I have two "work arounds" for my videos while im low budget. As mentioned in the comments you can get a windslayer foam cover for the gopro if you dont have one. But i think you already do... AND, a Power Dewise lavalier microphone. like 20 bucks on amazon. you can hook it up to them and have their mobile phone record a second audio or video file that you can sink up later in post. Low cost production enhancers. I definitely see the planning and effort that went into this. Very well done.

Took your advice and did pima to morman to national and then cut across down to DC. Fun trail. 2500ft elevation was a knockout but worth it!
