Fantastic job I Re focus my CD Players in a similar way.. just a little tip from my side get a 74 minutes CD with some marks and a Japan 1st prees from your favorite album test and enjoy 😉
Hi, i have the same cd player. But no display and the front panel controls also not working. I changed the ceramic oscillator. Nearby the main processor no change . I have a similar cd player. I swapped this front panel with other cd player.the display and panel switches works.i need your advice. Thanks
@@whatcouldgowrong7914 You do NOT need amplification to drive a high impedance input on valves ......thery are not current driven but voltage driven ....( no SS equals a good valve .... for music reproduction ) And also no need of a filter when using an OPT.......in case of the D107u.
Yikes, phenolic PCB? They could at least have gone for two layer FR-4 or something. I remember seeing this player in a stores and admiring the absurdity of seeing tubes in a CD player, loved it immediately.
Hi could you please do a tutorial for how to rebias after changing tubes? I got myself 2nd hand Stax srm- T1 and i want to change tubes but couldn't find any guide on RUclips.
No they are an integral part of the amplifier design but tubes themselves don’t have a “sound” as such. Its the overall design and the output transformers that are in traditional tube amplifiers

Removing the opamps was a good decision ..........for this player , even better for the D107u..
I didn’t get to hear it before but I would have liked to try it with new op amps vs removing them

Typical 80s Luxman design unfortunately
