Harry never got his wings, after 3 years of trying, he couldn't pass allegedly, so he never got his pilots license. Harry a living legend....only in his own head IMO
It took Harry 3 years to complete a 2 year course & in the end he was awarded a co-pilot licence, not a full pilot licence. Also he hasn't "co-piloted" a helicopter since he left the army in 2012 - he has more hours in the air as a passenger on a private jet. Is that what makes him a "living legend". 😂😂😂
King Charles is a pilot and flew helicopters Prince William is a pilot and flew helicopters as a Search and Rescue pilot and then as an Air ambulance pilot. Prince Philip, Queen Elizabeth’s husband, flew aeroplanes and helicopters. Harry couldn’t pas the exams though he’s always happy to let us think he has. What a guy !

Absolutely. I noticed that the safety factor you mention kicked in after Spare was published. Although one newspaper did run an article about MM being a toddler princess a few months earlier, I think little happened until Harry became fair game via his book. That's when the honesty about him began to surface and I think that happened because, being a white priviliged male, it was easier to use him to open the door to criticism than to start the ball rolling with her.

I believe for safety there is supposed to be one other on mission who can "fly" the helicopter. Pilot and flyer are not the same. The basics of flying are not the same as being a pilot in "command", having the judgement and critical skills for that.

There was something so uncomfortable about Patrick being so public with his support of M. You could tell at the recent awards ceremony when M was mentioned by an interviewer his wife’s smile instantly dropped. It just made you feel uneasy to watch. Our daughter attended Sandhurst going when she was 24 after 4 years at Uni; a year living in France and working for 2 years - I can honestly say the selection process is brutal in itself (& the 44 weeks training worse) and you need to have the life skills and experience an average 18 year old wouldn’t have never mind the academic knowledge
Letting aside that unbelievable part on 25 killed talibans (unresponsible way to put a target on the back of any British soldier and of his own family, as coming from a member of RF...), there are those parts of the book in which he tells, as it were normal, how he was being protected, during school and military service, from being cought in drug abuse. How his being royal preseved him from being checked in his behaviour as any other soldier is. I don't know how serious had been his commitment in service (I doubt it, frankly, and even for reasons which aren't his fault, 'cos it probably was simply to dangerous for him and his companions to send a prince in the front line...). But for sure what he told in his book was so irresponsable, so damaging for the reputation of the Army, so embarassing, that no one can even dare to consider him worthy of to be listed among heroes, or even simply among people who did their duties. Even after service, there's a code of honour that a soldier must follow. Harry absolutely didn't, and now he has to face consequences. And he can blame only himself, for that...

He was so HEAVILY guarded in the air,Helicopters above,in front,behind,with a ground convoy underneath how would he do his job without bringing down friendly aircraft. One of the senior men at the time has come out and said they did everything they could to stop him going out there and explained to him it would be putting the men out there in danger. I'm 73 years old, and I remember the news media reporting on Harry when he was in school, and when he went to Sandhurst. And even back then those reporting the news questioned how he managed to get into Sandhurst and agreeing that it was only because he was the Queen's grandson that he did. I remember all the videos photos and reports on him being in Afghanistan. It was reported how protected he was, and that he never went on any missions but sat in his tent playing video games on his play station. And as soon as the fighting got close to where he was, he was flown out toot sweet. He's had everything handed to him because he hasn't the mentality of his older brother whatsoever.

While raised a royal, I don't think he was raised to be selfish and entitled. His grandparents and father are all about service and duty. And his mother kept them real, taking them to homeless kitchens and ordinary every day places. And Diana shot back "I'll give you a special smack if you keep talking like that!" She was joking of course but she was also not raising them as spoiled snobs. Prince Harry FAILED the pilot's examination so at best he 'co-piloted' Apache helicopters. So it's a stretch to call him a legend of aviation. Also, it is rumoured that his teachers at Eton 'helped' him with his coursework that count toward the A level qualifications here in the UK, and even then he achieved low grades, certainly not enough to warrant a place at Sandhurst...

William was probably in more danger flying air sea rescue, plucking someone out the sea in stormy weather is dangerous. Bruce Dickinson is more deserving as a living ledgend in aviation, flew commercial flights, including repatriation flights, lead singer for Iron Maiden, expert fencer, went through a war zone to do a concert in the former Yugoslavia. Setting up an aviation business, he is more qualified for such an award than Harry. Think Bruce was also in the TA at school

Harry is not a legend in any area, that is without question. Both he and Me-gain are strictly legends in their own minds and their own minds only. Meghan never wanted to become an actress either, imo. She really seems like she just wanted to be pampered and spoiled all day. Absolutely. I noticed that the safety factor you mention kicked in after Spare was published. Although one newspaper did run an article about MM being a toddler princess a few months earlier, I think little happened until Harry became fair game via his book. That's when the honesty about him began to surface and I think that happened because, being a white priviliged male, it was easier to use him to open the door to criticism than to start the ball rolling with her.

I believe for safety there is supposed to be one other on mission who can "fly" the helicopter. Pilot and flyer are not the same. The basics of flying are not the same as being a pilot in "command", having the judgement and critical skills for that.

It’s actually shameful that Harry was allowed to enter Sandhurst, and surely gave him reason to believe he had earned that right.

Our daughter attended Sandhurst going when she was 24 after 4 years at Uni; a year living in France and working for 2 years - I can honestly say the selection process is brutal in itself (& the 44 weeks training worse) and you need to have the life skills and experience an average 18 year old wouldn’t have never mind the academic knowledge
And Mm's uni finally came out and said she _NEVER_ achieved the double degree she claimed, which she all knew 😂PaulaM

Letting aside that unbelievable part on 25 killed talibans (unresponsible way to put a target on the back of any British soldier and of his own family, as coming from a member of RF...), there are those parts of the book in which he tells, as it were normal, how he was being protected, during school and military service, from being cought in drug abuse. How his being royal preseved him from being checked in his behaviour as any other soldier is.
I don't know how serious had been his commitment in service (I doubt it, frankly, and even for reasons which aren't his fault, 'cos it probably was simply to dangerous for him and his companions to send a prince in the front line...).
But for sure what he told in his book was so irresponsable, so damaging for the reputation of the Army, so embarassing, that no one can even dare to consider him worthy of to be listed among heroes, or even simply among people who did their duties.
Even after service, there's a code of honour that a soldier must follow.
Harry absolutely didn't, and now he has to face consequences.
And he can blame only himself, for that...

He was so HEAVILY guarded in the air,Helicopters above,in front,behind,with a ground convoy underneath how would he do his job without bringing down friendly aircraft. One of the senior men at the time has come out and said they did everything they could to stop him going out there and explained to him it would be putting the men out there in danger. He didnt do a full tour either it was just a few weeks both times and yes he was flown out during drug testing as he wouldnt have passed it

I'm 73 years old, and I remember the news media reporting on Harry when he was in school, and when he went to Sandhurst. And even back then those reporting the news questioned how he managed to get into Sandhurst and agreeing that it was only because he was the Queen's grandson that he did. I remember all the videos photos and reports on him being in Afghanistan. It was reported how protected he was, and that he never went on any missions but sat in his tent playing video games on his play station. And as soon as the fighting got close to where he was, he was flown out toot sweet. He's had everything handed to him because he hasn't the mentality of his older brother whatsoever.

While raised a royal, I don't think he was raised to be selfish and entitled. His grandparents and father are all about service and duty. And his mother kept them real, taking them to homeless kitchens and ordinary every day places. Prince Harry FAILED the pilot's examination so at best he 'co-piloted' Apache helicopters. So it's a stretch to call him a legend of aviation. Also, it is rumoured that his teachers at Eton 'helped' him with his coursework that count toward the A level qualifications here in the UK, and even then he achieved low grades, certainly not enough to warrant a place at Sandhurst...

Your take on Harry and Sandringham academy and of course this new award was brilliant and I totally agree that this award that Harry is getting on the 19th is bogus to the hilt. I feel bad for those who receive the word prior to those statements about being a celebrity and a pilot or being a pilot and then becoming a celebrity. When you're in the company of astronauts who've trained for years and years and years and the competitiveness of becoming an astronaut it is just so disgraceful that you would allow somebody like Harry be on the same level.

Not to mention that some person missed out by being the 101st choice to be left out because Harry bought a place in line.
They should separate out the last 2 "criteria" pilots/celebrities and make it a different "award" The Legends award should be based on actual achievement or contributions.

I’m going to have to disagree with you regarding what you said about haz not being responsible - 'it wasn’t his fault, he’s a prince' - OK sure, he’s a prince, however, King Charles went to Sandhurst, he did all the military training, he’s a qualified pilot, he even did parachute training as he said he would not have been able to face his fellow comrades if he hadn’t, besides all the ather training he did, and did well. He didn’t turn out to be a cad or a traitor! Prince William also attended Sandhurst, he’s a qualified pilot who was involved in very dangerous air sea rescues, he didn’t turn out to be a cad or a traitor. Even Prince Andrew, for all his faults, is a qualified pilot and is an actual war hero! No, it's harry’s fault and as a prince, he should know better - he may be a Royal but he’s a shit human being!

Bruce Dickinson is more deserving as a living ledgend in aviation, flew commercial flights, including repatriation flights, lead singer for Iron Maiden, expert fencer, went through a war zone to do a concert in the former Yugoslavia. Setting up an aviation business, he is more qualified for such an award than Harry.

I ccouldn't agree with you more that organizations like the one that's presenting Harry with this bogus award have cheapened the meaning of "legend". Harry is not a legend in any area, that is without question. Both he and Me-gain are strictly legends in their own minds and their own minds only. Compared to the Sanhurst book, this award is such a joke (but appropriate for two people who are laughing stocks).

I burst out laughing when the story came out that MM got an invite, but had 'another engagement'... I will never believe it!! If she got an invite to the Golden Globe Awards, she would be there early, waiting for the doors to open!! And would have they had that joke ready if H&M were going to be there????? Again, I don't think so!! ...And she invited the Cast to spend their money to fly to UK for the wedding (Look At MEEEEE!) and not the 'after party' she just had all the celebrities she wanted to network with, for when she got back to Hollywood (it was always her plan), but Gina Torres comment was Gold, "we just don't have her number"... we know that she ghosted them after the wedding, she had no more use for them, she'd got every drop of juice she could out, so they were dumped!!
