My daughter got tested in 1st grade but they said she doesn't have dyslexia although we still believe that she does.
But she qualified for services at the school because of a "specific learning disability" , i requested another ARD meeting to discuss about getting her more help in reading and writing

I did think writing letters and numbers backwards was a sign of dyslexia. My daughter has a difficult time spelling, writing, sounding out words and syllables. She was diagnosed with dyslexia when she was 10.
