Accidentally clicked a Dermot song earlier, ears perked up and I thought he was new. This is song six in a row and I realize I've heard him before, just didn't listen. Came across this guy when I was trying to move on from a girl that played me while being with someone else. I was at a festival in London and my mate wouldn't stop fussing about, trying to phone people up he knew at the festival and get everyone together. He wouldn't just stop and listen to anyone. Waiting for the main act only. I was getting just overall more depressed and zoning everything out. While rushing to meet someone knew, I heard Dermot singing in this big tent with maybe 50 people watching. I instinctively stopped and listened. It was like a trance. He started to sing Glory and then Moments Passes a song or two later and I told my friend "sorry mate, i have to stay here. I need to listen to this guy more" embarrassingly I was tearing and hiding the fact I was wiping them away. I've been listening, buying and practicing his songs ever since. After Rain has a big place in my heart. Thank you Dermot. You were a part of helping me not only get through something but realise you can stop in a moment and take it in without having to break
A friend told me to listen to this, I usually listen to RnB Hip Hop. When I listened to this guys voice, I have been hooked, Dermot voice is amazing and listening to his lyrics is so captivating you can't stop listening to it. Its so real and things we go through or have went through in our lives. This is good music for the soul

I identify with this so much! I am an only child and my best friend was my sister and my feeling of home. She died in Oct of ‘21 and I have felt lost without a home. He cuts to my soul in the best possible ways of both when I need to face the grief and when I need hope.
Music was our thing and we were at concerts every weekend. It’s hard to go to them now. I am going to see him this coming June. First time going to a concert without her. I believe she would have loved his music and will be there with me.

Me too. Time's got rough for a couple years and she damn near me, like I had the plague or something. Only communicated with me when she wanted money. When times were good she wanted every second of my time.. from the outside looking in it did look like I dropped my dreams in the gutter.. so how could she loved me.. I feel like you should stick beside each other thru thick and thin, not just one everything's rainbows and unicorns. I got several hottest women want a short-term and a couple long-term but for some reason, baby mama has me all kinds of in my feelings. My entire life any situation close to the way it's been between me and her, and how she acted too good for me, I was gone faster than a fart in the wind. I'm not anybody to be ashamed of so I do wonder why I let her get away with that type of behavior. Anybody else I would tell him to get f***** so fast and go on about my life. I fell so in love with "After Rain" when it came up on a Spotify list I had on in the background at work. Not even one full listen and I had to check my phone to see what it was and I've been addicted to that song since. But I was so in love with that song, I didn't even listen to any others. Then I heard this on SYTYCD tonight and I had to find out what it was. I was already thinking, "damn that sounds like Dermot Kennedy." I found it quickly and now I will make myself listen to more and more of his stuff. I AM SO GLAD he was featured on a show so linked with music. I hope it gives him more recognition because he truly deserves it. Both this song and "After Rain" absolutely pull at my very soul. What a powerful and talented artist!

This song means a lot to me. Tells my own story better then I could tell it myself. The love who will forever hold my soul, but has moved on with another never to look back. I let go of my dreams that I was working so hard for, & my promise of a better life soon dwindled for us as I succumbed to the 9 - 5 routine most of us get stuck in, which in turn grew us apart from me working so much, allowing time for another with new promises to slip in. For now I spend my life in a spiral depression waiting for my next life so our souls can come together again.

If you ever have to let go of someone you truly love and years later that person somehow comes back into your life and you still love them and have never been able to forget them or get over them then take that opportunity to tell them that you still love them because that is your soulmate and if you have the chance to spend the rest of your life with your soulmate you're one of the few lucky people that can live there happily Ever After Story, I think this song tells the story of a man who lived his whole life not being able to be with the one person that he truly loved and could never forget, the heartache and longing to be with her hurts him so much that he wants to kill himself... this song makes your soul cry. I know people interpret songs in different ways but that's how I seen the meaning of this song to be.

Dermot is so crazy talented it’s unreal. This music video and all his songs are so unbelievably passionate and strong and true. He’s been my favorite artist for over a year and i can listen to his music over and over and over again without ever getting sick of I️t.
