Wild Camping Sunrise! | The Blorenge, Brecon Beacons | Abisko Lite 1

- Wild camping sunrise above Abergavenny in beautiful Wales with my work friend Alex, using my Fjallraven Abisko Lite 1 on The Blorenge (561m) which is in the South East corner of the Brecon Beacons. Alex suffers from being lazy and so this was the perfect trip for him; he even had his own special car park, closer to where we were camping!
This was the third proper outing in my Abisko, and so far it has delivered. There was some pretty serious condensation this time as the mountain disappeared into the clouds for a while overnight, but we awoke to a superb sunrise, with the Abergavenny lights twinkling some 1,500 ft below us.

Great video camping. Nice one Hadley. 👍
Thanks so much! I plan to mix drone and camping videos.
I’ve been up there! There and back in the daytime - didn’t feel the need to have a sleepless night!
Some lovely shots, Hedley. And well done Alex - will be interesting to see if he ever shows up again!
@@WC21UKProductionsLtd thank you! I hope he comes along more, I am sure he will
That was great.
You had perfect 🌅 I only just found your channel.
Guessing you’ve moved on from Wales now.
I've hiked for a long time but only recently started wild camping.
I just picked a better tent up this week.
This was a good video.
I'm still pretty new to making videos but I'm learning.
I haven't been doing it for long.
I'll follow your journey.
Liked and subscribed.
Looking forward to your next one👋👍
Subscribed back, thanks. I am just starting out so great to get tips from your videos.

Thank you very much.
That's cool. Learn from each other then.
I like watching others and seeing places and sometimes learning something.
Looking forward to your next one👍
@@JamieHarding5 and yours mate. Love wild camping videos.
So good there! Cracking spot. I think almost the same as my pitch a few years ago. Inspiring me to return asap. Great views and hints of colour with a sunrise. Excellent edit. Cheers, Warren :)
@@Linleys thank you so much! Thoroughly enjoyed this spot. Such a long drop to the town!
Only just found this now. Beautiful video Hedley!
@@tweedyoutdoors Always better late than never! Appreciated, it was a sublime sunrise, it felt like the top of the world.
Hi Hedley, Great views from the top.
It sounded very windy so I'm surprised you were able to fly your drone.
I think we need a wild camp calendar so we can decide whether to fly or not!!
All the best!!
@@davidberlanny3308 thank you so much, appreciated. The drone was well within tolerance to be fair, though I didn't take it to the actual camp, I flew it afterwards. Wonderful place to camp, loved it.
hehe Hedley the Boomer. 🤣
Beautiful images as usual. Lovely scenery to watch. I enjoy your videos very much.
@@smallsleepyrascalcat thank you so much, appreciated! Oh, and I think I'm GenX... Haha
yes, we are GenX, but you acted like a proper Boomer there 🤣
@@smallsleepyrascalcat haha yes!!
great video Hedley , loved the views , such a beautiful place, well done and thank you 😊
@@davie941 thank you so much, I loved this trip
I may well be wrong, but I thought Blorenge was the one word that *did* rhyme with orange. Keep up the good work.
@@SimonFairbourn You are probably right, I wasn't sure at the time how it was pronounced to be honest!
Hill, no hillfort... 🙂
@@HillsandHillforts maybe next time, me. ;-)
Brilliant! Where can I sign up for the next one? 😀
@@MicHaeL11 when I manage to get away from work!
@@hedleythorne Don't ask me to cover for you... ;)
@@MicHaeL11 haha!
Hi Hedley mate... Mr WC21 threw me a challenge somewhat.... I was trying to convince the chap that he, you and Tweedy sharing a tandem for a vid would be fun ...Goodies stylee .. He's up for it and I imagine Tweedy would cater for you guys well ....Darren is not convinced you'd go for it...Arrangements would dictate you can sit at the back and let them pedal. A bit of Summer fun..Please contact the chaps if interested (I do suspect Darren thought I'd not suggest it to you) haha!
As a former keen cyclist I am interested! I am happy to pedal as I used to cross he European mountains! That said, I am about twice that weight now... will contact Mr WC21, thanks.
@@hedleythorne That is awesome news mate! It'd make a superb vid for you all. I knew you're obviously a fit as a lop given the tall hills you traverse ...I'd need a tractor to pull me up there. Good on you Hedley!!!
@@philcollinson328 Already reached out to our Tweed-clad antiquarian.
Well done Hadley. I am glad my grandson looked after you, and no doubt forced the booze down your neck. You teach him camping, and I’ll teach him to clayshoot PROPERLY, he will tell you what I mean!!!!
@@gbodman Haha I will mention that to him! He is a good friend and incredibly good at his job- not many people have that level of responsibility by his age but he handles it perfectly. We both needed this camp for different reasons and that sunrise was a real head clearer, I can't wait until next time. Thanks for watching
Nice one, Hedley. “My crotch is burning”: you don’t get this stuff on those tweedish channels. I sense a ‘deadcat’ purchase in your immediate future.
Hahahaha! Well, it did the trick! Thanks for watching Barry, appreciated.
As ever, exquisite camera work. You're an artist Hedley, possibly a bit mad...but an artist. We'll not discuss your burning crotch, sir. A wonderfully entertaining vid mate. Thank you.
@@philcollinson328 haha thank you SO much, really appreciated
