My advice is don't be afraid to cut off toxic people. It's cathartic and frequently they don't have any intention of changing or otherwise bettering themselves.

I got a few of those people around. They seem to intentionally leave me on read but act normal in person. Starring to seem like a low quality friendship to me.

A few months ago i got a disrespectful text from a person i used to consider an acquaintance (at one point i thought we were friends). I used to work at the same company as him. I noticed when i talked with this person i would get frustrated. They were always right. Never admitted when I was trying to get them to see they were wrong about something. The thing that did it for me was a text saying that they thought it was funny how i reacted when i got laid off from my job of almost 6 years!! They were literally making fun of me for not idk laughing it off. That is like the most disrespectful thing you can ever do so someone. Kick them while they are down, that is not a friend at all. After the text I just thought why do i even entertain this. They haven't reached out since and I don't really care. You are right that person has no intention to change.

@TritonTv69420 Most people at work are just work friends. They are in your life while you're there, but will not continue the relationship afterward. Coworkers are viewed as expandable. They come and go often! You can find a few great relationships per an employer but I would temper your expectations. It's a game of numbers now a days

I agree. I have cut off a lot of people last months and I feel like i got rid of so much negativity and people trying to ue me for their own selfish gain. Now I only have a small friend group which are way more supportive in what I do with youtube and streaming compared to those others.

I'm 31 now, and the main thing I learned in my 20s was how to value myself. If you say yes to everything and bend over backwards to do things for people (particularly in a professional setting) they'll walk all over you, under pay you and never appreciate what you do. I had to start saying no, and setting boundaries before people started taking me seriously and paying me what I was worth. Thanks for this video, your story is inspiring and your advice is invaluable for those who still have to walk that path.

I appreciate this 'From the Heart' video Sara. I meant to drop off this video when I submitted my earlier comment - but I just couldn't as you started into this great video.
I am recently retired from my career as computer security professional, and I am now focusing on my 'Golden Years', and working on my RUclips Channel as a person who has been told he has a knack for teaching, trying to help those who do not feel comfortable with computer technology. I have four adult children, ages 33, 37, 28 and 41 (two female, and two male). They are all quite successful in their current careers, and have given me two grandchildren. All I want to do now is help others improve their lives - honestly, and I am always thinking of new ways to help them do that. Take care Sara, and I really wish you, your spouse, and your daughter the best in life. Faith and hard work needs to be rewarded.

i'm 39 now and the main thing to learn from 30's is exactly the same, but with awareness of all the things you have experienced and those you want to live. Work hard, focus on yourself, on your family and of course, dream, dream big, but make it happen.

First off: happy birthday!!! I"m a 56 yr old and got something out of this video! From my experience I can tell you that if you keep that momentum from your 20's and 30's there is no end to what you can do! life is pretty much the same now as it was in my 30's and that's a good thing. I have had regrets about the past and immediately smacked myself into the present as i'm here however imperfect here happens to be!

I’m turning 26 in December and I feeling like I can relate with this video so much I put so much pressure on myself dormice I was in collage . To the point where I feel like I have not really enjoyed the last 4-5 years of my life and think I know what I should do but it’s really scary. Trying to be perfect all the time is not good for any progress at all is what I have noticed .

Sara I am 65 years old and have been a (now it is called) Software Engineer for 40 years. I am here to tell you, for me life has been like a roller coaster ride. Sometimes it is absolutely wonderful and sometimes it sucks. But in general, it keeps getting better and better dealing with stress as you age. As you go through lives' experiences and make it through them in-tack you realize that I can handle this when the next challenge comes up. You also know when to say no and yes much better as you get older. Don't be afraid of getting older, it rocks. I was in a motorcycle accident this year, a bad one. But because of my age I just have rolled with it. If I was 20 or 30 when this happened, I would have worried about so many things that never became a problem to begin with. Keep on creating and doing what you love, and you will live a happy life. The rest of it is none of my business or problem.

29 here and I resonate so much with this. The one thing I will say is when you think you have a dream, see how long it stays with you and act on it when you think your experiences have prepared you. When I was 21, I first got into podcasting about pro wrestling and wanting to cover it and interview folks. Fast forward 8 years, I was able to expand on that dream working with multiple outlets, got to interview wrestlers from TV and independent companies, made my commentator debut locally, got to attend multiple trips as press including a press conference, and just got to finally do work with WWE. It doesn't matter that it took almost all of my 20s to make something major happen. It matters that I didn't stop trying to make it happen. As I'm embarking on my 30th birthday next June, it'll be interesting to see what new goals I'm going to have for this next chapter of life.

Being more emotional after having kids... i can relate. That never stops, it only gets "worse" over time. And organizing your life to be present in time, body and spirit with your loved ones (especially your kids) is a choice I'm most happy with and will never ever regret. The tradeoffs are (in the end) inconsequential.
Thanks for letting me follow your journey for quite some time now. It truly was an intense decade just by watching from afar. Wishing you a great decade to come. Looking forward to the 4 things at 40 video 😏

The last part about being lonely because you were learning a lot of skills really touched deep with me. I had a really similar experience, played a fuck ton of guitar, learned to mix, produce with logic and edit with final cut. It made me fail a lot of school exams and sacrificing 2 years of my education, luckily I was a bit careless and this didn’t stop me from partying a lot with my friends. At 21 I started my career as a TV audio engineer, almost always said yes to every opportunity and I wouldn’t change a thing. Now I’m almost 32 and like you said: “you can’t have anything, but you can have a lot”.
Amazing video a lot of young people feeling lost should hear stories like this one.

NICU families unite! Man that multi-month NICU life is not for the weak! It took so much for us. My wife stayed there and I had the other kid at home so it was like months of being a single parent making scary life-and-death decisions regularly. Happy birthday, Sara Peachy!
The two things I wish I knew in my 20s was...
    - Cut toxic people out of your life including those that talk trash about you behind your back
    - Financial education. We aren't all taught how to do the basic stuff that wealthy people do and that causes a lot of us to be stressed about money.

I am proud to say that I graduated from the usual 6 month recurent burnout, to waking up in the middle of the night with blood pouring from my forehead.
After two months and countless medical tests, the doctors sayd I should sleep more, rest better, less stress, the neurologist recommended church. None told me they would cover the bill :)))))))))
Your doc gives you a 5000 usd bill for a days work, and says: relax.
Everything is getting more expensive Dr. X, that's why I'm working myself to death!!!
So I can't tell you to take it easier, I do believe you did the right thing working yourself in your twenties, to hopefully set you up for a less demanding workflow from now on.
Sleep if you can, nap in the afternoon, if you can....

Happy birthday Sara!! 🎉It was great sharing all these insights with us! Sometimes I wish I had someone in my 20s to talk to me the way you just did, but hey, we all do mistakes in life. Nobody’s perfect, so we keep learning from each one of them. Some people will always be luckier than others, and we shouldn’t be focusing on the others but on how to improve ourselves. There will always be things that we can’t control and things that w can. Focus on the latter…

I am going through this lately as I am 24 and starting to have that mid-20s freakout lol. It seems like my entire early 20s was wrecked by going to college during COVID (I graduated in 2021 but really only had one year without covid as I only did 3 years). Then, I got the job I could in like an admin role and have had such a hard time getting out of it. I had an opportunity in my dream field but I ruined it as the commute was so brutal I had to quit. Now trying again, everything wants experience but won't value the education piece and I am just not an entrepreneur to like run my own thing to "show" I have experience. I have run through so many things at this point that I just need to stick with something but it is hard when you just don't see a path. I feel very all over the place and scattered lol because I just don't want to spend years developing skills for no payoff when I kind of feel like that's what I've been doing.
Not only that lost all my friends, not had a relationship and am still living at home which has made it a very emotional 20s so far lol. Really hoping 25 and after good stuff happens lol

I can't even see my twenties in the rear view mirror any more but I do remember them. I would love to have watched this video as a twenty year old. More power to you, Sara. Keep on doing you.

If I could summarize this video with one word, it would be bittersweet, like many people's 20s.

I wish I just knew myself more when I was in my 20s. I found what I was going to do for the rest of my working life, started and dropped out of college, and started a family. There's only a few things I'd do differently because if I change too much I wouldn't have my wife and son.

I have been following you and watching your videos since mid-2015 and I'm turning 30 in January 2025.
I left my 9-5 day job in June 2018. Went full-time freelance. The covid happened, affected my small freelance photography biz. The AI-happened, affected my online freelance editing biz. Went back to the 9-5 day job grind in 2024 just to try things up and because I really want to invest on an M1 MacBook Pro or at least an M1 iPad Pro or a mini 6 to learn some 3D modeling OTG while doing some photo & video editing work for clients again. (My 2020 Intel MacBook Pro just cannot haha)
Now I'm planning to leave my 9-5 day job again to look for a part-time job because I really started to notice that this full-time 9-5 day job thing, is just killing me big-time because I don't have control with my time and life like I used to back when I was a full-time freelancer, and it's just really not for me. My overall health just cannot take it.
Seeing this video, seeing you talk to us like this, I'm happy to know that I'm not alone. Because I really don't have much "friends". They're more like colleagues to me. I'm almost pretty much at home. But I think I prefer it like that than having to deal with fake peeps. Lol

I turned 30 a few months ago. I spent all my 20's working in the same job, and playing it extra safe. I still learnt stuff, but now I'm 30 and feel like I need to catch up and experience new things (different job, new locations). It sucks a little as I feel like I wasted a lot of time, and most people expect you to have a family in your 30s and start settling down, but I feel like I've only just woken up.

It’s crazy, that I always felt I want kids even tho I was in my 20. as a male and when I told a girl that , they were so fascinated and sayed why can’t my boyfriend say such things. But I never felt like I wasted my time, not often around on instagram and it’s so good. When you see people around you doing stuff and you’re not it’s messing with your head.
