My first Fleor pickup was a telecaster neck pickup and it was purely because it was cheap on Amazon just to get it working but I stumbled on a bargain! Now doing a HSS strat type guitar so think I’ll try the alnico 5 next, thanks for the video :)
I upgrade a Squier Mustang and Jazzmaster with this pickup set (Alnico V). They sound way better than the previous one. You loose the "high gain due to very hot pickup typical tone" but it gives more clarity, smoothness and that bluesy tone wich is more versatile and respect the amp sound signature. For the price it's a very nice upgrade.
I bought some used gold covered humbuckers by Fleor. The solder from pup's base to the gold covers pushed the covers out a bit wide and made it tricky to squeeze into the body. Lucky for me I was repainting the body and I simply filed and sanded the pup cutout a bit wider. Anyway, the poor soldering does say something about the build quality. That said, I paid $40 for them used in NZ and that's cheap in a place where NOTHING is cheap.
I was planning on putting these on my squire bronco to get rid of the single coil buzzing issue and definitely wanted a neutral sound to not throw off the sound. Im glad i went with the cheaper bass causr this $15 upgrade will make it sound great cant wait
Absolutely loved the neck pickup cleans on say it aint so! I got a Squier Bullet Mustang HH and I'm thinking about replacing the humbuckers with the Fleor Alnico V set, I'm mainly gonna use it for stuff like alternative rock like grunge/post grunge/nu metal (you get the idea), Indie rock and some metal. Can these pickups do the job well?
lol, i just saw these on ebay. the lows sound really close to 'black winter' pickups from what i hear (mine is drop C ). have you got any longtime-experiences with "cheap pickups"? good stuff here, worth a sub
If u are into the hair band error like the mid to late 80s these pickups are what u need..I use them on my whitesnake patches and when I'm playing stuff like Ratt with Warren demartini solos..These things rock and u can use a boss metal zone and run it in the return effects loop and tighten up the bottom end sound as well..$18 bucks for the bridge pickup and to me in my opinion its rocks just as hard if not more that the Duncan super distortion, it's just how u set your amp to play..
Thank you for the demos! Would you recommend FLEOR or Wilkinson alnico 5 pick-ups? The price is similar so its hard to choose.. The coil split is important to me and I like more clean sounds. How are they different?
If you're talking about AliExpress, I think all the "Wilkinson" pickups there are counterfeit (just like the "Wilkinson" bridges there). Original Wilkinson pickups are great but I don't know how inferior the fakes are.
@@ErebosGR there are fakes but there's also real wilks, you have to look for the silver backplates with the logo engraved on them or the M-series which have generic bronze backplates and the M-series below the front logo, but they are indeed real wilks
@@Juanter That's good to know. Thank you for the information. I hadn't bothered to look further into ways of distinguishing the fakes from the real ones because I heard that even Harley Benton fell victim of sourcing counterfeits for their guitars. That was why they switched to Roswell.
2 questions: Do you think these Alnico V humbuckers with exposed pole pieces sound the same as the set with hex pole pieces? As far as I can tell, the resistances are the same, but I love the look of the hex pole pieces. The other question: I have the ceramic hex pole pieces set, but I find the neck pickup a little bit dull. However, I like the sound of the bridge pickup (very beefy sounding and enough clarity for my taste). Would you say this Alnico set sounds as beefy on the bridge (with a little added clarity, as I can see) but the neck is clearer than the ceramic set? I am making my research...maybe I should only change the neck pickup for this alnico V...do you think they would balance well? Or maybe just swap the entire set? What would your comments be in regards to the alnico vs the ceramic set in terms of tone? Thanks a lot in advance.
The pole pieces shouldn't affect the tone as long as the height are the same in both. And different magnet sets are completely normal, i have mixed sets in most of my guitars, i say they would be great in that combo (alnico neck/ceramic bridge)
Nice video dude. The tones are great and your production quality is getting better. I am curious about your thoughts on the import-guitar Duncan Designed pickups? They typically go for pretty cheap used, but I wanted to get your opinion considering you are the "pickup guy" in this side of YT.
Thanks! I've had a very limited experience with DD pickups, but i did do a fair bit of research on them, from what i know, they are made with the exact same specs the SD counterparts, mostly same materials, and by the same type of machinery, just in china instead of the US, so they should sound identical to their SD counterparts
I think those pickups sound fantastic...very articulate, very dynamic.
BETTER SOUND than the ceramic set to my ears

Idk if you would be able to reply, is the bridge pickup the 8k one or the 15k one? Can someone answer which would be better?
The bridge is the 15k. high output🤘👊
What do you think, Which Fleor pups are better Alnico5 or Ceramic ?
Personally, both are great but i've enjoyed the alnico more
Also I may grab one of these for my friend
Go for it king
glad you finally played some clean tone. why so much noise in the bridge pickup clean if it's a humbucker? bad wiring job ?
Shame they are no longer available :(
There is planty on aliexpress
Amazon has em. I have em in my cart.

100%, these are still in my Aria strat which is my main nu metal/hard rock guitar, Eb/Drop C# and they sound amazing

In terms of quality they are equals in my opinion, Donlis has way more variety

I don't think that should change sounds as long as they are the same height

They have 2 selections on Amazon. 7-8k or 15-16k bridges.
