Awesome that you are offering this service. I use some of the AtmosFx props with projectors but one important thing I noticed in doing displays is the light in the neighborhood. Combined lighting from streetlamps and even other houses can really dampen projector effects unless you have a really good projector. Not sure which would be the best. Might have to construct a good housing to protect from weather and also to chain down to prevent theft if using an expensive projector.

Been using led ws2811 but want to change to projection . Problem is my house is clay color so thinking a little more Lumem on projector ?? Was thinking maybe Optoma GT1090HDR Short Throw Laser??? I have the adobe suite, and this would be easy enough in after effects, just don't wanna shell out $800 bucks for a projector especially since Halloween is canceled in my county.

Why not use a laser mapping projector? Yeah, I know they are very expensive, but it would be easier than tracing out the contours of the home. But if you are on a budget, as most people are, then I guess this is the cheapest method.

If a short throw projector is too much (single mom and can’t afford to spend $800 on an item I use just a few times a year) what would you recommend? I really want to do something special this year with all of the restrictions with COVID.

Amanda Sink I recommended short throw because you don’t wanna move it too far from your house. A cheaper projector could work but you might need to move it to the street to cover the whole house.

I have 4 Christie 12,000 Lumen Projectors with Short , Medium , and Long Throw Lens . I was hoping to do my house but my mom passed away I have been really busy clearing up her affairs . Maybe next year . How many Lumens is your Projector ?

GeoJeff 83 yes I built a protective housing around it with an earth anchor to keep it in the ground. If you want to do something like that make sure you add vents because it will overheat.

Short throw only. Standard projectors won't cover the house, and by the time you do get far enough back for it to do so, you'll lose quality and light.
