There is no problem in studying engineering in USA. The only problem is getting PR. For India, there is a 10+ year queue in employment based green cards. And the queue is getting longer each year due to the large number of Indian applicants (backlog) waiting in line. You should lookk into Canada as well.

    • @curious9208

@@curious9208 PR = permanent residency = green card.
With green card, you can't leave USA for more than 6 months without prior permission. Green card can be revoked by USA. Also, if you commit any felony under green card, you can forget about US citizenship.

For job market if you are in IT , software engineering or in general Computer science domain I can assure there there are plenty job opportunities. Also it is much easier to get into product based companies given the fact you have skills.

I had the same doubt nd got it cleared frm talking to my frnds who did masters frm us nd uk...both have its own pros nd cons. Its kinda hard to point out which is good nd which is bad.
Lemme give u a picture. In 1 yr masters you learn everything hat u do in a 2 yr masters programme. The only thing is that, the pace differs,,, it'll be fast paced nd you should get ur heads down nd work hard to keep up with that kind of pace. (I've frnds who had their lectures on sundays) nd they did find it a bit hard to find a balance with their part time work.
On the other hand, here u graduate in a yr and you start working. And while working u learn much more than in college (industry always teaches u more)
To cut it short, it all depends on u. How well u can handle and whats ur future plan.
      Thanks. Hope it helps

International students with F-1 visas can only work in-campus 20 hrs a week serving other students; thus, jobs are very competitive. During summer, you can work fulltime, but most in-campus facilities (cafeteria and bookstores) are either closed or have reduced hours. You can work off-campus only for CPT (curricular practical training) and OPT (optional practical training); these are course related work.

hello! i got a less score in ielts it's 5.5 and cgpa is 7.05. while i looked into the universities all the courses asked about gre {which i took but due to technical issues the institution canceled the test } and i even consulted the agency and they are like you can't enter the universities with an ielts score of 5.5. so what's the best way for me to get into masters. i graduated in mechanical engineering and has no experience. what's the best course of action i need to take?

How does student loans work for an international student for a masters degree? Like for example, if I can afford $20,000 out of pocket for the whole degree, how high can I aim in terms of prestigious universities and total costs? Is it realistic to apply to a university where it's gonna cost $50k and take a $30k loan which I would then try to pay back during the F-1 visa OPT period? Am I correct in thinking that way or am I missing something important? These are somewhat large sums of money for me personally. That's why I feel like I have to make absolutely sure about everything. Thanks.

Do I need to appear for an F1 visa interview if I have a B1/B2 visa or it can be converted without that?
