The seven islands that constitute Mumbai were earlier home to communities of Marathi language speaking Koli people. For centuries, the seven islands of Bombay were under the control of successive indigenous rulers before being ceded to the Portuguese Empire, and subsequently to the East India Company in 1661, through the dowry of Catherine Braganza when she was married off to Charles II of England. During the mid-18th century, Bombay was reshaped by the Hornby Vellard project, which undertook reclamation of the area between the seven islands from the sea. Along with construction of major roads and railways, the reclamation project, completed in 1845, transformed Bombay into a major seaport on the Arabian Sea. Bombay in the 19th century was characterised by economic and educational development. During the early 20th century it became a strong base for the Indian independence movement. Consequently, since 2014, the length of national highways has risen by more than 50% from 90,000 km to 150,000 km and the length of expressways has quadrupled from 1000 km to 4000 km.
Similar expansion in India's infrastructure has been seen across the board, be it Railways, Ports, Waterways or Airports. Be it Hospitals, the number of seats in Hospitals, the doctor to population ratio, etc. Investment in education as a % of GDP is now at 3% (although still lots of challenges remain). I could go on and on.
Is it all perfect yet? No. Have we caught up with the West? Obviously not. But we have come a long way from our poor past, which is where most foreign news media is still stuck, portraying India as a nation with poor infrastructure. And that has an impact on foreign investment in India. And you think there is "complacency"? Forget "2014", in just the last 5 years alone, India's rank in the "Infrastructure" subsection of the World Bank's Logistics Performance Index has risen from 52 to 47.
You can argue if this happened because of Modi or despite of him, but the progress is undeniably there and it has been undeniably exponential.

This is not mumbai's normal weather....when he visited india there was a dust storm in mumbai ...It is the duststorm effect....It is back to normal now !!!
Mumbai is on the west coast of India, and there are frequent dust storms originating in the arabian desert crossing the arabian sea and reaching on the west coast of India. Thats why the sky is like that in the video. But its not how it looks always.

Mumbai is nowhere in front of Delhi as far as roads are concerned. Delhi roads are anyday cleaner, wider and better maintained than Mumbai roads. Moreover Delhi has got far more greenary with lots of trees when compared to Mumbai. Delhi is a spread out city with very few tall buildings as there is lot of space. Comparitively Mumbai has lot of skyscrapers as it is an island with very less space.
