I feel a lot of the 3D era characters just needrd more work put into there backstories and movesets then they could have been solid characters, I would give Darrius a 5/10 he had a cool look but needs more work put into his backstory and moveset.
I actually loved playing Darrius is Deception & Armageddon. He deserves better and his story hopefully will get fleshed out more. His alternate costume is my favorite.

Darrius as a character, 7/10 cuz he was one of my best characters to use at the time when i used to play Deseption. Lore wise though, 4/10 cuz the guy needs a better story, a better lore, otherwise he'll just be made a fool if he were to be added as DLC for MK 11 or any future games later on in life.
I always thought Darrius was the fighting monk in the Mortal Kombat movie. He showed up in the Mortal Kombat tournament,faced Liu Kang and got washed. He came wandering in from the OrderRealm and expected to face a jobber! 😅😂 7 out of 10

I loved his his fit tho it reminds of a mix between blade,raven(tekken), and the color scheme of the suit is dope to me. But due to that poor story and even fatalities I give em a 4
4/10 I actually liked his design (his secondary is whole another story) and the idea of him being a leader of a resistance of sorts has potential considering in konquest, Seido is said to have no freedom. As they say, one man's terrorist, is another man's freedom fighter. I find him utilized poorly, with his story arc not really going anywhere besides one part of konquest, and lacking in the good fatality department. It's a shame NetherRealm will never bring him back, cause with some real effort put in, Darrius could've been seen as a badass.
I didn’t play the 3D era games so when I saw him as a kameo in the new MK1 trailer I had to figure out who he was and this video did such a great job explaining who he was. Thank you for your service, putting yourself through pain and torture by playing and researching this dog shit character.

Yeah I haven’t seen Darrius in years actually because I played all the MK games in the 3D Era specifically, he was very underrated but hopefully he can go big again in MK1
The game gave Darrius a motivation to fight against Hotaru and his mens? I mean, Havik could easily took his place as the "enemy" of the Order Realm but maybe, if he had had more back story to justify his actions, he could had been a lot more interesting.
He kinda does have an interesting backstory imo. We know how fucked Seido can be with their laws and I guess Darrius along with others wanted to overthrow the government to put an end to the realms bullshittery, with Havik helping Darrius just to cause chaos. But yeah he needs to be more polished with a better character design and he's set.
I’d give him a solid 7 his story while basic was interesting especially as u learn about the order realm in konquest mode his fighting styles are decent his special moves are good to me fighting styles ok design cool it’s really just his fatalities and in some aspects his story that hold him back for me
5.5/10 He doesn't quite pass. I think the idea behind him was good, giving Hotaru a rival also could've helped develop his character. In fact, the entire Orderrealm's thing was cool. Hotaru = Order Dariou = Balance Darrius = Chaos Unfortunately, he doesn't pass for a few key reasons. These reasons being, he wasn't given enough development and there was already a character who represented chaos, and quite frankly did it much better, Havik. All that said, he was better than others like Kobra and Hsu Hao. However, compared to a lot of other characters who I'd say have at least some unused potential (Kai, Nitara, Ashrah, Sareena, Hotaru, Li Mei etc) he is below them. All in all, with some tweaking I think he could make it.
6/10. I'd say he has all of the right building blocks to be a good character. He just wasn't implemented well. He's not a joke like Meat or Mokap, and he certainly isn't Hsu Hao.
