Good video. I'm looking at adding/augmenting our tactics manual to include a section on attic fires. Have you noticed any difference with nozzle size and adjustability? eg. 2 1/2" vs 1 3/4" and smooth bore vs adjustable fog nozzle. Also, have you done (or know of any) any controlled experiments with foam application on the initial attack?
Hose and nozzle size should be appropriate for the size of the structure. Obviously you wouldn't use a 2 1/2" line on a double wide prefab, and you should've be using a 1 1/2" line on a McMansion. Foam or a wetting agent is just going to make things even better, as it usually does.

If there is soffit in place would you remove it all or just a small space to get water in the attic space?
Yes. If possible, use a pike pole to remove the soffits! That's my opinion anyway.
