Great show guys and it was awesome seeing you both in person at Terrificon! Totally agree with Bobby on all these new kickstart toy companies trying to come in and "muddy up the waters" as he put it. Most people have a finite amount of disposable income for their hobby and if you have to tie up hundreds of dollars into campagins run by people making promises who dont know what they are doing or what they are getting into its frustrating especially when new shit drops almost daily by reputable companies that money is better served elsewhere. I think every industry has people like that where they get in over their heads with other peoples money because they think its easy. Ive been in construction for 30 years and you wouldnt believe how many new builders come along trying to make it big on houses and they are so stupid they have to get naked to count to 21.
Still stumping for Bobby to do a segment on toy budgets and what all goes into making a figure, decisions that have an effect on the final product. Good show.

They changed the scale after the campaign and now we won’t ever see the figures on top of it. Some of us don't do crowd funding - especially for large and well established companies! (Hasbro, McFarlane Toys, Mattel) It's useful and helpful for new companies to get off the ground with some great ideas.
I don't know if Bobby said it's on the podcast, but don't forget with that McFarlane spawn Kickstarter, the tooling is already been paid for the figure. Because that figure body is the same figure body that you can buy off of Amazon right now for like $20 or $25. So the only new tooling is the weapons.

I am a fan of Marauder's stuff, but between backing that kickstarter and now I've stopped collecting 1:18 stuff. Getting that email about the refund was the best possible outcome for me, as I just don't have a place for those figures in my collection any more. Too much 1:12 stuff to collect instead.

It was interesting to hear Bobby's posture on AI. I'm a software engineer with 20 years of experience and I can tell you that most people don't really understand AI and why it is not really beneficial for artists or creative people. AI is not a creator, AI basically "borrows" from all the input you use to train it and makes a copy based on the parameters that you give it. So in reality, all it does is make something fake by stealing from real artists. One other thing, how can you claim that something you "created" using AI is actually your creation? In the end all you did was to do a prompt to obtain a result, so if I use the same prompt as you and get the same result, is your "creation" mine as well?
