    Blue Jeans is the best place to get cables. They are only a little more expensive than bargain Amazon types but well worth it. They are not crazy priced like snake oilers. The connectors are high quality and attached correctly. The specs for all the components used by Blue Jeans Cable are on their site, including manufacturer's official docs in many cases. Buying from anyone else is unwise.

      BTW look at the capacitance spec for the LC-1 in particular--outstanding.

    Watching this a year later after watching your most recent vid on the Holo Audio Red.
    I have gone all in with Blue Jeans LC-1 interconnects. I have their speaker and digital cables. Just ordered their 6a Ethernet cable as an upgrade for my Red when it eventually arrives.
    Great cables for price affordability and build quality. 👍👍

    I really like these BJ cables, as well as the cables from Worlds Best Cables, both great companies. My system today, now consists mainly of the BJ Belden LC-1 cables. My XLR cables are still the WBC Mogami lineup. I really like the quality of the BJ's, HD and fantastic connectors, that will not break the bank.

      I’m going to be trying some Mogami and some BJ XLR cables. Stay tuned!

      @@stereoazimuth In the past two months, my stereo system is all new, ToneWinner AD HiFi series. I replaced my BJ cables for a pair of Mogami 2549, and the sound became a bit veiled, and it was noticeable, the sparkle and clarity was diminished by quite a bit. I was honestly quite surprised at the results. The BJ LC1 cables went back in.

    Another comment coming through…! 😂 So, I’ve tried my share of cables, and I’ve gotta feeling that the people who cry, “snake oil” really haven’t even tried many different cables, and are just going by what looks good on paper. The same can go for something like capacitors. They may measure the same, but they sound different. I like to refer to Herb Reichert’s quote of something like, “We’re able to hear most of what we can measure, but we can’t always necessarily measure everything we can hear”. I like to add, “yet” to the end of that quote.
    All that being said, after trying many different cables, many costing a lot more than than Blue Jeans, I’ve got LC’1’s going from my phono pre to my pre and from my preamp to my amps. I also use Blue Jeans Canare 4S11 speaker cables, because they’re quality cables, and I can’t think of another co. that welds (not solders) either spade or banana plugs to their cables. I’m sure they’re out there, but not for the price that Blue Jeans offers. I can see why you like the “Worlds Best Cables” too. Flexibility is necessary for the reasons you gave, and the Amphenol ends are good quality as well.
    Thanks for yet another great vid. 👍🎶😊

      Some Audiquest cables are cold welded. It only means they are basically super crimped.

    I think you meant 1M. They look like 3ft cables. I use both. Mostly WBC XLRs and BJC Ten White speaker cables. But I am also running a Marantz AV7705 and MM8077 amp.

    The LC-1 has a very low capacity (12pf/ft) that not even cables that cost quadruple have. The lower the capacitance of a cable, the better the high frequency response will be.

    • @stereoazimuth
      @stereoazimuth  6 месяцев назад +1

      That was one of the reasons for trying this, but there are still other factors like OCC that affect total conductivity or whatever that can influence the sound. The capacitance/ft does make a bigger difference, yes.

      I know my TT never sounded so good using their Beleden LC-1 cable. I own quite a few of these, the build quality is exceptional, and I like the HD nature of the cable itself and the connectors. Well worth the cost, which is not that much in the cable game.

    The interconnects work well. I'm using the stuff based on 1505 Belden stock, Low capacitance, noise free. All they do is deliver the signal without special effects. No roll off, no noise.

    • @stereoazimuth
      @stereoazimuth  6 месяцев назад

      Belden 1505 is probably the closest to bulk cable to LC-1 as you can get. Although it is smaller in profile than LC-1 (.242 inch diameter versus .305), has double-braid shielding, and is higher in capacitance (17 pF/ft, vs 12.2 pF/ft for LC-1). They likely still have similar performance in short distances, eg. 1m - 3m.

    Are the cables from Blue Jeans 75 Ohm impedance and the World's Best Cables a different impedance?

    • @stereoazimuth
      @stereoazimuth  23 дня назад +1

      Yes on Blue Jeans LC-1 and the newly released LC-2. No on the World’s Best, and WB makes do many different cables from Mogami, Canare, Gotham, and more.

    I thought Blue Jeans cables were built like a tank but *they are not* :/ I bought my LC-1 on second hand market and it turned out that connection is not stable - signal disappearing when I touch the plug or just because this cable is very stiff and if it's bent under the little pressure sound is interrupted 👎🏻 I also have hand made Mogami and Belden and I think *it's not worth* to overpaid for Blue Jeans because there literately no significant difference between them. I have rather good ear and also did some measurements that only confirms my experience. We don't need extra high frequencies cause we practically can't really hear over 15-16kHz. 20kHz? Wishful thinking. My 7 year boy can hear 18kHz. The older we get the hearing threshold goes down.

    • @stereoazimuth
      @stereoazimuth  Год назад

      It’s not so much the high frequencies, it’s also phase relationships and such. Time domain. It is also kind of a loading an impedance issue as well depending on output section, input section, cable length, etc.
      From what I have experienced, it seems there is different levels of OFC cable like Belden, Mogami, Gotham, Canare, but then another level with OCC. The LC-1 is just a better built OFC. Im going to compare soon with similar build Mogami type coax for interconnect.

    • @KonradSkowronski

      @@stereoazimuth with all respect we listen to the music produced, mixed and mastered in studios where Mogami cables are mainly used and trust me these guys can hear a lot. If they needed something that gives significant improvement or any difference they would use it. Phase relationships? Please...;) I myself used to like all that audiophile sauce but the more I know about sound the less I am vulnerable to psychoacoustic BS;) Anyway, I respect this pleasant and expensive illness :) but I am already cured.

    • @stereoazimuth

      I appreciate your comment and I have always said that cables make the LEAST amount of difference in most systems. And even then there is a hierarchy (interconnect > speaker > power). I have also worked in many studios here in Nashville and they are not ALL Mogami. You will find all kinds. I think Mogami is great an near gold standard of OFC cable on many levels. Although there might be some benefits to OFC. And you can believe the science of skin effect or you can deny it. It does not mean it is not there. The phase comment was speculation on that an all kinds of interactions between audio from one thing to the other thing.

    I make a Mogami W2497 with KLE Classic connectors. The Cable is $3.60 per ft. plus the $50 for the connectors. This cable will out do all those.

    • @stereoazimuth
      @stereoazimuth  4 месяца назад

      I recently made two pair of Mogami 2497 and it is very close to the LC-1. The 2497 is a bit more flexible, but man it is huge. You do need the right connectors with it because normal RCA connectors won’t do. But overall it is almost nearly as good as the LC-1 in SQ.

    • @kevindillinger3699
      @kevindillinger3699 4 месяца назад

      @@stereoazimuth I would have thought the the LC-1 would be the same thickness as the Mogami since BJC started with Canare LV-77S cable and it is the same thickness as the Mogami. The KLE Connectors make the biggest difference.

    • @stereoazimuth
      @stereoazimuth  3 месяца назад

      @@kevindillinger3699 The LC-1 is more like the Belden 1505F. They just use the heavy double braiding as the Canare LV-77S. I just had to get out my calipers. The LC-1 is 7.4mm in diameter, and the Mogami W2497 is 7.75mm. The LC-1 is much stiffer though.

    The Blue Jeans LC-1 is a coax cable not star-quad. Gotham makes GAC-1 Ultra Pro coax on Worlds Best Cable. Try the Gotham, if you can, against the Blue Jeans. Let the best cable for money win. Edited for correct cable version.

      I gave Gotham GAC-2. That is what I compare it to in the video. I only tied this in their interconnect because it is the only cable that is truly “Blue Jeans” cable. All others are off the shelf cables that they slap connectors on.

  • @williamcotton8746

    Just bought the LC-1. Not because I thought it would sound any better than any other cable. I was looking for quality of construction and it is a quality constructed cable. HOWEVER; the inflexibility of this cable is a no-no. I not surprised that it is stiff; I'm surprised at just how stiff it is. Plus-$60.00 for a 3-foot cable. Absolutely not worth it. I absolutely don't believe anyone can hear the difference between one cable and the next. You would have to do a blind test and you are not doing a blind test. I'm not saying you are dishonest but there are other factors involved. You can't do an unbiased test the way you are doing it.
