  • Rongo was the first multihull to cross the North Atlantic from West to East in September 1959. She was built in Trinidad and sailed by James Wharram and his two German companions, Ruth Merseburger and Jutta Schultze Rohnhof first to New York and from there across the Atlantic to Ireland and North Wales. Rongo was the first multihull to make this voyage.
To celebrate this epic event we have prepared a limited edition (of 60, one for each year) set of Building Plans, beautifully drawn in 1960 by Jutta Schultze Rohnhof. The box set also includes a 58 page A4 size photo book with unique photos of the building , voyages and the whole life of Rongo, many of which have never been published before. Also included is another book of articles from Yacht magazines and newspapers about Rongo's three Atlantic voyages and a signed copy of James Wharram's book Two Girls Two Catamarans, recounting his first pioneering voyages by catamaran.
This video shows the contents of the Limited Edition box set. There will be just 60 sets, so order yours now. www.wharram.com/shop/limited-...
