Speechless. I suffered stress related degradation in my executive functioning capabilities. At the time I was in a Christian bubble of work and family members who would go silent or have blank faces if I mentioned mental health issues. “God loves you” , “I’ll be praying for you” became to me a disgusting sound and the devaluation exponentially compounded by instability caused rage and bitterness. I’m shocked that someone with that much hair (🤣) knows exactly what’s happening in the church. Thank the gods you’re here.

Omg....this happened to me and left me devastated.
I suffered from ptsd and Anorexia/Bulimia that almost took my life back in '91. I had several severe traumas in my childhood that manifested mental illness.
The church seemed very supportive while I was hospitalized, but after I was released from the hospital, they did a few sermons on how mental illness was "bunk" and I was in need of adding more prayer and bible reading....and the church clergy could cure me in one visit.
I called them out on it, but they continued their stance....so I left.
I tried other churches and denominations, but it's all the same crap.
I'm grateful I had doctors who helped me and I successfully recovered ....but it was a long road and I give the doctors the recognition and gratitude for being my true strength and support.
I'm so glad to deconstruct from such a dangerous and vile cult.
Thnx Justin for your work and dedication in a badly needed educational safe place.
I never realized how deep the trauma of religion effected me til you and others came along. I thought I was healed, but here I am....still peeling the onion.

Mental Health help must be a priority for any organization, secular or religious and It's a shame it isn't. Really It's up to us relatives of those suffering to find them help...the 1st step is dialing 911... and record everything in writing of the symptoms or manic episodes and more importantly suicidal or homicidal threats...
2nd step if dialing 911 doesnt help...get an involuntarily hospitalization by a judge...
3rd step get ready for receiving your relative after being released from the hospital, becuase he/she might not want to follow treatment, so go back to step 1...
A nurturing home with support from family and friends would help, as well as prayers but ultimately is therapy and medication what works.
Blessings to you'all in your journey

The non religious "spirit community " also thinks the same way along the lines of doctors and psychiatrists. Its just another form of religion made over claiming to be not religious. I grew up pentecostal left that then when i grew older got involved in new age type spirituality. Im now leaning away from that as well because i had realized its much like religion.

“God is a narcissist “ ? Wrong brother, God is empathy” beelzebub is the narcissist. Narcissist seek out to prey on empathetic people so if you were being preyed upon it’s because you have empathy and your empathy allowed it. Empathetic people do not want to see the bad in people until it’s to late. Everything you described about the church is called delusion, not the Holy Spirit. I’m a man of the word of God and I love physiology, I do not hate it at all, because I have empathy, and I seek to fix the broken at the source of one’s problem. The church is made up of broken people as the world as a whole is. God is not the problem, we are, he is the solution. It’s our refusal to take self responsibility that is the main mental issue

Think about it @777clee... narcissists want ALL the attention and adoration. Narcissists often expect perfection even though they themselves are not perfect. Narcissists will harm others with neither care nor compassion. Your god ticks every box here. To claim he is loving without seeing all the evil he performed in the OT does not line up. Please realise god killed 2.4 million people, excluding the flood victims. Satan killed 10 in the OT. He even called sacrificing children to deities an abomination, yet that is EXACTLY what he did himself! He even said on 4 occasions no man can die for another's 'sins'. Love is the meaning of life. Love God with all your heart mind and soul, love thy neighbor as you love thy self. He was alone in total darkness before he created light, and children to love, and love him. To give life, is love, to sacrifice your own life for the ones you love, is the greatest act of love, and why the grave could not hold him. Love the reason for creation, the meaning of life. Brokenness is because of the lack of love which leads to fear and hate, which self destructs and destroys along the way. Love is eternal, everlasting

You: In the beginning everything ways dark. God sat in the dark on his throne for eons in reflective, philosophical ponderance and reflective thought of god stuff - All perfectly normal god prerogative, I'm fine with all that.
God looked around decided how wants company, things are lonely out in space… and he creates us, his cherished children, to love and worship him
      correct?

@@evangelicalsnever-lie9792 yes, God was alone in darkness, not on a throne though. He was the darkness, he said in Isaiah I am the darkness and the light, but he was all love, righteousness, mercy, wise , and just. Love is the most powerful emotion, (and a choice) love conquers all, love gives life not takes it. Love is the only thing that could have always been always will be, because the opposite, hate and fear, sets the course to its own destruction and destroys along the way absolutely. So love alone in darkness desired children to love and Love him. He does not demand to be worshipped, only demands not to worship false idols. How would you feel if your children hated you and loved another? Yes at the end he sits on a throne in light, deservingly for when we sinned, he took responsibility for it, and said, I will have to repent for this which he did in Jesus Christ, his word in the flesh who paid the price, and for that we praise him. For giving us life, and when we lost it, giving his own so that we may find it again. The deceiver in the world is the one who wants a throne and forced worship. You have the two confused

@@evangelicalsnever-lie9792 God is perfection, I’ll explain. Energy, water, are eternal elements, always was and always will be, which in scripture he said he is the spirit of. Good and evil are eternal knowledge, and a choice to be made. Life you can’t measure darkness only the absence of light, or you can’t measure coldness only the absence of heat. To measure death, is the absence of God and love. For there to be a choice there has to be at least two options. Duality. What defines white which is all colors, black which is no color. Where love gives life, absence of sets the course to its own destruction. If death exist than eternal must, and if absence of love destroys itself absolute, than total love would be the eternal emotion. God always was all love, righteous, merciful, and just. He was alone in darkness, wanting light and children, that choose to love him and each other back because it’s the only way to be eternal. God is all things, but he was never evil. Never sinned. When man is killing man it angers him. When man loves another god it makes him jealous. And when innocent blood is spilled it cry’s to him for justice. He does everything in his power short of Tampere with free will to get the people to stop it before he has to stop it, however when he does, it’s 100% justifiable, and because of the love of the innocent not the hate for the wicked. In order for his Children to be in his image is to know both good and evil and make a choice to love.Satan is the father of sin, father of lies, father of murder, the first to want to be his own god and set out to do it his own way. Did God know before he created that Satan would do this? Yes? So than why did he still create him? Same reason he still created you, always had to be, in order for both to exist, a a choice to be present. God is doing everything in his power to loose not one of his children and that is including Satan himself. Joe far all this goes and who good or bad it ends depends on us and our choices
