I know I bought a .22lr GSG 16 a few years back and I hate it. It runs fine but it’s just awful to shoulder and shoot. Definitely gonna be trading it in on something different.
Got one two weeks ago from a dealer in Washington State. Im in Birmingham Alabama. Took me 4 weeks to find one. Keep looking. They sell them as fast as they get them in. It’s a great gun.
Everybody should have a 22LR conversion kit for the AR-15 then you don't have to buy two different guns even though the 22LR conversion kit is almost expensive as a gun it will save you money in the long run I use it in all my hairs 10 and 1/2 16 18 good to go
Just get an AR in whatever caliber you groove to, and then an alternative (PSA comes to mind) complete upper and a few dozen magazines. Within one minute you can swap from one to the other, and if you keep an optic on each, no need to keep sighting them in at each swap.
How does the Tippmann Arms M4-22 compare to the HK416 22? Looking to pick something like this up but I just wasn't sure which one will be of better quality.
Looks like a high quality firearm. But have to say I personally don't see why I would pay $100 more for a dedicated .22 AR piston when you can get a .223/5.56 AR pistol for less money. I get if you want a nice .22 but I feel like that's like saying well you can have a Mustang GT 500 for $50,000 OR you can have the 3.7L 6 cylinder Mustang for $62,000 and then someone makes the argument well I just like the gas mileage better on the 6 cylinder. To each their own I guess but that just seems really silly to me.
I know it's been in the court system awhile and fought hard. Is it legal again to use a pistol brace as a stock? I'd like to have one of these set up with a red dot as a plinker
@@JohnQDoe-ut3jj Never been able to understand how handguns that you can cover with your palm are legal and shotguns with 36" barrels are legal but lobg barreled handguns are easily confused with short barreled rifles and those aren't legal. It makes no sense at all
Well, a lot of companies Presently offer various Firearms with similar and more intricate Braces for sale, and one can find people firing them and so forth on video's, like this one.
I must say, when I've used good quality 22lr ammunition, I've never had one fail to fire. CCI minimags and CCI Stingers always fire for me. The bulk ammunition can have 1 every 100 to 300 rounds fail to fire for me or you'll hear a weaker round maybe every 40 to 60 rounds. I'd rather have one of these than a 223 AR the same size because the 223 isn't reliable or very effective in that barrel length. Maybe a 22 magnum in that size would be good too. The problem with 22 magnum is that the ammo is too expensive to shoot a lot with.
@@andrewkeeton3627 A 7 inch barrel on an AR is really too short for 223. That round is designed for a 20 inch barrel. 7 inches isn't enough barrel to burn all the powder in the case, so you get a very loud gun that makes huge fireballs out of the muzzle and slow rounds. You also have to open the gas port up to get enough gas to cycle a 7 inch 223 AR15, so it's very gassy and it also throws the bolt carier group rearward really fast because of the over-gas, so the guns tend to beat them selves to death. An AR chambered in 9mm or 22lr or 300 Blackout can work well with a 7 inch barrel, but not a 223. You can make it work, but not well and it's anoying to shoot. You need something like 10.5 inches for 223 to make it reliable.
Its ok & all. That said, why not simply buy a 22 conversion for your already existing AR? Saves money & likely more accurate. What could possibly be the downside. Especially considering this model here while nice also not worth the money. If someone wants a standalone dedicated AR based 22LR there are better options. Especially if your going to spend that much. Just get an hk or s&w or walther & get something better. $700.00 is not worth it.
It depends on your storage and budget requirements. Having been through all the stated options of 22 AR shooting, the Tippman is BY FAR the best option. I'll break down my experience: 1. AR with CMMG conversion kit. Spotty reliability with occasional jams and frequent firing pin breakages. You don't get last round bolt hold and forward assist is trouble-some even with the CMMG add-on. The barrel twist rate also is not great for 22 shooting. This was my first solution. The advantage of this setup is you can save money on optics, furniture and safe space. I don't think this is a good choice for anyone that competes using it as a .22- just not reliable enough. You also run the risk of fouling the gas tube if you shoot lots of .22 and don't store conversion bolt in upper for extended periods of time because the back weld can break. You'll also want to buy the CMMG charging handle to improve reliability- otherwise bullets find a way to log the bullet head into the slot of a normal AR handle. That was a early malfunction type that I experienced. The CMMG magazines can also have feeding issues and those news ones are welded so that don't even break open which sucks. I used this solution for about 5 years and had to give up because the gun was letting me down too much. 2. Umarex Colt M16 (or HK as well I believe). Sootch summed things up pretty well. Cleaning is a pain! Reliability is decent, but there really is no compatibility with AR accessories. There is no forward release and no bolt release either. With the round counts I would should, the cleaning was a buzz-kill. I never attempted to compete with that configuration. 3. Tippman- definitely the best option! I really have no serious complaints other than it's hard to remove the buffer spring assembly without taking the bolt release off. I have shot about 10k rounds on my rifle and it's the best option for what I do. I use my Tippman for a fun steel match often and it is super reliable- more so than the Ruger 10-22's or even some PCCs as well. My local range has a Tippman Rental and it must have 20k+ rounds through it with no issues besides a broken ejector spring. It really comes down to how often you are shooting .22. If you're shooting .22 60% of the time or more, then just buy a Tippman and save yourself some money.
