Loved the video!💕 Just started my comic book collection and found Toon Haven. They offer a huge variety of digital comics for every genre, and lifetime updates too!😍
First off, I've enjoyed your content for sometime. You're upbeat, fun, and positive so great work there! I started my channel over a year ago in an attempt to help folks who might live in "The Middle of Nowhere" like myself, to find reputable, fairly priced dealers online. You'll never see spec or top ten on my channel. Just not my thing but to those who enjoy it, have at it. Along the way I pick up books, many with historical significance, and explain why I enjoy them or their importance to comic history and if applicable, their cultural significance. I loved hearing your take on Spawn. Same here, grew up with the movies and remember buying the comics. Those books you showed were beautiful so thanks for sharing them. Lastly, long live Beavis and Butthead!
Thanks a ton, this was super helpful!
That Sticky Goose video was hilarious. I use my channel to show off my collection, and I end every video with a key issue.
Thanks for sharing this, truly excellent content!
Within the next couple months, I will be starting my own channel where I will be showcasing my collection (14k+) box by box, week over week, explaining fun details and info of why the books are in the collection and also take the viewers on my journey to cull down the collection and decide what will be sold, I’m hoping for an all encompassing experience for myself and the viewers together, hopefully you’ll find it and it might be up your alley!!
Best of luck! I'll be watching
Back in '97 i was trying to get back into the hobby for some reason, so i went the my LCS. Not knowing anything about the current releases, i just picked up my old favorites, including Spawn. Sitting there on the rack was a black/white spawn 1. I had no idea why there was another #1, but i grabbed it at cover price just because. Now its on my wall, signed by McFarlane in yellow, graded a 9.2. it would take more $ than fmv to get me to part with it
sweet!
If you like comics history I have some recommendations: The first comic-related YT guy I found when I got on YT was Sean @ POP COMICS> He is very knowledgeable and loves comics and Pops. Also great is Mike @ LUNCH MONEY COMICS , he goes to flea markets/ antiques shops " looking for comics in unusual places. He's fun and personale. Also good is Sasha @ CASUALLY COMICS> if you are interested in the history of comics, Saha should be your first stop... Hope these are up your alley!
Collectibles dad for life!
Stickygoose getting innovated. I loved that. Keep it up dude.
Whoops, I meant innovative
🙌
Great video, appreciate you sharing it!
All these RUclipsrs having a Dig at each other! Love it!
Great show guys, thank you
ill definitely try that, thanks!
I've been trying to showcase what someone 30 years out of the hobby is now trying to collect and read....so much of this is nostalgia, but man oh man....these modern books -- these independent comics?? Amazing stuff too! I never would've guessed it was possible in comics. The beautiful variant covers?! Technology to catalog your collection!?
Anyway, it was nice to stumble onto your channel, and this video!
Yeah, I agree with your comments on Sticky Goose. I have taken him to task on a few things now and then, but overall enjoy his sarcastic and self-deprecating humor and style.
wow, great video. thanks so much
I just like old comic books, plain and simple. I've been a long time collector and I've taken some breaks from the hobby for various reasons, but because of the long history it just keeps pulling me back. I've gone through the B&W indie implosion of the 1980s to the speculator bust of the 90s. It's great to see the number of comic book content creators out there (plugging myself here too) but yeah, it would be great to see more of a variety, especially promoting reading comic books (new and old) in an interesting and engaging way. But, drama sells - much more than digging out my Classics Illustrated to show how terribly unpopular they are ;-)
For non-dealer perspective and truly geeking out on comics, i like @ComicCollectorGeek
Can't wait to start my collection
In just 2 weeks: 7 new journey into mystery 83, 2 new Hulk 1, 5 new FF1, 6 new Avengers 1, 7 new ASM 1, and 5 new Tales of suspense 39 added to the CGC census. Imagine how much it will grow by year end.
Are they really new copies or resubmitted books? It’s not something to really go by and I’ve explained how books are resubmitted and labels aren’t sent in and why r we old you? Cgc sees the original grade and more inclined to go by that grade. It’s a flawed system and the current census system count needs to go its not legit
Fantastic vid!!! Thanks a lot!
very helpful, worth the watch
If you ever would be interested in doing an interview, I would love to interview you on my channel.
Yes! Sounds like a good time. My email is in the video description
You can’t go by a census so many books are resubmitted and labels are not sent in to be taken off and it’s crazy to not realize books are recycled through cgc after pressing ,cleaning, removing restorations etc…It’s not a legit system 🤷♂️
Everyone goes by the census even if it’s not accurate.
@@DanSchawbel well that’s a mistake
For the most part it’s relatively accurate.
@@Comicbookyoutubersrock absolutely not true and I just stated why 🤷♂️
@@nickhall9086 But it’s absolutely true, because who the fuck are you to say otherwise 🤷♂️. Some random RUclipsr, congratufuckalations. I put about as much importance on your feelings as I do a wet fart.
Great video and take as always. Your videos ARE different, which is why I watch and subscribe, so please keep up the great work. I do agree, we need different RUclipsrs who are talking comics and collecting. A lot of them just rehash the same things, keys, prices and whats hot. Or, as you said, they are dealers, which is cool, but again, redundant. I find those who post videos of their comic hunts much more entertaining and I get to hunt vicariously through them at places. Their enthusiasm comes through and makes me even more excited for my next adventure. Show me some cool covers Ive never seen, tell me about stories in these books I may have not heard of. And maybe talk about something other than superhero keys all the time? I collect vintage horror comics and magazines, but I hardly ever see or hear much about them in the videos Ive found. Maybe thats too niche? I don’t know, Im new to collecting comics. Anyway, thats my 2 cents worth, take if for what you will.
Appreciate it!!
Do you ever run into Regie collects who lives there.
no I haven't yet
Didn't he stp posting 1 month ago ?
Where did you get that great Batman shirt?
I think off of ebay
Ok, I’m challenged. I subbed.
Appreciate it!
Smart man with that Luka art on your wall
Mr. Supply is your brand 😀
Check out comic book hit list.
Is that a wall frame for slabs? Where did you get that?
Not sure which one you mean, the frame behind me is a comic strip signed by Matt Groening
@@collectiblesdad I'm referring to the signed Spawn comic, which appeared to be in a box-frame for a slab
@@popsequentialism7213 ooohhh yes the comic I showed. It's a prototype for a SlabMag comic book slab protector. Coming soon!
I was subscribed to Sticky Goose for a while, but he's a jerk, always complaining about "woke".
Those type of people are pathetic.
Greaaat
That Bat symbol is way too big my dude. Just doesn't look right.
"That's what she said..." You set that one up perfectly! lol
