All these chains got me thinking, maybe the next time I'm making a D&D character I might try making a Wizard that uses spiked chains as a weapon. Might even multi-class him into something else... maybe a Lasher?
Alternatively you could roleplay the various spells as the chains being manipulated like a telekinetic weapon, for example magic missiles being a few of the chains hurtling towards the target like razor wire, a shield being a net of them forming to block damage (and any failure being the attack getting through the lattice), etc.
I feel like the issue with putting the rhino on the knight base is it kind of messes with the scale of the knight, they're supposed to be much bigger than what the model suggests. But it's still a super cool model, awesome job on the conversion!
Very cool I have been converting a chaos knight army for a while. Each knight represents a different chaos god. It's been a blast kit bashing them, I have managed some really interesting conversions, some with very little alterations, while others are insane... Like the knight with the armor and wings off Magnus and the spare double head from the lord of change... But chains are fun, a little frustrating sometimes, but my current project is a chain cloak for my knight tyrant... If my fingers weren't so useless when working with tiny objects, I would consider chain cloaks for my whole army. As is it, I practically want to throw the cloak every time I miss the correct loops to attach.
Saw you trying to cut the rhino at the start. I use an old pair of $20 farrier hoof nippers to guillotine everything. 15 years and they still cut through pinning rods, dense resin, and oldschool metal minis. The longer handles allows you to use however much leverage you need. EDIT: Also fantastic moustache
That is indeed true but is a big problem with chaos knights to begin with... the actual chaos knight set has alot of small pointy things so whenever I would be transferring thiese guys I would have to be careful to begin with... Also spikey bits on chaos feels right
@@MoustacheandMinis fair enough, all though I am not the biggest fan of endlessly decorating a model with skulls and stuff. It's mostly personal taste, but it makes the model look to busy and also a nightmare to paint. 😅
Well in this hobby as in most things you are of course perfectly entitled to your opinion and to be frank to many skulls gets bland... but warhammer has a running theme of skulls everywhere quite often and I in this case at least decided to lean into that.
You given inspiration for my Shadows of Death cult they basically believe in death should be done in shadows and pray to Black Holes they belive these are deaths eyes and as so they need Gaurds for there votexts two of these knights would do nicely
@@MoustacheandMinis why thankyou it's something I first thought when reading lord of the rings like what if instead of a fortous on land it was in space
Well... yes... the Knight tyrant box is just the knight castellan box. You can do a tyrant with just a color change and decals but I don't find it chaosy enough.
It should be it is fairly straight forward to assemble and magnetize knight weapons. I have a video in that somewhere on my playlists but that us another type of knight tbg
No... it is true most of my minis are GW I also have some reaper minis between and some dnd figures. Also some sculpts I've made myself and various extra bits from here and there
Content is great but maybe focus on some cheaper models and invest in some better lighting/camera equipment. The more you put into production, the more you'll get out
It is true I need better equipment, always adding a bit to the collection on that front. Regarding the models, it is true some might be on the more expensive side but I am aswell focusing on what I desire to paint.
@@MoustacheandMinis I understand that completely, I guess i was talking just about content and not what you want and i know it's important to balance those. Keep up the good work though dude, 40k is popping again right now and i feel like theres a space for your personality in the scene
Thank you very much for that and indeed if this little channel of mine does continue to grow so I can dedicate more time and effort to it I would very much like to do other content then just "passion projects" but these days the time I have is limited so splitting up content and personal projects is tough... so there for it is a strange mix of both.
that looks amazingly cool, I would love to see it painted!
Thank you very much and indeed it shall be painted
This is a stupidly awesome conversation, brilliant work can't wait to see it painted
Thank you very much for the compliment

That is perhaps not the best endgame... 🤪

I see what you are saying... but as a counterpoint to that I often feel like the rhino is actually too small compared to the size I feel he should be.
Oh boy! I found another mini channel! One that uses colors!
Welcome here
I'm 3d printing a knight sized plague spewer for mine
Oh niiice
So glad I'm not the only one with the horrible habit of shaping my brush with my mouth. Sometimes I even forget and do it with metallics.
Yeah same here...
Sick F×&@...I LOVE IT!
Hehe thanks
The secret to chaos conversions: spikes, skulls, and chains!
Perhaps not the whole secret but they do help
I lost it with the aero licking XD. Wonderful intro and video
Thank you very much... I am an unapologetic brushlicker so this felt a fitting end to a weird enough intro
How much chain do you want on this one ?
Yes
Indeed🤪
Looks awesome, can't wait to see it painted.
Thank you. Hopefully it will live up to expectations
The Knight looks awesome. Cant wait to see it painted!
Thank you very much
@@MoustacheandMinis Thanks for sharing the Model. Its so cool. Pls Keep up the work ... and the Brush licking. :P
No worries I'm too old to stop licking at this time
This man has a fabulous Ye Olde English boxer mustache, talent and vision in the mini hobby, and an ASMR voice like chocolate. Nice and relaxing.
Thank ye very much
It turned out very cool. I try to be creative with the design of the stands and now I am accumulating material for them.
Oh I agree, these big minis need something a bit extra on the bases
@@MoustacheandMinis I'm raising an army of chaos knights myself. Hammer of Thor, respectfully. I'll sign up for you.

Awesome! You have an interesting way of building models.Probably if not the Chaos Knights the newest box, I wouldn't discover the channel.
Thank you very much. And regarding the new ones, they are already preordered and will be looked at in great detail once they arrive
Wow! Can't wait to see it painted up! Great job!

That is a very good tip... need to get something more potent for hackjobs such as this... in this case just grabbed the nearest thing.
Also thanks😁
Freaking awesome

Well Done 👍

@@MoustacheandMinis thanks what's your favourite part
The mere concept of blackholes being these otherworldly eyes looking in on us from the warp sounds really inticing

This is so cool, have you ever painted Kingdom Death pinups/figures??
Thank you and sadly no, might have to look into those
@@MoustacheandMinis You won't regret it I'm sure xD they are fantastic figures to paint, the Easter pin-ups are currently out on their site
Will deffinately check it out
