I got 7.5 and let me tell you guys you dont need to worry even if you use simple english cause i spoke without using much fancy words but still managed to get a decent score because i was confident and less nervous also my examiner was really sweet that also made me speak comfortably.So,be confident guys and you'll be able crack it!
Thanks, Keith for your videos on Speaking tips. I recently took my IELTS exam on 30th January 2022 and I scored band 8.0. For future test takers, I will say just be natural don't force yourself to use uncommon words and complex sentences, just take this test as a normal interview. Make sure you can communicate effectively whatever you want to say. During the conversation if you can use some good synonyms and can make complex sentences it's good, otherwise, just relax.

@Keith: India, a society is referred to the group of flats in the local neighbourhood or township that you can say. It is not the literal 'society' here. We refer to it as a "housing-society", cluster of flats grouped together.
I gave my speaking test on 20 nov and I got 7.5 in speaking I want to tell u guys that although these videos might help you ...you must need confidence to speak. I didnt watch any speaking tutorials...As according to me these videos might make you more confused.i used my natural accent and confident through out the test and was smiling. One more important advice is you should keep talking until the examiner stops you..dont think too much about the grammar and pronunciation

@@SprayGoDPlayz Just be natural, don't try to imitate others because that way u will end up messing it. And most of all relax. For reading and listening you must concentrate a lot, also for reading use a timer when practicing at home so that you can know if u r able to finish the paper on time or not and improve urself accordingly. Writing like many other seems to be the most difficult part for me, especially when it comes to crossing the mark of 6.5. Personally, I got a lot of help from watching this channel known as IELTS advantage, they have some amazing tips and you can also look up types of paragraph structure for task 2 on E2 advantage. I hope this is helpful.

This speaking was so natural but in Punjab speaking Examiners specially native Indians, I don’t know what they want ? I wish they could make speaking as natural only . If I have given my speaking like this they could have possibly given me 5 .
Dear I have also scored 7 but It was 2 years back from Chandigarh too.I spoke naturally , I recently gave exam by following new things like idioms , complex sentences which I might have not used before and now in Patiala Examiners gave me just 6.5. twice , that was really sad. I always feel confident and motivated whenever Keith explains , the way he analyse English with band descriptors I wish I could get a Examiner like him next time.
In my opinion ielts is very easy . I had to give ielts on a short notice due to some uncertain events so I lacked preparation but I scored 7.5 band overall.
i agree , i mean , I am not being shady or something but she has a lot of crutches and also the intonation + the slight lilt of ( american - brit - indian ) accents is just very annoying . Like she's rolling the R ffs when she's literally saying PHAAAAK , in the brit way .
I took my speaking test yesterday. I was asked questions about museums, written agreements, and making promises. Overall, it went pretty well. I think I was great with the fluency bit and I did not make any grammatical mistakes either. I used complex sentences, connectors and all, and kept it pretty natural. I will get my scorecard sometime next week. Hoping for the best! Thanks, Mr. O'Hare for your guidance. It REALLY helped! :)

Same here I got 7.5 on my Speaking Test on-site in the British Council a while back. I also got that question "What kind of housing do you live in?" Probably would have gotten a higher score if only I've discovered this sooner. This is such a beneficial channel.

I just want to share all the questions i was asked to to help somehow. Again thank you very much. ☺️ part 1: do you work or do you study? How do you see yourself after 5 years? At this moment in your life what do you think is your most achievement? What do you think is the best age group? Do you know a famous person? Part 2: describe a person who taught you a new skill when you were a child.. Part 3: is learning a new skill from other person better than learning alone? What skill should a parent teach to his/her child before entering school? What benefit does a child get if he/she learn a new skill from another child?. ☺️

Very accurate feedback and suggestions, she done a great job too and piece of advice "not to stress too much" is a valuable suggestion again.
@Keith: India, a society is referred to the group of flats in the local neighbourhood or township that you can say. It is not the literal 'society' here. We refer to it as a "housing-society", cluster of flats grouped together.
I gave my speaking test on 20 nov and I got 7.5 in speaking
I want to tell u guys that although these videos might help you ...you must need confidence to speak.
I didnt watch any speaking tutorials...As according to me these videos might make you more confused.i used my natural accent and confident through out the test and was smiling.
One more important advice is you should keep talking until the examiner stops you..dont think too much about the grammar and pronunciation

@@SprayGoDPlayz Just be natural, don't try to imitate others because that way u will end up messing it. And most of all relax.
For reading and listening you must concentrate a lot, also for reading use a timer when practicing at home so that you can know if u r able to finish the paper on time or not and improve urself accordingly.
Writing like many other seems to be the most difficult part for me, especially when it comes to crossing the mark of 6.5. Personally, I got a lot of help from watching this channel known as IELTS advantage, they have some amazing tips and you can also look up types of paragraph structure for task 2 on E2 advantage.

She used the phrase 'YOU KNOW' repeatedly, it makes discomfort while listening to her, but as a non native speaker everyone has their flaws in speaking English, except that everything is good as a non native speaker, her advices are also really helpful, thanks for this video Keith sir

This speaking was so natural but in Punjab speaking Examiners specially native Indians, I don’t know what they want ? I wish they could make speaking as natural only . If I have given my speaking like this they could have possibly given me 5 .
Dear I have also scored 7 but It was 2 years back from Chandigarh too.I spoke naturally , I recently gave exam by following new things like idioms , complex sentences which I might have not used before and now in Patiala Examiners gave me just 6.5. twice , that was really sad. I always feel confident and motivated whenever Keith explains , the way he analyse English with band descriptors I wish I could get a Examiner like him next time.
Due to Covid 19 examiners are appointed from same city only .
In my opinion ielts is very easy . I had to give ielts on a short notice due to some uncertain events so I lacked preparation but I scored 7.5 band overall.

I don't think we can get 7.5 if we speak like her. Or may be it depends on the evaluator as well.
i agree , i mean , I am not being shady or something but she has a lot of crutches and also the intonation + the slight lilt of ( american - brit - indian ) accents is just very annoying . Like she's rolling the R ffs when she's literally saying PHAAAAK , in the brit way .

I took my speaking test yesterday. I was asked questions about museums, written agreements, and making promises. Overall, it went pretty well. I think I was great with the fluency bit and I did not make any grammatical mistakes either. I used complex sentences, connectors and all, and kept it pretty natural. I will get my scorecard sometime next week. Hoping for the best!
