Props bro! Had to drop a like! Thank u so much for listing the parts that you picked up to complete this job I’ll be watching this on repeat for the next month until I work up the confidence to replace the engine on my 05 Tahoe 😂
I am currently contemplating to rebuild or replace the engine in my 2013 Suburban. I can not believe I found metal glitter in my oil at 140,000. Who do recommend getting a motor from?
I'm looking into to rebuilding my 2010 tahoes engine. I've had it since 2014 I bought it with right at 90,000 miles on it. As of today 6 November 2022 I have 226,000 miles on it still running great. I havnt had any major issues just regular maintenance. Imma go for 300,000+ miles then tear it down. Luckily I havnt had any issues with my transmission either. I did have my transfer case go bad. Bought a used one put it and everything is going good
Sincerely appreciate you doing this video and mentioning the engine price. i found a 2008 Yukon xl with 242k miles, but it was tight and well maintained. The engine stopped one day at a traffic light and the shop that got it wanted to charge me $10,000 for a used motor swap. I opted for a new timing chain and oil pump (made sure they did the o ring) and that cost me 3200. I got it towed home and after charging the battery, it still didn't engage the flywheel when I tried to start it. I'm getting killed on this $6000 purchase, but I think I'm going to find a different mechanic to see what he says the problem is. $1300 for a motor. sheesh. I was thinking two grand, but still 10k. Glad I didn't let him change that one. I may just work on it myself. Worst case I'd need heads.
Tight squeeze to get the bolts, they are very shallow and you have to constantly turn the crank to get to the next bolt. Being so shallow, it’s easy to slip the socket and ruin the bolt; so be careful
I have forgotten. I know I was having trouble and there was a bolt directly on top of the bell housing, which you can get to by going between the motor and the firewall. Beyond that, it was semi difficult pulling the bell housing off the motor. Had to use a prybar, I believe
Wow, this was more difficult then I expected. I tried my best to show everything, but that just didn’t happen. However, this should still help guide you through the engine swap. I’ll add the links soon 🙏
Just the Vid I needed! Shop wants $7,650 to do a Engine Swap on my 07 Yukon Denali XL with the 6.2LV8 This video made it seem easy if you take your time. My Lifter broke in the Motor Reason for Motor swap time!
That’s awesome man. The issue with this engine was also a lifter. If I knew that then I would have just removed the heads and replaced the lifter and cam. Would have been much cheaper and less labor intensive. The LS engine is one of the easier engines to take apart. I have a video of me tearing into the engine if you want to check it out. Either way, I wish you luck man
@@AutoMotivate Hope a Motor swap is needed cause Ive been also dealing with Stalling issues when coming to a stop. Got so bad, I had to Press Brake and Gas at same time to keep from stalling. Thanks for the Video and Fuck H.O.A And their stupid rules lol
Take your time, watch RUclips videos and be patient. The hardest part is removing the flywheel from the converter so be sure you have quality tools for that job.
Nice Video..👍 Can u please tell how mch time did you take orignally to get this complete work done ,from removing ,and putting new engine in the car if you would work continuously.....please...
Thank you! It was a bit hard. Having a friend to help with the process, I think you can get it done in 1 full day with zero hiccups, proper tools, and with this video guiding you. However, in my case, not including working on the other engine, I think it took probably 20-25 hours. The total amount of footage I had was around 15 hours. The putting back to get her took a while, but it was much quicker, especially since I didn’t record. Torquing down the converter with the flex plate took a while and proved to be the most difficult in my case.
Damn bro that was a good video. I have the same Tahoe like yours Ltz and it's been in my driveway for a year now. My mechanic took out the engine and came with a same engine but the sensors are located on the top instead on the sides and he said his gonna make it work. Is that gonna be an issue with the performance of the Tahoe?
I have an 07 same exact truck..has afm and has stuck lifter..140.000 miles..I can change lifters to regular ones and lifter trays..new head gaskets, new head bolts...but you have to change the cam..so then oil pump, timing chain, gaskets..... UGG....junkyard has 2005 lm7 5.3 for 450$...160.000 on it....he's a friend....then u can get low lift cam and not have to change springs...cam swap is easy on ls....don't have to take heads off....but still timing and oil pump,,o ring....a must like he says....or just have it swapped...1200-1400...either way it's 2 grand or more....it's a pain to do like this but these guys did great job...I'm debating ????? Or can go buy a 6.0 w 360 hp on craigslist or junkyard and just put that in...3000 g buy the time it's done....it all sucks....but gotta be done....now it's just a budget thing because I have no fkn money because my everything cost so much.....think I'm going to just do myself....can take out, clean it up take down to heads and block,..o ring,.new gaskets ,paint....then its a 1000.…
yeah that is why I would never live in an HOA community. All the stupid rules and regulations, and the stuff they tell you that you can or cannot do to your own house just blows my mind.
Don't understand why you left out pulling it out and putting it in. Totally frustrating and waste of time to watch this when you're trying to learn how to do it yourself.
I literally showed me removing it and placing it back in. Every tiny detail can not always be recorded in a drive way and a time crunch. Ive already had loads of folks saying it helped them out. Be confident and you can do it
That's because his intent isn't to create a how-to video; his intent is to act like he swapped an engine and look cool, you know, the look at me social media generation lol what a joke.

Dury dingo? Did you make that or buy it? Where did you buy it?
Thank you bro! Having to do this soon. My piston rings on one of the cylinders broke. Low compression. 😢
Are you sure they broke? What motor is it?
Good video, I have to do mine here shortly along with the rear differential. Hope you made it through Hurricane Ian safely

How much does this service run a estimate. I was just told I need a new engine my 2008 Chevy Tahoe has over 200,000 miles
