I installed it yesterday on a 14-year-old laptop with first generation i5, 8GB RAM, AMD HD5000 series graphics and HDD. It runs slower than Windows 11, the POP Shop search window stops responding, and the installed DOOM could not be uninstalled. First impressions are not positive.
The latest Linux Mint Cynamon edition runs fast on a similar laptop with a Pentium P6100, 4GB RAM and HDD, so it's the distribution that's the problem, not the hardware. I deliberately install Linux on old hardware to check performance. What is more disappointing is the inability to remove the application installed a moment earlier in POP Shop.
