Awesome video! I would love to see a video where you walk through each of your favorite filters here and which scenarios you like to use them in (e.g., lighting conditions, subject matter, indoor/outdoor, etc).
@@crabicurious Which Cinebloom have you got on there? I CANNOT get my hands on a 5% 49mm one anywhere...wondering if the 10% might be "too much"...currently using a K&F 1/8 black diffusion.
@@crabicurious never heard about FLD Filters before but I bought one he recommended to me from Amazon. I paid like 10€ and the Images I shot with the 50s Diner Recipe are among my favorites.
Wondering what percentage your moment filter is... im torn between 5 and 10....20 looks blown out to me most of the time but perhaps I haven't seen enough. Thanks!
The 20 for me was unusable. Way too much. I used the 10 90% of the time. And since buying the Glimmerglass 1 - I only use that one. Even more subtle than cinebloom 10
Awesome photos! I just got my X100V....I'm thinking about getting either the Cinebloom filter from Moment or the Black Pro Mist from Tiffen. Are all these photos taken with the filter as well?
A lot of these are taken with cinebloom or Glimmerglass but not all. I have several videos on my channel though that are exclusively shot on those filters
Great video and beautiful shots as always! I’ll DM you my notes later, one question. Are these recipes more like baking or cooking? You know what I mean?
Great video, love the portra myself. Hope Fujifilm fixes the Clarity-lag situation in a future firmware update... Very annoying for any kind of street photography or documentary work where I need to work fast
Really nice video. If I could suggest some feedback? I personally felt the music a bit stressful and fast. Also, I wasn't sure what pictures were part of what film simulation category at times. And the random videos felt uneeded. Less is more. music and visually speaking. Keep up the good videos.
Man this is awesome! Love your work 🎉 Never tried die Kodak Ultramax, but now I have to 😂 For some video parts you used the Fuji right? Do you use a Gimbal as well? Keep up the good work 🙏🏽
Thank you!!! This one has video from all different cameras over the years but no gimbal in any. In my Glimmerglass video on my channel you’ll see a lot of Fuji x100v without gimbal
I keep seeing the ISO setting, like “ISO: Auto, up to 6400” but I don’t see an ISO setting along the others in the same menu section. Does this mean I just need to memorize the ISO setting for each simulation I use and input it manually whenever I shoot with said simulation?
It’s just saying you can use it up to 6400 and it retains its “look” I think. The iso doesn’t affect the look but maybe behind 6400 you’ll start to see the ISO digital grain or color noise which might increase the grain look, but I wouldn’t worry about that and instead just try to keep it 6400 or below.
Thank you! The recipe calls for strong grain, but I've definitely been utilizing WEAK and SMALL as I now really use this as my default SOCC recipe 90% of the time.
was the bright kodak recipe straight from the camera or was it edited in lightroom? not sure why noone talks about that recipe but its my fav by far that ive seen
Great recipe collection and shots! Will definitely try some of these. Do you prefer the regular Portra 400 over Porter 400 v2? Btw great synth melodies too!
No unfortunately you can’t use the recipes in video mode on the Fuji. You can only use the base film simulation but not all the other aspects (at least that’s my understanding). Video was shot with all kinds of different cameras and settings for this one.
All are jpeg. About half are SOCC but half I selected using the fuji raw studio to showcase my favorite recipes after a few years, but it uses the camera to process photos so would be equivalent to SOCC (straight out of camera)
This one has videos shot on mostly a variety of Sony Cameras. But 2 of my 4 most recent videos were almost entirely shot on X100V if you're curious how that video looks - X100V in Vegas and the Glimmerglass Video
this kodak portra 400 recipe looks like regular astia or whatever but nothing even close to portra film, try portra 160 - it's much closer to the portra 400 film
Haha I love classic neg! Use it when I shoot raw and select my Fuji film simulation in post in Lightroom. But haven’t seen a lot of recipes that make use of it 🤔 wonder why that is
Zerohour was nice. Fujiweekly recipes are generally terrible. They're all the same and needlessly force in classic chrome or classic neg where it doesn't belong. Ultramax is known for being yellow and blue, not red and cyan. Portra is pastel not hard and hazy. The only time they get even in the ball park of the right colour is for Kodachrome. Everything else is just a bad white balance.
Dude you need to release your music it is SO good
