I don't understand why RE is taking so much time to launch alloys for 650 , there has always been a constant debate between alloys and spoke users , i say lunch them , jinko lagana hoga vo lagaenge , rest it up to an individuals choice .
Same is with Himalayan; they should give 19" front and 17" rear alloys and introduce a pure tourer version. They might have to re-design the front end a bit; but there are many buyers out there who want tourer bikes with basic or mild adventure capability.
@@venurao8721 the fact that alloy wheels are about 40-70% weaker than spoke wheels won't get enough exposure. Also tubeless tires will get punctured significantly more often than you'd guess. Not only that in an off-road terrain the spoke wheels are better at absorbing some amount of jerks and feels more planted hence most adventure tourers come with spokes Outta the factory!
hi can u pls share the technicals (while fixing the rear wheels) and would 120/70/18 front and 150/70/18 rear tyres fit in this alloys? kindly respond!
Man, this is the most subtle macho look I've seen on Interceptor yet. And that quilted seat looks fab quality I don't know if they are stock but if not, doesn't look after market.
One of the criticisms of the machine is the weight. Are the alloys lighter or heavier than the spoked wheels and by how much? IMHO the bike looks better with spokes but the advantage of tubeless is indisputable. V-strom has it both ways that would be the way to go
When the wheels were not on the bike in the beginning of this video I thought they were pretty ugly. Reminded me of early locomotive wheels. But once on the bike I think they look fantastic! Too bad this bike is not made/offered this way. Great job.
The bike looks nice with the alloys. Looking forward to see how the alloys would perform on a bike with 200 kg of weight. Hope the alloys have been tested well before launching.
Are there any other design options for alloy wheels for Interceptor as I personally don’t like the design. Would personally like 7-8 spoke alloys. Can you advise please
So I’m not sure if this has been asked before or addressed before. I wanted to know if the 650 wheels and classic wheels were able to fit on the Himalayan? I haven’t been able to measure the hub width, and I know it’ll throw off my speedometer reading, but just wanted to know if anyone has tried. I know, the Himalayan can be rebuilt to a different rim, but I’ve been eying switching my Himalayan to a more road setup with a somewhat street tire and possibly tubeless. Since RE is still coming up in the states, I figured I’d go to people who have been working on them for years and have more knowledge than me.
So..any maintenance required for this Powder coating Raj? Like there is a common thing I came across like these Rims need complete maintenance after Riding in Wet roads and should prevent it from Salty things!
I've searched the whole internet for black alloys...erado is the best, couple of bikers painted it black but it comes off sooner or later but this look pleasing and promising
Fixes the one issue I have with the Interceptor, spoked wheels. Oh, yes, they look lovely, but having a puncture? Nightmare to fix! Do they sell to the US?
What was the cost for the alloys ? How much for powder coating ? Dod they made any change from the stock setting, can we inter change with spoke without any adjustment
RE should make a version of Interceptor like this. Blacked out alloys, handlebar and bar end mirrors, LED lights all round, single sided brushed metal finish exhaust, digital dials like the one on the Thunderbird or the new Meteor. Bump up the price a bit and I'll buy it right away.
Raj, great content man. Do you still ride with these and also how do they compare to the RE alloy wheels? I love the look of these and I worried about getting a flat with the spokes and I am really considering changing to alloy wheels. Thanks!!
Bro is there any long term issue with alloys in interceptor....after watching your video ...i have decided to buy an interceptor and change its rims into alloy rims ....just want your opinion... 👍👍
Yakuza looks epic. It looks more bulk while taking a look from the tires. The powder coating is looking so good that, am also thinking of coating some chrome parts of my motorcycle. I own a classic 500 & almost 5 years old. Rusting is a bit issue on motorcycles made more of metal. Waiting to see more videos. Stay safe Ride safe Break the chain for spreading COVID-19
Go for engine coating as well, I am sure it would make the bike look even more beefier...Also it will go well with black spoke rims (in case you decide to go back to spokes)
Oo Bhai finally u did it we r waiting for it alloys are super stylish man any ways Good work bro with the alloys the bike looks stunning.superb man.cheers...
The alloys look CLEAN!!! Nice pick. What happened to your drag type bars.? Just picked up a chrome int 650 here in Texas & I’m looking for a pair but hard to find. Maybe you mentioned it in a previous video and I missed it but looking for the manufacturer name etc. thanks,
One question would be, how it performs on high speed cruising. As it was previously used on bullets. But bike definitely look classier, a different brat like look
Spokes is the only thing thats stopping me from buying..this looks good and lets see if they hold on long rides. Last ride i went on my bullet to goa from hyd i broke 4 spokes and reached without even noticing ..
So even without the inner tubes inside the stock tires, the steering didn't feel lighter or quicker? Did you notice any difference in stopping distance with the lower angular momentum?
Bro After changing to alloy wheels i have noticed that rear disc get heating issue. I didn’t know about the earlier with Spoke wheels. Can you please guide me that are you facing issue or not?
Hi Raj bro how is your experience with alloy wheels to the interceptor, Shall we go for it or we will stick to the stock wheels please let me know, Cause my major issue with the spoke wheels punctured and it's repair so please give your valuable suggestions on this issue
How are the wheels holding? I want to do the same. And yes, they have to be powder coated all black. I really do not like them how they come with the two-tone... EDIT: Ohhhhh I just saw your video from a month ago where you are going back to the spoked wheels...

Exactly
Chutia ha re kamsa kam alloys and led as an option to do
Same is with Himalayan; they should give 19" front and 17" rear alloys and introduce a pure tourer version. They might have to re-design the front end a bit; but there are many buyers out there who want tourer bikes with basic or mild adventure capability.
atlest as an optional

This is the 1st time I actually liked alloy wheels
Same
Seriolsy dude. I used hate this..... But now it's like wow
Me too
Alloy wheels are much better than spoke wheels
How are the alloys performing? I have heard somewhere that they can break with a bump. So not suitable for off track?
Only this black allow has suited the interceptor till now
True
Just got free from work and got the notification for your video.... Couldn't get any better than this.
Bike looks real fucking dope on black alloys
One of the best looking Interceptor. These are decent mods along wid your new alloys lots of love to your YAKUZA!!!!

hi can u pls share the technicals (while fixing the rear wheels) and would 120/70/18 front and 150/70/18 rear tyres fit in this alloys? kindly respond!

Dual round headlights for a neo-retro look. Will look one of a kind!

Does wobbling of the bike at higher speed has reduced when changed to alloys

What if we need to put 140 or 150 size rear tyre, can we put on these alloys or only stock rims spokes?

How much is the weight saving switching from spoked to alloys??
Any change in steering geometry?
How r they holding up?
Any reduction in performance after putting them ? As weight is increased now.
Go for engine coating as well, I am sure it would make the bike look even more beefier...Also it will go well with black spoke rims (in case you decide to go back to spokes)

You've killed the classic charm of spokes
Is it your motorcycle? no eh? then stfu.

Harley Davidson, Triumph & Indian. Are mad na 😂 to give alloys
Convenience of alloys over the charm of spokes any day.
We all know how difficult it is to fix a rear wheel puncture spoke wheels with tubed tyres.

Spokes is the only thing thats stopping me from buying..this looks good and lets see if they hold on long rides. Last ride i went on my bullet to goa from hyd i broke 4 spokes and reached without even noticing ..
