This is absolutely incredible. Gave me chills to see him pull the cross, lean it up. And the nails and the sound. Cant help but cry, and give thanks. He gave his only son, for us. Knowing that this was his end. Glory to God. For he is my King ❤❤❤

I don't know how to explain how I feel right now. When he nailed those nails into the cross the tears began to flow, and all I could think was "I'm so sorry, Jesus. I am so sorry that you had to go through this for me. Your word says that if I had been the only one, you would have still suffered and died for me. I'm not worthy of that Lord. So many others have done so much more in this life than I ever will. I'm not worthy. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry it had to be this way". Thank you for sharing this with us, Granger and Amber. It will stick with me for a long time. God bless!

My brother built an area near his open pavillion where our entire family, aunts, uncles , cousins, brothers , sisters etc gathered every year for a family reuniion . We all gathered around the cross, took turns speaking from our hearts and remembering all those who have passed. We held hands and prayed. It was so beautiful. I see the cross as a reminder of the sacrifice made for all men. It's a place where everyone devoted to the Lord can pray and give thanks for all "HE'S" done for us. I think this is beautiful Granger. May God bless you and your family.

I thought it might be a good idea to put a piece of fabric draped over the arms of the cross on Good Friday and remove them at the end of the day on Easter. Not in celebration but in remembrance. Anyone who loves our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ could not possibly find fault with this beautiful jester remembering his love for us and what he did to save us. I got chills when the cross was going up, I winced when he hammered the nails into it, and I cried a little, knowing what it means. I wear a cross that my brother gave me, and I wore it when I got baptized. I wear it in remembrance of my Lord and Savior. I love the cross in what it represents and also so I never forget what He did for me. He saved me, and He loved me that much. No one can ever love us that much. But He did. Yes, I think that cross is going to be such a wonderful thing to have as anyone looks apon it and knows what it represents. Awesome job by the man who built it and then found the nails that were so powerful when he nailed them in. I love where it is, and that day was perfect, including the storm. What is the difference in idolization and worship? It’s crazy that two things that are polar opposites can be so confusing. The church that I was raised in, assumed that all crucifix’s where a means to idolization. So for years I have struggled to make that separation. I believe the explanation/justification of the cross “yard ornament”. If you view the cross in a place of reverence, and/or an opportunity to reach others, then how can it be wrong? Thank you Granger for your insight.

I found your comments on the symbolism/meaning of the cross verses making it an Idol very insightful. My husband and I many years ago removed Christian symbols like the fish, and like the cross out of our home.
We were just discussing this thought pattern today actually. Talking about how the golden calf was put into the Jews alternative place of worship. How they began to worship the golden calf. Which was the sacrifice (calf sacrificed for their atonement).
So I see your hesitation in placing the cross.
It’s not the atonement we are to worship. It’s the one who provided the atonement, the one who gave his son, the one who gave his life, the Holy spirit that cry’s out for us.
It’s the 3 in one we are to worship not the symbol /Idol of the sacrifice.
Thank you for speaking truth many people miss this understanding!!

That is a cool cross! Be cool to get wire and hang it between the trees up in the air, especially where the sunrises or sets. Intense area right there, an area when you've needed to take a moment from your day to just breath, this is it.

I think a fun addition to the cross could be some rock pavers beneath it where you could kneel/pray

If I ever had the privilege of being in front of that cross, I'd be on my knees probably crying, remembering His sacrifice for me. I think of a cross in a holy sanctuary being like the cup and the bread that we take in communion. I partake of these things in remembrance of Him.

I don't know why but this is making me cry. My favorite song is "Amazing Grace" and I cry every time I hear it. That is what this is doing to me. Wow!

You need to have a replica of an empty tomb made next, a perfect place for prayer, and listening to the Holy Spirit...I love it, made me cry.

This is totally awesome! I agree it is fine if you don’t make it into an idol. It is definitely a very peaceful place. The stone bench is beautiful.

Wow! That's a beautiful cross! I think you put that in the perfect spot and putting the bench by the trees as well. It looks so peaceful.

It makes me think of when we do communion. We do this in remembrance of Him. This is also remembering what HE did for us. It is good for us to think of that amazing, loving, life giving sacrifice. God knows your heart.

The cross is not wrong I have a cross on my property. I had some great friends of mine and my husbands who lost their home to a house fire in November. The next day after their fire, they came out to my house the house owner saw our cross and it was such a blessing to them. You do not know who it is going to inspire.

Granger, last Sunday I went with siblings to Leavenworth National Cemetery to say goodbye to our oldest brother, who died in April and was buried before we even knew. It wasn't my first visit to a National Cemetery, but the first to Leavenworth. When we rounded the curve and started seeing stones, I was humbled once again, knowing that at one time or another, those soldiers fought for my freedom.
I see your cross in a similar manner, but magnified. Jesus died for not only my freedom, but that of all humankind. The sight of that cross SHOULD humble everyone who encounters it, and it should bring peace to the heart knowing what it signifies.
