I’m a Madonna fan and have been for a long time. I’ve watched the filming of the tour in its entirety. I don’t know, it sort of felt like she was getting pulled/carried around stage and she barely did any actual dancing. I didn’t feel any ‘wow’ moment about anything. The only thing that I felt sad about was when her performance landed on World AIDS Day and she spoke of that and the people in pain and the lives lost. I got really teary about that. I don’t know, I just expected more. Maybe it just doesn’t translate well through video. 🧐😐💁🏻♀️

So, this whole tour basically is a drag queen show where Madonna is like a background lounge singer? This is not what we want. We want the Madonna from the blonde ambition tour who was the star of the show. This is not it. Not by a long shot.
It good that she made a comeback. However Madonna is more of a performer than a vocalist. People go to her show to see dancing as well as some singing. From the clips of this tour Madonna is doing very little dancing she is either sitting or walking back and forth. The truth is that being a performer you dont have longevity with tours and concetts especially as you age and this is a prime example. Madonna needs to retire from touring and just make occassional special appearances on award shows.
She’s also 65 and had knee issues. She’s earned her spot as one of the top artists with some of the best tours. Not worth injuring herself more. I can’t imagine how exhausting putting on this big of a show is.
She sounds great but just disappointed that there’s no live band or backing singers, takes away the live element if you ask me. It’s a bit like Madonna is singing karaoke to her own songs. Respect to her though, the number of hits she’s had is incredible!
