The X-Men is known to feature some of the most powerful beings on Earth, and some of them can even take down Gods. Just like the good guys, the bad guys have some powerful tricks up their sleeve as well. From diamond skin to godly powers, villainous powers come in all shapes and sizes. And some of these villains have way too much power for everyone’s good. But hey, what’s a hero without a villain, right? So here are the top 10 most powerful villains from the X-Men movies.

i feel many people look down on storm a lot since they just assume she can make it rain and thunder, but in actuality her ability allows her to manipulate all kinds of storms, and that includes those that occur in space, so that basically means she can absolutely destroy a planet if she wanted to

Apocalypse’s original power is the ability to absorb mutant abilities, I think. Which is why he’s the most powerful mutant since he can literally wield anyone else’s mutant ability with no limit.
Nah Charlie’s son is basically he has every single mutant ability out there plus more and he gains more as more mutants come into being meaning he has apocalypse powers and then some

Correction: Sabertooth is NOT immune to telepathic manipulation. Prof X controlled his mind for a moment to choke Magneto when Magneto was threatening a mass crowd of police that time.
He's immune to telekinesis.

I was surprised that Stryker made it on the list, but it makes sense. Anyone who has the balls to take on the entire mutant race without any powers of his own deserves a spot.

Emma Frost was the biggest fumble they've made on screen, not including Phoenix, and it makes me so sad. They sidelined her hard because they didn't know how to use her properly. The White QUEEN is not a goddamn henchman to be used as just a glorified ice cutter. Comic Emma would destroy live action Emma out of disgust. There's a reason she was used to replace 2 characters at once in the comics and they need to do her justice -_-

@@Ignasimp She was brought into the team to replace Charles and Colossus and fill in the gaps for both their powers, although Marvel ended up bringing both characters back a few years later.

The thing about Juggernaut is that in the comics, he could accelerate his kinetic energy, making him virtually unstoppable as he plowed in a single direction. That was also one of the main reasons he was named Juggernaut, not just his hulking size.

Maneto power is planetary level.
Juggernaut: He is one of the strongest beings in the universe. He is often able to best Thor and Hulk in battle, as even the strongest incarnations of Planetary Hulk cannot overpower Juggernaut.
He stands almost ten feet tall and weighs close to 2,000 lbs. Even at this immense size, he has the ability of superhuman speed. His huge leg muscles can carry his frame as fast as 600 miles per hour
Juggernaut is a very durable being. He cannot be physically harmed in any way. He also wears indestructible, completely unnecessary body armor. If there was a physical force that could somehow manage to penetrate his armor and damage his body, it would first have to make it through a force field that Juggernaut constantly has surrounding him. This force field can stop any and all physical attacks. Nothing can penetrate it, even Cyclops’ full optic blast, which is said to have the power to rip a planet in half. Good luck getting through that outer layer of protection to harm Juggernaut.
That was a perfect synopsis of magneto, honestly.

no one mentioned Jean. She was the most powerful. She killed Scott, Xavier, Raven(she didn't mean to), and Vuk. She also stopped apocalypse and was able to absorb phoenix flare. She was good but her power turned her evil(or villianish) sometimes.
I love Emma Frost’s powers. Her telepathic powers can have her learn anything from any one just by them being near her. She can be the best doctor just by visiting a hospital.
Then her other form doesn’t require food, water and air to live. It also makes her durable, super strong and unable to be psychically notice and controlled.

Juggernaut is not a mutant. He doesn't have any of the mutant abilities. His power comes from the Crimson Gem of Cyttorak.

@@glennwatson3313 Show me 1 instance where Juggernaut is said to be a mutant. Several have had the power of the gem to include everyones favorite big metal silver guy. The gem gives the power, nothing else. If a mutant like Colossus keep there mutant abilities and gain the raw power of the Juggernaut.

Also Magneto was recruiting mutants and he recruited Juggernaut. In that X-men movies universe there were no powered individuals that were not mutants.

I was thinking jean grey was going to be featured as the most powerful villain in x men or at the least one of the top five. Jean is almost indestructible.
It's a shame that both the movies and comics seem to underestimate just how immensely dangerous Xavier could be. *Just* the ability to flawlessly read minds would all but ensure that - if he wasn't in the pocket of one of the world's intelligence agencies - they'd quickly find a way to neutralize him. Add on top of that the ability to psychically control people and you have someone who could very well be one of the most dangerous mutants. To kill someone, Magneto has to use something metal. Most mutants have to close to melee range to use their powers. But Xavier? He could pretty much kill any normal person who pissed him off with literally a thought ('Find the nearest building over 5 stories and jump from the top of it.' or 'Take out your pistol and blow your brains out.'). Add on top of that Cerebro and he suddenly becomes an existential threat to all mankind. One of the dumbest things in the original X-men movies was how, after Magneto tricks Xavier into almost wiping out humanity, nothing apparently came of it. If tomorrow every human being doubled over with a blinding headache all at once without any apparent cause, you can damn well better believe that every world leader from here to Timbuktu would be scouring the globe looking for answers.

I loved X-Men Apocalypse & its in my top 5 super-hero movies with Stan Lee. I agree I wish they used motion captured Apocalypse they had rather than practical putting Oscar in that herendous refridge suit.

Personally, I'd put Apocalypse above Shaw, and Shaw above Magneto. Magneto only killed Shaw by way of Xavier putting a freeze on Shaw so he couldn't fight back against him. Mind, Magneto could have killed Shaw if he had full mastery of his powers at the time, but it wouldn't have been a sure thing. Shaw was typically arrogant and took it easy on Magneto, as villain boss characters are wont to do. Shaw has the potential to unleash devastation around him. Magneto just isn't _that_ durable, and Shaw also has that whole anti-aging factor going for him.
Apocalypse was only stopped by the Phoenix, and the combined might of the rest of the team fighting him was little more than an inconvenience, as I recall.

Even though he wasn't a villain, Darwin is definitely the most underrated and probably one of the most overpowered X-men ever.
Darwin has reactive evolution, aka he can automatically adapt to any situation or environment that he is in, allowing him to survive possibly anything.
He was killed easily in X-men First Class

Magneto's power in Apocalypse is quite inconsistent. He can almost destroy the world with the extra power he received but them all he could do was to throw garbage to Apocalypse

The crazy thing about magneto is that, if he focused hard enough, he would have about the same powers as Apocalypse. There are a few primary forces binding elements of the universe together, but one of the strongest and most ubiquitous is the electro-magnetic force.
Sooner or later the movies will stop calling juggernaut a mutant. I guess it is just easier than explaining why he isn’t.
He technically is because his strength and momentum is his mutation. In The Last Stand when he got near Jimmy, he couldn’t ram through the wall like he did the others

I think that people dont understand how incredible powerfull shaw was, cuz his energy absorption appears to have no limit at all, and since he can absorb literally anything, including melee attacks. Hes simply too powerfull to be stopped.

This reads more like your favorite villians, than the most powerful ones. Sabertooth isn't even as powerful as Toad, Striker is just an evil guy, and Trask is way more destructive; viper gets her arse handed to her by a little girl with no combat mutation, and everything she can do Toad can do better, and he can do a lot she can't do; Mystique isn't powerful but just posseses a useful ability, Apocalypse is the most powerful one listed; Prof X says in X-1 that there are far more powerful mutants than Wolverine, so his evil twin shouldn't be on this list considering that back then the characters had hardly any powers, but wolverine's haven't really increased through the series, except being in better shape; Dark Phenix kicked Eric's arse in X-3, when she was a villian; the Aliens in Dark Phenix could kicks half of this list off the planet, and btw have all the powers of Mystique, plus are basically stronger and tougher than Asgardians; the extras in X-3 could knock half this list off; Multiple Man didn't have a fight scene in the movie, but is basically on Quicksilver's level of mutation, and we all know how he's insanely overpowered, etc

Jean Gray in the dark Phoenix form is the most powerful mutant that ever existed. That raises the question why can't Jean Gray as the Phoenix tap into some of that power the dark Phoenix possessed?
Possessed? That power belongs to the Phoenix Force, a separate entity that uses telepaths as hosts. If Jean uses it's powers, she will release a cosmic entity made of pure psionic energy that destroys worlds to remake them a new. Not a good idea.

The most overpowered villains are the Sentinels, for sure. The most frightening as well. One of them would eazily deal with anyone from the top10-top4. More Sentinels would be needed to deal with the top 3, if they could at all.

Magneto can't fly. He imitates flying by manipulating metal. That's why he had to create a metal disk to step on when escaping the plastic prison.
He actually can fly. He does so by manipulating the earths magnetic field.
I interpreted that scene as him being in a cell designed to negate his power. Like a big faraday cage which nullifies the earth's magnetic fields. Hence why he needed some metal inside the cage to manipulate.

I would say Dark Phoenix is the strongest. She can destroy everyone in this list. Not only that, her power to consume stars and planets like a breakfast is scary. Only her can go to space and manipulate whatever she thinks of without using a space suit 🙄

Magneto is so OP it's insane. He manipulates _magnetism_ , so not metal per se, but the actual fundamental FORCE itself. Plus he can do it on a crazy small OR large scale. The movies simply don't do him a shred of justice.

actually sabertooth being immune to telepathic abilities wasn't canon for the movies. he is shown to be controlled by Charles in X2 I believe.
