge for the length, the rest is snake oil.

Those are only sold through dealers like me. You can check my website and fill out the form at the bottom, but Jeff should be back from Axpona on Monday if you want to talk to him as you see in the video.
