THRIFT HOPPING - Some good toy and clothing finds! + Ramble at the end

- It's the last week of May and that means it's time for me to go on my thrift hopping! Thrift hopping is something I do where I "HOP" from one thrift store to another in search of pre-loved toys to rescue. Most of the time, I try to go to 3-4 different thrift stores but because we had lat start, we only went to 2 stores. I still managed to find some good toys AND clothing pieces. I noticed there's a bit of negativity in the toy community towards thrifting. Whether this was intentional or not, I personally didn't like how it was having negative effects on people by having them think toys from thrift stores are gross or just weird. That's not true! I worked so hard to change people's perspective in this with my thrift hopping and rescued treasures series. Now that I am aware this is happening, I am definitely going to be consistent again with my thrift hopping and rescued treasures series.

I don't mind thrift stores. I just found an awesome outfit for $6.00, a nice dress shirt and a brand new pair of shorts.
I honestly love your Thrift hopping videos, it's probably one of my favourite series you've made, also like the saying says " One man's trash is another man's treasure " but honestly I love this kind of stuff as you can find some rare, good stuff.
Also in England we don't have thrift shops, we have Charity shops which is pretty much the same thing but I found two really expensive, collectable bears which I do collect and bought so yeah :D! I love thrifting XDD
Galaxy Wolf nice. ^^ but nowadays things are expensive in some charity shops and it can be harder to find great finds as people sell stuff offline for silly amounts of money. Some people don't see what people can afford, etc. Well where I am there are loads. ^^

I didn't know what Savers was before watching your videos. Now my mom and I go thrifting there atleast 3 times a month. We have found clothes, furniture, Awesome toys, shoes, a wheelchair for my grandmother, and so much more. Thank you Dollastic!

Well said Lastic! I only thrift shop these days as mall prices seem to have sky rocketed! I always recycle my clothing and other household items I no longer use.
I recently went on a life changing journey and lost over 120 pounds. Value village has been a blessing as my size decreased. I was able to happily donate my previous wardrobe as well so someone else may have a new wardrobe themselves! I always find amazing items for myself and others there. The prices are so affordable you can't go wrong! I just love love love your thrift hopping videos Lastic! You are a ray of sunshine with killer fashion ❤️
Thrifting, repurposing and rescuing things that are slated for our landfills is the best thing you can do for the planet. So happy to know you see things differently!!
I don't thrift often just because the ones nearby don't usually carry anything I'm looking for but I am open to it. I went to a saver s in canada and found a lot of good stuff, by due to luggage space hen one item. It was a mashimaru plushies for .99 cents. It was a little dirty and had a knit hat that was loose. As soon as I came home, I handwashed it by soaking it in hot soapy water and letting dry with a fan Andrew those moisture absorbers then sewed the harpy back one. It's on my shelf now :)

Thank you for spreading a positive view of thrift shops! I go all the time and find great items. I find the cutest VINTAGE clothing that I make outfits with; I have a twenty year old romper that gets me compliments whenever I wear it!

If you're talking about the series I think you're talking about at the end, it started out of frustration caused by the lack of descent thrift stores in their area. It wasn't intended to belittle thrifting. I don't think they meant any harm. They would always talk about being jealous specifically of your finds in their old toy hunts. I love their channel as well as yours! I love watching your toy and thrifting hunts! 💖💝💖
Omg me and my older sister used to watch Gargoyles when we were younger too. I think it used to be on at eight pm in the early 2000s for us.

The best thing I found in a thrift shop is my favourite blouse, which is a vintage 3/4 length sleeved polka dotted shirt. I love it so so so much. And the quality of that shirt has lasted someone else for quite a while, and I have had it for 6 years now, and it still feels like new. Thriftstores are AWESOME.
Your thrift hopping vids are my fave thing you produce! I too am a thrift shopper; My recent great find was 8 minty Jem and the Holograms dolls. May all time was from this year, though- I found a Sasha doll from the 70s. I was in tears!

Some of the best things that I have found in our crawls was three of the british Harry Potter books. Including the Chamber of Secrets in a hard back edition.

I love your thrift hopping videos! There is nothing wrong with buying toys or other things from thrift stores as long as you clean them up after buying then it is fine! I love thrifting and so do my kids. Your Savers are way better than our Savers at least when it comes to toys. But I've found many clothing items from thrift stores and a lot were brand new.
hi lastic, i love thrift stores!, i sometimes find great old vintage toys like care bears & my little pony's, disney toys , some need a lil clean & love but that's part of the fun, making them look nice agin. my greatest find was found at a dollar plus store they had a few seconed hand items there a you won't believe what I got a vintage still in box sailor moon ,moon place playset for only $20 it was the Korean ver I love it! they go for so much money usually was so lucky that day. I love your thrift series & seeing what you find its great fun to thrift you never know what you'll find. :D .

I got most of my copper mold collection from thrift stores. Most of my stuff is in storage till I get a place of my own. I love going to thrift stores and finding old glasses from the 70's and 80's since I grew up in the era. I was going on 12 when you were born.
My sister and I love to thrift hop. We found a brand new American girl dog boxed set for $5 at a local goodwill. Also found the gently used locker for $3 I believe. My daughter was thrilled! I also find great deals on clothes at several consignment shops locally for my kids. I got 5 name brand outfits for less than the cost of 2 at the mall. They get more clothes and I save money. We both win. And almost all things can be washed to look almost if not brand new.
Im a thrift hopper too and I totally agree with you. Thriftiness is fun and helpful to the planet and our wallets sometimes lol. Because you can find a lot of awesome deals. Your videos are so fun to watch. Love that you do them with your sister. Think its terrible that someone tried to correct you on your english when most of us american born folks can barely speak it ourselves sometimes lol. I love thrifting so much! My favorite thrifted treasure is a G1 MLP, Cotton Candy. I was never an MLP fan but she just looked so different and worn looking.

I found the coolest thing ever in a thriftstore a few months ago: a pink cardigan for my Luna Lovegood cosplay and it's almost the exact same as the one Evannah is wearing in the movies 😍

Hi Dollastic, in Germany we call the stores here Secondhand stores. I don´t go very often there but sometimes they do have great stuff, example I love to do handcraft stuff like crochet/ Knitting. I found in my nearby Secondhand stores a few books on Hand knitting & crochet for just 1 Euro per book which was Awesome. Old toys or dolls I often find at Flea markets or so called Flohmarkt in Germany. I understand your point very well on the Thriftstore theme & I think people should be more open-minded about it, of course not every store will provide with the things you find but its always a question of Luck. And as you just said, it depends how you see or look at things. Greets and Hugs from Germany.
I agree with you so much at the end! in the UK we have something similar, but usually smaller, called charity shops where I've found about half of my huge Disney plush collection! my favourite thing was Flora from Sleeping Beauty as I never thought I'd own her!! some people get a bit judgemental when I tell them or show them the stuff I found in charity shops but it doesn't bother me! it's a win-win situation: the charity receives the money I donate and I get cool stuff for a really low price

When I worked at Goodwill, our toy section usually looked like Savers', even though we kept cleaning it. You're right, though, it is the parents' responsibility to teach their kids to clean up after themselves!
Dollastic I love your videos, and I want to tell you that I live in Atlanta and here there is not much thrift store with toys, they have very few toys, here is this village value that I think is the same company as Savers but never have toys like stores that You go and I can see in your videos, you show great things that I would love to buy. I always go, I look for toys of Mcdonalds of the 90 ', or dolls but it is difficult to find in the stores here toys.

The first doll that you got with the purple outfit of part of a Disney Elves and Fairies series. They were released when I was young so I can't remember the official name but I used to own two of them! One of them being the one you picked up!

I always enjoy watching your thrift hopping videos. My parents do not like thrift store, for the reasons you have mentioned in the video. Though the thrift store in my area are not the greatest in condition. But I do think thrift stores are cool because you never know what you'll get and it could be for a good price.

Oh we often go to Goodwill and we found so many lost treasures from Disney ... unbelievable! the best thing I found was an old Mickey Mouse phone from the 80s and a huge snow globe of Mickey as a magician ❤

Yay! I'm going thrift hopping today too!! :3 most of my 800+ LPS collection is from thrift stores, flea markets, etc. I have only bought three on eBay and a few I got from trading! Check out your thrift stores! You'd be surprised what you can find!
Thrifting is my aesthetic. I love finding amazing deals from second hand sales, be it from a shop or car boot sale or buy and sell pages. My favourite treasures were Disney Animator Mulan, Cinderella and Rapunzel for £5 each! Mulan and Cinderella even had their shoes and teddies!

I love going to Salvation Army. The last time I went I found a Sofia the first doll and one of those huge bratz baby dolls both for 99¢ their hair had to be washed but it was no big deal, they also had one of those big My Life As horses from Walmart I think it was $1.99 it still worked perfectly and just needed a good brushing to de-tangle the main

in the uk we have charity shops, i have found so many of my daughters clothes, toys and books in those shops. also all my books and some of my clothes are from charity shops x I l9ve a bargain hunt...totally agree with you x

10 year ago found a 70d's 5 piece bedroom set for $60. I hubby thought I was crazy the stain looked bad & the scratch very bad. We stained it cherry brown. Hubby thinks it beautiful
