I'm saying this from my Gen Z standpoint but, considering how everyone was completely losing it, I'd say the original game was a masterpiece.
that's an understatement. I think one of the main reasons was just the scale of the game and it being an original star wars story that had nothing to do with the movies. it was our first look into the galaxy back when the sith were still relevant and powerful. if you haven't go check out the old republic trailers and you'll get a feel for why people were so excited.

(I'm literally in love with her btw) and then I saw a cloak and I was like "You are fucking kidding me" and when I saw Revan with a beautiful turn, tears of joy came to my eyes. I fucking love this game and Revan and this era. I hope they won't ruin the original story line. It was perfect.

I am praying that after this game comes out that they start making movies about the old republic. The war between Revan and the Mandalorians would be EPIC on the big screen
Just imagine a prequel series which shows revan's eventual fall to the dark side, when he causes so many jedi to join his cause. That would be so cool. Then the series ends when Bastilla and the masters eventually capture him setting up the beginning of the main story.
@@dranoell7758 that is exactly what I want. First movie, Revan goes against the order and seeks to help those being slaughtered by the Mandalorians, ending with him dawning the fallen honorable Mandalorians mask (after seeing a force vision of her compassion and honor) and begins his rebellion.
Second movie, he begins to amass his army and fights the Mandalorians, wins but is deemed unlikely the Jedi to be a new Sith Lord enemy for also tapping into the dark side.
And movie 3 ends with where the game began

She seems to enjoy hating on Star Wars fans, shat on the Original Trilogy calling it garbage and thinks Kathleen Kennedy's Rancor sized dumpster fire of a sequel trilogy is pure gold. And top it off, she also hated the KOTOR games.

I guess Sony and Disney is making something big in the near future if Sony's PS5 is hosting a classic Star Wars game (originally an Xbox only game), Spider-Man 2, and a freaking Wolverine solo game.
May be during the new Spiderman deal( which increases Disney's share of Spiderman films from 5to 25%) Sony got some exclusive rights of games

You might be on to something. Sony could've made a deal with Disney regarding Spiderman while having Disney allow a few AAA exclusive Star Wars games on PS5. Maybe Disney gets a cut of game sales while Sony increases sales of PS5. That's a win-win for both companies.

Think of any remake game with RPG turn based battle system that have come out unscathed? I’m waiting…none. Kotor will be turned into a fallen order clone. It will be nothing like the original besides picking bits & pieces of the original story. It will be mangled for sure.

I knew as soon as I heard Jennifer Hale say "peace is a lie"! Beyond excited, but there is a lot of pressure. If they fuck up the remake to what is imo the best SW game ever, no one will be able so save them...

I recgonised Bastila's voice, then the soundtrack which is Kotor's before even seeing the outline of Revan, which I recognized before he lit his lightsaber.
Never played the original, but judging from the reaction from people that have, its definitely going to be a day one purchase...Thanks for that - great to see how excited people were to see it.

Watching all these people being filled with instant excitement over a remake for a game that I LOVE, is so lovely!
I love how Star Wars hype will always be a 7/10 on anyone's hype level, but as soon as someone sees Luke, Vader, or Revan, the hype is 66/10 lol! Also, KOTOR came 18 years ago and is still considered one of the greatest games ever made. For 18 years! It's still on the board and now a remake is coming out. OH MY GOSH!

Seeing Revan was almost enough to make me cry when I saw this. These games literally matured me as a kid and I'm happy to see this after EA got cut off.
Never got to play this game, being born in 2004, but I have watched videos on this game and am really excited for this remake because it allows me to experience the thrill of Revan and his story the way the rest of you have.

@@apomtaylor8054 Eh, yeah, it's quite unfortunate really, there's a lot of gatekeepers. I for one played Kotor earlier this year, loved it. Although I've been pumping out my backlog since so even I'd forgotten what Revens mask looked like. I'm happy for the new fans that'll get their hands on this masterpiece.

No. That's not what console exclusive at launch means. It's a confusing phrase and you can thank Xbox for coining that confusing-ass phrase. When Xbox announced that The Medium and Stalker 2 were Xbox Console Exclusive at Launch the same thing happened. Playstation players wondered if they would ever get the game. They are. Medium is already out after a simultaneous Xbox and PC release, Stalker 2 is coming to Xbox and PC first, PlayStation gets it three months after.

Well, there were leaks several months ago and Jason Schreier confirmed them, so as soon as I saw Aspyr logo I knew it was KotOR Remake, but it’s nice to see an official announcement still. KotOR is my 2nd favorite Star Wars game (after KotOR 2 which is top 1), it’s been almost 15 years since I’ve played it for the first time and I’ll be so fucking glad to play a remake

I’m just a casual fan, never played the game but came across the cinematic scenes a few years back and immediately was amazed. I think it’s perfect cause we are in the generation where we can get gameplay pretty close to those scenes. Can’t wait to experience it for the first time

I thought the Aspyr name and Basila's voice were enough clues but I guess most streamers were too cool to play the original. This video speaks to how big a legacy that game left.

Some of the devs of Ghost of Tsushima and Demon Souls are working on it so I hope the combat system is something new that draws inspiration from each. A new, more complex dueling system would be nice.

The ones who were faking the hype at the title reveal could be singled out by whether or not they freaked out at seeing Revan.
While I'm still interested in the game, after hearing the drama serounding a certain lead writer, my expectations have lowered significantly, but that doesn't mean I'll ignore it completely. I mean, all we've seen so far is this teaser, so Im hoping to see how exactly they changed the game before I raise my pitchfork.
