I really liked Frank a lot, in the original game he made Tommy a deal that if could get his family on the plane then he’d lead him to the books and be killed afterwards. In this game he’s apologizing to Tommy for having to be the one! Seemed like a real man of honor
I just realized something: Enio Salieri, Frank Coletti and Marcu Morello are all basically mirrored by Tommy, Sam, and Paulie. Tommy and frank are both very skilled at the life but take no pleasure in it and want to get out, which leads to both of their deaths, where as Marcu and Paulie are both hotheaded and work well on the surface level but neither one of them has any longevity in organized crime, albeit for different reasons, and Sam's cowardice, greed, and self-serving behavior is easily seen within Enio's approach to being a Don. In a way, Enio, Frank, and Marcu are all the predecessors to Tommy, Paulie, and Sam. I really like how the story draws these parallels, even if it was completely unintentional on the part of the writers.
I think mafia games had one thing wrong here, don't get me wrong I played the original soo many times I kow the lines by heart but wasn't mafias code in real life to never go against someones family like yeah kill frank but not his wife or kid? Cause I think at that time they had that type of code. But what I love in the definitive edition is the expressions they are soo good and I think remake is worth to play.
I'm assuming he spared him to show that Tommy isn't just a generic 'live and die for the mafia' type of gangster. He had too much respect for Frank to not shoot him. Plus, Frank technically help Tommy get the books back.
You’re right, family is never hurt or killed. It’s against the rules. A hit wouldn’t be in front of family especially children. It’s only been done on rare occasions like Crazy Joe Gallo, he was killed in front of his family to set an example because he was a loose cannon.
In America no, in the the old country absolutely. The rules are different depending on time and place, considering Frank probably fled back to the old country he was subject to the rules of the place which was familial annihilation. Perhaps to show Salieri was a lot darker than he let on, plus Frank’s betrayal(however justified) cut him on a deeper level than anyone else’s and he wanted him and his family wiped from the face of the earth.
I just noticed something. Frank and his wife have both blue eyes. However, their daughter is brown eyed. So, she's either adopted or March cheated on his husband
Not how genes work. even if both parents carry the gene for blue eyes child can still have brown if both are carriers for brown eyes. this is the same in reverse. If both brown eyed parents are carriers for blue eyes because of their recent ancestors like a grand father or great grand father then they can have blue.
Punnet square time. BB=homozygous dominant(brown eyes), Bb=heterozygous dominant(Brown eyes but carrier for blue), bb=homozygous recessive(blue eyes). Even while being Bb, there’s still a chance your phenotype can end with blue eyes. One of them is heterozygous recessive the other is homozygous recessive, even with a dominant brown eyed gene you can still have blue eyes. April is likely then Bb, she got the dominant brown eyes but still a carrier for blue eyes.
