Thank you for posting this. As I watched this I cleaned mine. It was my father's first rifle which he got for his 9th birthday in 1940 and taught me to shoot with in the 60's. So many wonderful memories.
We're probably around the same age. Just getting ready to restore my dad's boyhood Springfield 87A - he was born probably less than a year after your dad.
