When you hold a hammer, everything looks like a nail. Same with natural features on the trail. When you want to jump, everything is a kicker :) Cheers guys, great videos.
Blakey here needs to be in the next Bond film doing something insane in the Alps on a bike. Like stealing "the documents" and getting off the mountain in style while choppers try to gun him down.
Hi. Noel here. I just want to say that Blake is without a doubt the most interesting & fun MTB commentators ever. His ability to raise enthusiasim for every thing Mtb is awesome😁😁😁
Blake starts out with "Today is a pretty cool day..."Every day is a cool day, some are just more cool than others. And it's a very cool day when I get to watch a GMBN Blake Sampson video.Great stuff.
Dude you're making me salivate to get my skill to that point. I first have to get all the basics so I don't have to think about them. Meaning it is an automatic habit. I just turned 60 and bought a Trex 7 29. Watching you and listening to you in detailed explanations remind me when I was riding dirt bikes tearing it up in my early 30's. Oh crap some of the spills and replacing bike parts always hurt and then healing from the wipeout to go do it again without the wipeout. My experience says master in the minor moves so when you're doing the big stuff you're doing it from all automatic habits from the minor moves. Now your brain and focus is what lay ahead and not tangled in the moves and how-tos.
Fresh and exciting as always. And btw, I recommended Blake's opener (good morning you beautiful people) to my wife who had to give a presentation she was quite afraid of. Had the audience laughing and her relaxing immediately. Thanks a lot on her behalf, Blake :)
Alway pushing the limits would say Blake .. lol Even when we get a little too close of a tree on the side of the trail when ripping down ;-) Take care .. and keep sharing your experience .. just love it .. Cheers !!!
Okay, here is Blake's vocabulary: - a roller - a kicker - a stone - a kicker - uphill section - landing section - spicy section - rocky terrain where every bump can be used as kicker - bit of speed - lot of speed - bit of rock - a place where you'll get punctured - bit of landing - no landing, but no choice - nice landing - bit o landing - quite big - average - quite fast - speed is unknown - quite high - you'd better be high there - freaking cool - freaking cool
I could hear his rims a lot! E.g. 2:37, 2:41, 3:33, etc. Is that usual when riding trails? I always think I've done it wrong when I feel the rims on my xc bike...
early on in the vid Blake explains bunny-hop technique (L-shape body movement on the bike). But when he's riding it doesn't look like he needs this or uses it. He seems to just lift the bike off the ground without changing body position that much. Is this just because he's really good? or at speed is something else going on?
He doesn't directly bunnyhop, but he preloads / pushes down into the jump and pulls up at the top of the lip in order to get more elevation out of the jump to clear the section.
I’ve been riding on fairly tough trails (with jumps) on my £150 Halfords bike. I’m looking for a Hardtail for £650 new or used *what is the best budget mountain bike?*
Blake is that pretty much the last model of Scott Gambler with that kind of suspension and looks? I heard the next Scott Gambler's gonna have a rocker arm linkage.
That's correct yes! We're not sure if they'll reserve that linkage for race models and run this linkage on more budget bikes though. Have to wait and see!
@riverstrat no. Ahahaha is The opposite I have loched out The setup in My bike On The jumps drops or kiks is perfect. . But on The "pump track" sections The fork dosent work... is means loked. This is super fast in corner or kik But is Not efficent on the Mount or Small impact. . I WILL TRY TO MAKE MY FORK MORE PROGRESSIVE
There were many spots when I would do this while racing XC in order to skip rock gardens. Warning this will lead to you quickly catching people who slowed down
sadly i have quick release back wheel so there have been times where i have completely ripped the back wheel out doing stuff like this and landing kicked out
this is so helpful thanks blake. I have recently started a new bike channel I would really appreciate some support. thanks, keep going making these sick vids.
There is nothing in the world that feels somewhat close to launching off a big ass root, clearing them all and landing in between rocks the size of my head..... Tech trails all the way !!!!
Which is better, speed or style? Let us know in the comments below 👇
style all the way
Global Mountain Bike Network speed cuz it makes u have more style
Speeeeed
Speed so you can have more time to session features with style
steez style, no brakes and pedal anyone can be fast, but style? its intelligence.
Love the way Blake says ‘here’😂
It's a hip jump, that I can jump from hiyeah down to theiyah
I was literally about to comment this exact thing. Makes me want to go on a safari expedition and have him be the tour guide. Lol
Now you've said that I can't stop listening to 'hiyeah' when he says here🤣
listen right meow heryah
lmao, this literally made me LOL
When you hold a hammer, everything looks like a nail. Same with natural features on the trail. When you want to jump, everything is a kicker :) Cheers guys, great videos.
Great analogy Calin!
Blakey here needs to be in the next Bond film doing something insane in the Alps on a bike. Like stealing "the documents" and getting off the mountain in style while choppers try to gun him down.
I would love that!! 😂
Hey that would be good few minutes professional material!
I love the fact this is the top comment
Brilliant, you should write that scene Stevie!
Love how Blake says "here"...."Heeya"
He sounds like cartman from South Park.
Hyah!

Blake, your videos are killing it! Great work man, ready to see more.
Davis Sheffield thanks dude. Good team we have over here. Don’t you worry there is more to come
Awesome. I don't know how many times I've seen this, but I keep finding new tips in it. And awesome trail...
When Blake starts off with that intro, I know he's stoked and about to deliver some awesome content. Full Speed Ahead, Bro!

Blake you are a great teacher!
Fresh and exciting as always.
And btw, I recommended Blake's opener (good morning you beautiful people) to my wife who had to give a presentation she was quite afraid of. Had the audience laughing and her relaxing immediately. Thanks a lot on her behalf, Blake :)
Joachim Grammig hey Joachim, RAD I’m glad the presentation went well for her. Oh and stoked you’re loving this content
@@Zimblake so you're inspiring in many ways :) Keep up the good work and ride safe
Doing transfers, riding smooth and making it look easy. I'll take that any day over maximum speed!
Very informative and excellent presentation. I love your energy :)
Glad you liked it!
Looks sooo easy when Blake does it 😮
Always great stuff Blake. . Thx
Definitely look before you leap 😂 I jumped off the side of a mountain in Austria because I thought it was a little gap 😅
Blimey!!
Really good stuff. Thanks Blake.
Alway pushing the limits would say Blake .. lol
Even when we get a little too close of a tree on the side of the trail when ripping down ;-)
Take care .. and keep sharing your experience .. just love it ..
Cheers !!!
I love when you do the kicker then kick your tail to the left and land it on the rock. That looks like such a fun move.
Blake you have been in the saddle a long time, this is what I do on my trials but these are huge my buddy!
Keep these videos comin ova hea 👌🏻
Blake knows how to shred, that's for sure!
This is why we all love MTB 👍👍👍
This heyah is my kind of video Blakie
Okay, here is Blake's vocabulary:

Gotta love them gaps
Blake says ‘here’ with the best style in the game. Sounding like a karate chop. Heeah
Awesome vid n awesome tutorials. Love watching GMBN rocks 🤛🏻🤛🏻
Great video Blake...thanks dude!!!
Love this channel!!keep up the good work

Something else, and you not really need it(altough i didnt watch it) i think when you riding a less is more.
He doesn't directly bunnyhop, but he preloads / pushes down into the jump and pulls up at the top of the lip in order to get more elevation out of the jump to clear the section.

3.6m is my guess.Love the content!
Spicey trail features are the spice of life.
Love your videos keep it up
What kind of protection are you wearing beside helmet and kneeprotection?
!WARNING! EXPERT AT WORK! , love the vids Blake , keep um coming mate ;)
Like ur videos I had a crash and the large Coge persed my leg
Sweet video
Another sick video
Lol at 2:50 when he is calling it a roller even tho the flags tell you it’s a jump
Not everyone gets to ride at a resort and knows what the flags are for
Style as life isn't about the destination but how you get there.
Hi gmbn you guys are amazing you have helped me so much . But with my bunny hops I can’t lift the front wheel up
This is actually one my favorite things to do on a trail, cuz it kind of shows off your speed
What a vid ❤️❤️ keep it up
Does it matter the bike? 27.5, 29 hardtail? Can this be done on crosscountry hardtail bike?
Proper choice of music - like it! 👌🏻
I can risk some scrapes and bruises but I cannot miss work over my funtime! I guess my progression sessions will be low and slow. :(
Great vid loved it ❤️
Love it man
Great vid Blake, I got some great tips from this vid! The accent - are you from Zim?
Gonna go and try these out now, oh bugger its pitch black outside !!!!!!
Who the heck dislikes Blake's videos?!
GCN :D
@@mikieson Could be 🙂
Fuckwits
Is it me or what, but since Blake did the video with Sam Hill his riding is looking smoother than before.
...It's you 😂
I love blake’s accent
You're the beautiful one Blake !!
I wish my natural trails looked like this....

Was this filmed at Whistler Bike Park?
There were many spots when I would do this while racing XC in order to skip rock gardens. Warning this will lead to you quickly catching people who slowed down
Make video about safety riding what are you wearing
What trousers are they please?
the way this dude rides is so steezy
sadly i have quick release back wheel so there have been times where i have completely ripped the back wheel out doing stuff like this and landing kicked out
You're quick release shouldn't release just by landing jumps! Maybe get it checked out!
I like Blake
MisterZhivago WheelieMaster I like you too 😄🤙
The correct amount of "hjyere" in this video! :D
I'm looking ovaa he-aaarrrr and ovvaa he-aarrr XD
How do u do this on a hardtail
Style
Sound like a ninja... classic heeyah
it looks so easy. but in actual its scary! hahaha
Yestarday learnd a new gap
Good Job!
This video pretty describes why/how I ride.
Same here, we don't have many real jumps around where I ride so I just launch off everything possible :)
this is so helpful thanks blake. I have recently started a new bike channel I would really appreciate some support. thanks, keep going making these sick vids.
