You made it to 55 workers at 12:00
And you got the eco upgrades.
And you scouted with your king !
I watched the army value between 6:00 - 12:00 on both sides.
You catched up at 14:00
I blame it on the walls. And that the mali player went to castle 1 minute later.
On higher level the attack is going to come.
You need to focus on getting food and get units for defence asap.
You might even skip some farms and go after the dear if its behind your base.
If these timing attacks are coming you might even skip the eco upgrades in order to get units out.
It is the wrong time for walling.
It is time for walling if you are ahead in eco and in military value.
Walling at 14:00 instead of 12:00 makes a huge difference.

Definitely regret my walling choices in this one.
Splitting the army during the raids was the thing that I took away from this game. Simply being able to manage both sides while he was attacking was what won me the fight. Also, if he had dropped a couple trebs or some seige I think I would have been beaten sooner but I was able to mass up and get back into the game.
Every min you left that priest at the sacred sight with the relic, I lost a part of my soul😂

Bruh how often do you face French 😂 I have like zero winrate against them.have a build order that works?
French is a tough match up. I try to go 2TC using the Abbey to get the king out as a DEFENSIVE unit. Get a barracks during the age up and drop 4 or 5 spears. The most important thing I think is to use your scout outside of their School of Cavalry around the 5 minute mark to see exactly when that first knight comes out. If you can track the first few knights, your can defend fairly easily. Going 2 TC means you're going to be defending in feudal for a time but, that's English I think. Goal is to get castle quick to get crossbows that will counter all his special units. My opinion only but that's how I think about the matchup opening.
Here's another idea, rush castle with a few spears and go for Kings Palace to get the 2nd TC. This way you can catch up in Eco and get the crossbows at the same time. ruclips.net/video/20xLAdWFIrg/видео.htmlsi=sd_S-azObY9P4PcB
@@reading_books_aoe4 hmm will try this now thanks. My default is 2TC king for most matchup so will need to practice!
@@oluwatosinoseni7839 honestly same. Mostly going 2 TC king but this quicker castle into kings palace has a place in your openings as well. Against OTD I go exclusively naked fast castle into kings palace simply to get x bows to counter their MAA. Good luck out there!
In feudal you need to build a few outposts (2). To fend off the archers that attack the spearmen.
It's a mistake to produce longbows against Knights.
Spearmen and Horseman work.
