What NOT To Do When Using Decodable Texts

Decodable texts are great to use in Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade classrooms so that students are seeing phonics patterns in the context of reading. There are definitely some things to do, and not to do, when it comes to decodable texts though!

I would really take a look at why they're bored - could the text be too easy or difficult? Or maybe the text topic isn't engaging?
