Really good talk actually. Sad that some people cloud their judgement of him over Iraq, as he is quite right to see mental health as something that needs conciousness raising.
What about the mental health of Iraqis he sure didn’t give a crap about that. Sorry but warmongering is pretty damn unforgivable. he’ll be known as the slime ball he is for the rest of his days
@@MCshlthead Fair perspective. Can't equate everything else he says to zero though. I imagine it tortures him - nothing quite so tragic as a battle lost than a battle won.
I think he's an incredibly intellegent, thoughtful man who is trying to make a massive difference. I understand if you don't agree with his work for tony blair; but don't forget that was his job, and give him credit for his fantastic work helping end the stigma around mental health
@@pregerzoreo4886 his lies led to the illegal invasion of a country, more than a million deaths, millions more displaced as refugees, the rate of birth deformities in the country rising 300%, and last but no means least the creation of international terrorism in the form of ISIS. Somehow my objecting to these atrocities makes me a 'conservative'?
This is an amazing talk. Reminds me so much of my dad. He had quite severe mental health issues including bipolar, but was so intelligent and a very senior doctor. Massively popular socially and massively productive for at least 11 months of the year. I wish we could just accept everything / everyone and learn to work with issues rather than against them.
He is a very bad person in the political context. He above any other influential person of his generation produced the on message, glib, need to know back biting Parliamentary culture we see today. Campbell was also a notorious bully in his work. Bad guy.
Another once high profile person jumping on the mental health bandwagon???? He was adviser to Tony Blair, is he now trying to get himself back in the media in a better way, what a load of old crap. He was a real piece of work when in Blair's cabinet??? He did not care about the general public then, or what he did!
if that’s what you think then you’re a bloody blind idiot. He had a mental breakdown, and this is him speaking on his experience. Did he work is ass off to the point of a mental breakdown for himself??? he’s a not a perfect person and i don’t agree with him on iraq, but people need to stop being so fucking black and white on his work.
Johann Hari is another " mental health " campaigner who was a bad actor in journalism. Campbell's bullying and machievellian tactics are of a higher division. He produced the crap political landscape we inhabit today.

He's the enemy of the people, fame hungry pig.
What a load of crap.

Brilliant man
This one of the few political figures I can listen to
Very interesting
Excellent Alistair campbell.

I'd also struggle with my mental health if I was a major reason that a nation went to war, based on lies, where hundreds of thousands of people died.
spot the war crim! BLESS!
