How to apply to graduate programs in US| How to decide on which program to pursue in graduate school

There are generally 6-7 steps to follow when applying to graduate schools in the US. Although these steps do not always follow the same sequence, the first step is always to know the program of interest to pursue. In this video, I describe the key steps to follow in order to apply to Masters and PhD programs in US and also describe how to determine the most suitable programs to pursue in graduate school.

Doc. Let’s say you have identified the programme you want to offer, you’ve searched on schools that offer the program but when you looked through the faculty, none of them specialises in your specific area of interest, how does that affect drafting a cold email?

If it’s a PhD program, most professors will only accept to work with students whose research interests align with theirs. So sending a cold email will likely not have a favorable outcome. I suggest you look at other schools with both program and research interest align with at least one faculty member.
