For a character that's so wild and out there, he is arguably the most grounded and realistic of the the academy, and I think you showed that perfectly :)
I cried way harder for Klaus than I did for any other character’s story line. There was just something about his that was just a little more relatable. He had the isolation that Luther and Five had, loss that Diego had, exclusion that Vanya had, and couldn’t see the one he loved like Allison. He had all of his siblings troubles and more. That’s why I think that Klaus’ character is so heartbreaking for everyone. He has a piece of pain that can relate to everyone.
It's also why Klaus is the strongest in my book. He deals with all of this and still cracks a joke when the mood needs lightning, he's the first to comfort his siblings, the first to forgive his siblings, and even after everything his siblings did to him and failed to do for him he still died to help Luther and would probably die for all of them.
Klaus probably the most messed up child, he had to deal with the dead and his father. And I thought Vanya had the most childhood at first. It was clearly Klaus.

I absolutly love how the show portrays both sides of pain with Vanya and Klaus. Vanya, hurted by not being special Klaus, hurted because he's special I think we often forget how much pain Klaus has to bury because he's always the happy and quirky one. So I love this edit because it shows his pain so perfectly that it hurts.

100% agreed. Luther is just a asshole to him and doesn't understand WHY klaus takes drugs. Deigo is amazing to him in "the day that wasn't" and I just love that. Allison loves him but doesn't understand him. Five and klaus are similar but five doesn't want to see klaus suffer, so he doesn't seem to care. Ben is a ghost, kinda annoying but at least there. Characters showcased and crystallised in the prism of your vision and through your skill are my favorite characters. Every study strikes a nerve and twists and turns into itself, showcasing different sides of the subject, and it's making me feel so many things at once! I love him now. Just in almost 4 minutes, I love him. Thank you for telling stories, diving deep and shining the light on it for us.
When he finally got to see his love, my heart was so happy. But when time started to go backwards, my heart shattered. He was so happy in that moment. 😢

I finished the show today and Klaus was by far my favorite character. You did a tremendous job here showing his emotional journey. I feel like it's too easy to primarily focus on the fun side of someone as eccentric as Klaus but you showcase his inner demons so well.

I sobbed my heart out when he comes back to the present after Dave dies. The poor man, constantly suffering and even when he tries to help he's dismissed or abandoned by his siblings. At least Diego tries to reach him when he notices something's wrong.
This edit was both beautiful and absolutely tragic. Klaus is such an interesting character because of the connections between PTSD, need for connection, and drugs. He loses Dave, the one person he loves more than himself, but also finds connection because of Dave who he can then only see if he's off drugs. I really like your choice for the last shot in this montage, where Klaus is clutching his dog tag right after connecting enough with Ben to bring him and his powers into the theater.
In the last episode where he holds his dog tags, I was sobbing. It seemed that Dave was the only person who understood him and noticed him as something more than just 'stoner boy' unlike his siblings or his Dad. I really hope Klaus gets to see Dave in the next season somehow, that's all I want.

Klaus and Vanya are same. Nobody takes them seriously, nobody really care about them. Nobody cares about their feelings... They have the most painful problems deep inside, what others from "family" do not see. They were both destroyed in childhood and nobody cares. I know, that everybody have their own demons, like Five, but they made them themselves. Five was stupid, alisson used her power even for utter stupidity, Diego needed to prove something and Luther wanted to be blind to his father's mistakes. Vanya and Klaus were locked (literally and metaphorically) and internally torn by their father since childhood.
I'm crying my eyes out gosh... I love Klaus with all my heart! He look so much like me... And during the show, when he lost Dave or when he suffer from PTSD, I was in pain too... His character is so deep and Robert Sheehan was just so perfect! Everybody seems to forget that Klaus is sad and depressed behind all his sarcasm and carefree. Nobody takes him seriously or truly care for him (Except Diego). That's so sad...

I relate to Klaus. it’s kind of odd... but when I was thirteen my depression got so extreme that I hallucinated. they never had faces, but they always came in groups. I could be doing my homework, and look up, and be completely surrounded. I would be having a normal conversation, and all of a sudden they would appear behind the person. they used to whisper, usually “come with us” “help me” “death would be better”... one night a light burnt out, and in an instant I was consumed by their presence. I collapsed on the floor, banging on the floor and screeching for help. the kind of screams that you only hear a few times in your life, pure terror.... but... when my mom came from downstairs, she said she only heard me crying. no screaming, no banging, no sounds other than me crying. I would also black out sometimes, only remembering the fear my body had encountered. my mom said that there were moments where I would turn off, and completely turn in to some*thing* else. she told me she would never forget the time I was under my covers, convulsing, screaming “Leave me alone” at the top of my lungs. the neighbors turned on their lights and peeled out of their windows that how strong my screams were... she said she tried to comfort me, telling me it wasn’t real. but then she said that she got a glimpse of my eyes and although the whites of my eyes were still there, they almost glowed in a way, that’s how dark my iris’ were. a lot of people thought that I was medium, others thought I just had so much swallowed trauma (I was sexually abused at years 6-9 but didn’t tell anyone until 15/16)... I used to take 12 psych meds for it all. luckily, I don’t see them anymore, and i also am at 4 medications now.. but sometimes the paranoia is still there. but sometimes, if I just walk a little too fast, a strangers face morphs.

Luther wanted to be blind to his father's mistakes.
Vanya and Klaus were locked (literally and metaphorically) and internally torn by their father since childhood.

I'm crying my eyes out gosh... I love Klaus with all my heart! He look so much like me... And during the show, when he lost Dave or when he suffer from PTSD, I was in pain too... His character is so deep and Robert Sheehan was just so perfect!
Everybody seems to forget that Klaus is sad and depressed behind all his sarcasm and carefree. Nobody takes him seriously or truly care for him (Except Diego).
That's so sad...
Klaus is my favorite. Such a sad character, but I'm excited about where they're gonna take him in the new season!

i love this video. even though are tears in my eyes. i think it captured klaus’ worst moments and the fact that he wasn’t just the comedic relief during certain scenes in the show. this video is so well made and i think it really shows his character development and how it changes through the show. very very beautiful but extremely sad xx

I relate to Klaus. it’s kind of odd... but when I was thirteen my depression got so extreme that I hallucinated.
they never had faces, but they always came in groups. I could be doing my homework, and look up, and be completely surrounded.
I would be having a normal conversation, and all of a sudden they would appear behind the person. they used to whisper, usually “come with us” “help me” “death would be better”...
one night a light burnt out, and in an instant I was consumed by their presence. I collapsed on the floor, banging on the floor and screeching for help. the kind of screams that you only hear a few times in your life, pure terror.... but... when my mom came from downstairs, she said she only heard me crying. no screaming, no banging, no sounds other than me crying.
I would also black out sometimes, only remembering the fear my body had encountered. my mom said that there were moments where I would turn off, and completely turn in to some*thing* else. she told me she would never forget the time I was under my covers, convulsing, screaming “Leave me alone” at the top of my lungs. the neighbors turned on their lights and peeled out of their windows that how strong my screams were... she said she tried to comfort me, telling me it wasn’t real. but then she said that she got a glimpse of my eyes and although the whites of my eyes were still there, they almost glowed in a way, that’s how dark my iris’ were.
a lot of people thought that I was medium, others thought I just had so much swallowed trauma (I was sexually abused at years 6-9 but didn’t tell anyone until 15/16)... I used to take 12 psych meds for it all. luckily, I don’t see them anymore, and i also am at 4 medications now.. but sometimes the paranoia is still there. but sometimes, if I just walk a little too fast, a strangers face morphs.
Maddie W-O I’m so sorry for what you’ve gone through. It must be so difficult, you’re really strong. Even hearing about it terrifies me, I hope you’ll make it through.
Wow thanks for sharing I really appreciate it depression is no joke some people try to mask their pain to make them feel better but it doesn't always work I can see why Klaus totally relates to you
