I love how even in The Sopranos we refer to Michael K. Williams as Omar 😭 such a legend
it got to be Omar, same accent, he just didn't have to carry the shootgun in his own place.

That and being a made man….When your a made man no one can touch you unless you violate omertà or take a shot at another made man. That’s why he got away with talking sh!t about Johnny Sacs wife. Tony never told anyone what he did to Ralph or it would have been his own head for killing a made man over a horse and a whore.
And his great humor
I love Ralphie, he was a sort of Dorian Gray picture to the other guys. The way they felt about Ralphie is the way society at large feels about them.

Ralphie set up a huge chain of events, it was the start of the unravelling relationship with NY, his death gave Vito a bump, then that thing happened, which finally put Carlo as capo... Who then flipped
I feel Tony B directly and indirectly set up the ending of the show.
Hmmm…good argument there….having a rat as a capo does change the game. But it’s worth asking, how MUCH does that actually impact the ending? Of course it matters depending on what you think happens. If Tony goes to jail because If testimony by Carlo…then yes ralphie indirectly helps ensure Tony’s demise. But how likely is this? Tony has gotten away with crimes that used eyewitness-it’s been good luck on his side. We aren’t even sure what exactly Carlo will say if it is Carlo. The most likely outcome is that Tony was killed by a conspiracy of paulie, the New York mob and Patsi. When looking at this outcome, rlaphie didn’t seem to play a major role. Patsi wanted Tony dead after his brother was killed, paulie realized he was never going to be sage with Tony; u could make the case that the crew by the end had lost confidence in Tony. Was any of this related to how no one believed Tony’s cover story about ralphie? Well the video makes the case not really-but u could say it certainly didn’t help Tony. After all, if Tony would kill a valuable asset over s horse, what else isn’t he capable of doing? As for the New York mob, they had bigger issues with Tony. Rlaphie s death may have caused Vito to be promoted who then had his thing which then caused Phil to go berserk-but was NY really upset about how Tony handled Vito initially? In fact, Phil’s actions seemed to make him look unreasonable to everyone else. You also could counter that Vito didn’t impact why phill’s own crew betrayed him. It was the NJ/NY war that caused them to decide to wack Phil (and Tony)
@@bradhorowitz2765 Bud you gotta learn to use paragraphs. Break up that blob of text into some and more people will read it.

Finally a Ralph analysis that doesn't blabber on for 10 minutes about masculinity and crime and other shit than would be blatantly obvious on a first watch.
I freaking loved Ralphie, but "Whoever did this" is probably one of my favorite episodes. He was very engaging to watch, like a trainwreck about to happen. Unhinged and delightful lol
Freaking woman murderer yeah he great ..
I happened to watch "Bound" with Jennifer Tilly and the whole movie I was like "C'mon Ralphie, yet again you're gonna take the fall??"
Whadaya mean he didn't leave much of a footprint?! He was one of Tony's best earners!
Actually all his jobs were given to Vito good ship captain Spatafore
@faisalkamal4319 how ironic is that: Ralphie sleeps with his friends wife and then further enables their son entering the life. Afterwards, his friend's cousin takes over his rackets upon his death
I wonder if anyone else has ever noticed all the parallels between Ralph's first and final appearances:
In Ralph's first appearance, Tony is grieving the recent death of his mother.
In Ralph's final appearance, it's Ralph who is grieving the recent injury to his son.
In Ralph's first scene, he visits Tony in the latter's home while Tony is underdressed.
In Ralph's last scene, Tony comes to visit Ralph in *his* home while Ralph is underdressed.
Ralph visits Tony on an overcast summer day.
Tony visits Ralph on a sunny winter day.
Their first conversation is about Ralph setting fires.
Their final conversation is also about Ralph setting a fire.
Their first conversation is also about the subject of Ralph's possible promotion to captain.
Tony's last conversation regarding Ralph likewise concerns Ralph's status as a captain--namely, him and Christopher discussing how Tony has just killed a captain without having a sit-down with the other captains first.
Tony and Ralph's first conversation takes place by Tony's swimming pool.
After Tony kills Ralph, he puts Ralph in his own bathtub and later buries him in a flooded quarry.
What else am I missing?
That is a great observation, especially about how the first conversation being about no more fires and then Tony killing Ralph over setting a fire.
Definitely one of the best characters, basically every scene with him was golden. Really would’ve been interesting to see how he would’ve faired in later seasons, especially the end of 6. Would he have turned? Or gone crazy and caught a shit ton of bodies
People like that don't survive very long

@trapcorleone4321 even if the Mafia underworld, it's like Jackie Sr. was Tony's angel and Ralphie was his devil
Ralphie’s lasting legacy was Tony’s money problems that got him killed.
Actually tony spends alot of his money on mansion ,boats and gambling
@@faisalkamal4319 Tony had a lot of that money to throw around when Ralphie, and then Vito, were still alive. They made him a ton of cash. Once they were gone he continued gambling but had to borrow the 200k from Hesh and wasn't being paid nearly as much from this promotion of Carlo to the Esplanade. This is also the reason that Tony tells Carlo that he needs to "shuck a cock instead of watching TV land"..which is a line is like to incorporate more into everyday conversation
@@faisalkamal4319 yea but Ralph was one of the biggest earners in his family. "10 million a year off construction" Ralph said, and Tony didn't correct him. When Ralph died, and then Vito died, that was part of a chain of events that left Tony without a significant part of his organization's cash flow. As vile as he was, Ralph was one of the most interesting characters on the show and was killed off too soon. It would have been interesting to see if he would have changed his ways after his son was in the hospital, as the seemed to hint at it, but then he was killed.

He left a pretty major legacy. His Ginny joke started the discord between NY and NJ. Johnny never really viewed NJ the same way again. This was a problem because he eventually became Boss. The discord eventually became war. Ralph wasn’t the sole reason, but Ralph telling the joke and Paulie snitching to Johnnie about it got the ball rolling. Toney questioned Paulie’s role in it and almost killed him over it. Paulie was already latently disloyal and the scare with death gave him more reasons to betray him at fhe end of the show. Also Toney’s killing Ralph over the horse also caused some of the captains and crew to start questioning his leadership. There had been some questions before but they were concerned Toney wasn’t totally stable and could kill them over a trivial issue. It was a misperception because Toney really killed Ralph over Tracie. His delay in getting rid of him made it seem it was over a horse when it was really for a bigger reason. However it created a perception and he didn’t have as much trust with his captains as before. Ralph’s legacy was actually fairly pivotal. Though there was other reasons behind the war with NY, the Ginny Sack joke got the ball rolling. He was in some respect the bridge between the more innocent, upbeat seasons of the Sopranos to the darker, war years of last seasons of the Sopranos.
Great analysis. I suspect Johnny overheard the guys joking about Ginny at the Bing but played dumb. His greed outweighed his rage until Paulie tipped him off about Ralph’s joke. That sent him into a fury, tearing open the old wound, and Ralph became a scapegoat
He was my favorite guy

If there is 1 rule in organized crime that 99% will work every time. Be able to make other people a lot of money constantly. As long as your able to do that, most of the time you’ll be good.
And guys who owe significant money and are perceived as being likely to pay it off, often are allowed to live (requests for the guy to be hit denied at sit downs) at least until they pay off said debt.
Ralph and Phil were some of the best villains of any show. You loved seeing them on screen and yet rejoice when they get their deserts.
Well, you know, since Sopranos is about the non-redemption of its characters, you could argue that no character leaves as much of a consequence as you might otherwise expect. Like, even Ade is sort of insignificant on terms of the great scheme of things, outside of Christopher being kinda sad here and there. Ralphie is maybe the most significant in terms of group dynamic, because his death showed the Crew that made men aren't safe from Tony, which probably seals his own fate at the end. But in terms of emotional development, the whole series is about the non-effect of destroyed lives.
Remember almost everyone in the Saprano Crew are Related by Family..and they cheat Lie and Kill each other over money.
Moreover their conflicts are real life issues that Family encounter
Death has its Glory of Inheritance .. To the cunning goes the Power..
And the Next Target
Tracee was a who-are
Ralphie Cifaretto never had the makings of a Roman Emperor
Next to chris and furio,i adore ralphie lol he's the kinda guy I'd hang with.
Love the thumbnail, great jokes also
Tony B had the twins. Ralphie just had Justy, I believe.
He was my favorite character. Killed off too soon. His insecurities and vulnerability was like a younger junior soprano
Aside from being the murder that got people to start questioning T, his horrible effects on the women in his life, and the adding of tensions with NY (these things never really go away, they mostly just pile on to a situation that goes back and forth between cold and hot), I'd say his main contribution seems to be taking the families construction empire up a few notches. It's made pretty clear on several occasions that the boost in family profits isn't just due to the new ventures with NY and that he has a central role in it. Those increased profits and turning that crew into the most profitable left an impact that we'd see play out later with Vito and other lines.
John would have killed as soon as he became boss
One thing I’ve pondered: it wouldn’t be out of character for Ralphie to want Jackie out of the house so that he can have Rose for himself. Could Jackie have told the card game story to deliberately set him up for a whacking. He knew that Jackie would most certainly botch the job. Thoughts?
Ralphie's main legacy was the Aprille crew and the Esplanade project. He made the fiomer a far more successful crew than Gigi could ever come close to doing and even improved on the record of the crew's founder, Richie Aorille and at least equalled Jackie Aprille's record.
And though Vito Spatafore through his hard work managed to exceed Ralph's success, he did so by building on Ralph's own success, Vito succeeded by standing on tbe shoulders of the giant that was Ralph Cifaretto.
And Ralph's hard work and devotion to the Esplanade ptoject turned it into the money machine it remained throughout the entirety of the series, making vast sums of money for not only the New Jersey family but New York as well. . .
He went out because it was the straw that broke the Camel’s back. Always how it is with guys like him. It’s not ONE big thing they did, it’s a culmination of little events
He was the one that stands most out, others are what you would expect and he was more like a stand up comedian than a mobster.
Tony overlooked it cause he was a top earner but anybody notice Ralph broke a mob rule: slept with his friend/associates wife? Notice also that Ro was a chronic smoker, something that usually causes cancer. It's as if Ro and Ralphie represents what could drive Jackie Sr. to death
This was a great video my favorite character right next to Johnny sack
Johnny's mine too.
I belong to the Paulie walnuts School of thinking on this one,
The levels of disrespect he showed to that many made guys,
He would have ended up having an accident one day or the other
fact check for 4:31, he was killed by some black guys, he was selling ecstasy
the reason he did not left much legacy is also part of the deal he struck with agent Smith in the Matrix.
One weakness in the writing of The Sopranos, we're TOLD over and over again that characters like Ralph or Vito are 'good earners' but we're never actually SHOWN that they're incompetent socially on screen but somehow very competent at cash flow, and so I never really buy it.
I love clerks. My favorite part of the movie .

Janice pimped Ralph out he never had the makings of a varsity athlete
Ginny was snacking in the basement
Ralph was the man. its a shame he didnt last alot longer.. I loved when he clipped his toenail into Janice’s face.lmao
I think he’s a truly sick individual as a person. He’s very much into sadism and masochism not just sexually but in his treatment of others in everyday life. He’s truly a sociopath that feels no empathy. The only thing that truly got to him emotionally was his son’s tragic accident. Which, frankly surprised me. Even though I personally think there is an emotional biological bond that strongly connects parents & children. Some people are clearly too mentally & emotionally sick to feel it or treat it like it’s precious. But, apparently Ralph did. It was only then that Ralph had feelings of wanting to change until Tony brought up Valentina.
He kept the show moving! I loved to hate him!
Nice clerks splice!

The truth is, most mobsters act like Ralph. He would be normal if this was real life. Well, with less money.
Ralphie seems to really understand and call out Tony for what he is. And personally however much I despise Ralphie I don't think he burned down the stable.
“In a row”🤣🤣🤣
Omar’s place😂😂
Ralphie doesn't have twins, the was Tony B. The kid that shot Ralphies son with the arrow was a friend.
The question could be, what would his impact have been if he had been able to play the game a little better and gain power in NJ (or NY) instead of alienating everyone above him. It's kind of a scary thought.
I think your over lookinga few things about Jackie Jr. He wasn;t stupid, he just didn't have Tonys blessing to enter the life, this ended up being a curse.
I honestly think Tony would have been better off telling his crew he ended up killing Ralphie cause he was a piece of shit no one liked, and he had it coming. I mean whether it was about the horse, Tracy, his history of insults, or whatever, the truth is Ralph was gonna wind up dead because of some bullshit he pulled. It would have been better for Tony to admit this instead of casting doubt by implying New York had something to do with it. This was the point where his crew started to realize he was not trustworthy as a boss.
I have a feeling you don't really have a solid grasp of what the mafia is.
if Tony can get away with killing a made guy because he perceives the made guy to be a piece of shit then everyone in the Mafia is going to live in fear of getting killed by their own boss over nothing. Every Capo would band together to oust him.
Don't kill your earners without a back up plan
Great fucking acting 🎭
The Sopranos- brought to you by Snapple
I think Ralph legit changed toward the end of his last episode and would have been a reformed man (well by mob standards) had he lived. He would have still been an evil mobster and all that entails, but he would have quit all the crazy stuff - the coke, the nastiness, cruelty, all the crazy violence (the gladiator stuff, killing hooahs etc). Tony has a dream in a later episode where he sees bald Ralph in his car with a caterpillar crawling on his bald head, wondering if this means he killed Ralph just as he changed into a butterfly.
Or just before he could change.
Love how he says whore.
Tracy wasn't a sympathetic character. She los custody of her first kid because she was burning them with cigarettes
And that justified killing her, right?
@@KittySnicker no, I just said she wasn't a sympathetic character because of that.

he was unironically my favourite character, i really disliked that he killed that girl :(
Since Ralph died tony lost his ability to fight the New York guys cause ralph was his last top earner and tony killed all his other earners. So when he does this is when tony is forced to accepted Vito even tho he is gay because the family wasn’t earning nearly enough to handle all their beef. So Ralphy dying pretty much was the final nail in the coffin for tony. Because all he had left was vito and Vito was gay which angered New York
Vito was a good earner too.
I kind of like him. He doesn't pretend to be a good guy

It's never really shown for certain how the fire that caused Pie oh my's death occurred - but whether it was due to Ralph burning it for the insurance money, or a real accident, it's a pity Tony killed Ralph in season 4. Ralph would have been an asset in the war with New York and it would have been hilarious to see his interactions with Tony Blundetto and Feech La Manna
David Chase says Ralphie killed the horse
I’m honestly thought Paulie killed that horse because he just hated Ralph so much
I talked to Joe at a convention, he said he didn't kill the horse. But chasing down the Goonies has an effect on people
Was it actually Ralph child or no?
It was but he lied
My take:
Tracy was not carrying Ralphie's baby. We know what Janice said. You showed what Rosalie said. Ralph even said he knew it wasn't his baby. I am of the thought part of the reason Ralphie killed Tracy was she was lying about that being his baby - knowing he couldn't publicly dismiss it.
I find it jives better with the rest of the show's writing that he was telling the truth - it wasn't his baby - and he was the same guy the whole time, rather than any event changed him.
You're wrong..it shows ralphie having sex with Tracy with the cop at the Bing...not to mention he already has a kid so Ralph could close the deal if need be
He’s still a piece of shit for killing her
We know he was interested in *penisary contact with someone's volvo*
He was trying to be a good father to Jackie Jr? I think the point of the Jackie Jr story was less about Jackie Jr and more from a parental View if a kid doesn't have anyone around to steer them in a positive direction he's going to go in a negative Direction especially when it's all around him. The path of least resistance
