    It's honestly insane how much they kept things the same within the organization because of their whole "continuity" philosophy. That only worked because they had a hall of fame QB in Brees. He WAS the continuity lol. Ever since he retired the franchise had been trying to replicate the same formula but it was just never going to work. Honestly what gets me the most excited about these changes is not just the brand new offense, but it seems like for the first time in a very long time, the front office has finally come to the realization that maybe the old way of doing things is not sustainable. All the changes you've seen so far have been a reflection of that. I've been saying it's time for the Saints to write some new history not re-create it.

    I think Dennis Allen being sort of an easy going guy and not necessarily a culture builder like Payton is ok with me. I think Kubiak and some free agents come here because Allen is that way. Kubiak probably feels like he has more freedom to do whatever he wants because of it.

    Appreciate this James. Subscribed. Just want to say - I paid money for tickets to the Houston Texans game ( I live in Houston, TX) and my disgust was seeing Michael Thomas get wide open and just missed. It was single high safety defense against the Saints the farthest safety out deep just concentrated one side and committed to that one area. Where was the quaterback's coach in the booth screaming to have D. Carr throw the ball? Is that a Derek Carr issue or playcalling issue? I just see Derek Carr still on this team and have some concerns - despite the excellent points you bring up about the change!

      Carr holds himself accountable. In all the losses, he mentions that he missed guys, could have made better throws, and to blame him. At that point, does the coach need to pile on as well? Too many fans keep repeating the "accountability" line, and I'm wondering if they ever even watched the post-game pressers.

    • @dl9232
      @dl9232 29 дней назад

      In any game, quarterbacks miss wide open opportunities. Mahomes, Brees, Brady, Burrow, all of them. That's football. On a new team, in a new division, and with a porous line, those things happen. Did he adjust as the season went on? Was there discernible improvement? Those are the true measures of a good quarterback.
