Good overview of the process! Thanks! About 2 weeks ago, my wife suggested we get a drone to check our roof - we live in Houston, and between the high winds storm a couple months ago and the hurricane more recently, she wanted to check for damage. Having a 2 story house, she didn't want me to get on the roof. I have a cheap drone, but we needed something dependable. I bought the DJI Mini 2 SE and love it. I used it to get close up video and images of the roof, and did find a couple holes that need addressing. Over the past week or so of flying the drone just about every day, I have decided that I would like to get into using it commercially - either doing roof inspections or surveying land, or whatever. I just want to use it to help others - and make some money. I just retired after teaching for 21 years, so I felt this is the direction I want to go in. Having played with RC cars and trucks since the early 80's (and still do :D), the operating function of the drone is similar, and very fun. So I purchased the course through Altitude University to help me prepare for the part 107 certification exam. So far I'm learning a lot and really enjoying it! I'm very nervous about the test, because I generally don't test well. But I'm confident that with your course, I will have the knowledge and practice necessary to pass. And with videos such as this one, I will gain experience in processes such as roof inspection that will help me achieve my dream - have a ton of fun flying the drone while making money doing it. So thanks again for this great video - I am looking forward to checking out more of them!

Thank you for taking a look at our content and for putting your faith in our course. Many people worry about taking the exam but feel good that there is a very high pass rate. Students who use our course (now over 18,000) have over a 99% success rate of passing the exam on the first try. The course has 5 practice exams that you will find are very similar to the test. If you are doing well on those, you can rest assured that you will go to the exam ready. If you have any questions along the way, feel free to reach out to me david@sdaltitude.com

@@davidGTI I use DroneDeploy, but it is expensive. You can probably get away without using Pix4D or DroneDeploy for basic roof inspections. DroneDeploy has a free trial so you way want to sign up for the trial around the time you can book an inspection and use the money for your first gig to lighten the sting of the first month's fees. I hope that helps.
