Great find! In 45 years of driving I have only ever purchased three brand new vehicles. My very first was a 1987 CRX Si (in red). CRX's had always managed to catch my eye back in the day, but when Honda released the Si version my interest level went way up. It was such a great, fun car. I can also remember laying eyes on the 2nd gen CRX Si for the first time at the Dallas Auto Show. That car was bright yellow. Though it's a shame that most of these cars were driven to death, it's nice to know that there are still a few around. Even better is that some of these cars, like this one, are being preserved in unmolested form.
@@OhYeahAboutThat By the way, I watched the other videos that you posted of the work you've done on your CRX. It looks like you are doing a great job while also being very sensical about things.
I’ve got a ‘90 red one and this one is about as pristine as I’ve seen. Especially that cargo cover and lack of rust on the sunroof. Score, you pretty fortunate there.
I love it! I drove these things at a dealership when they were almost new. I always loved the look and feel of these. I love old Civics and the CRX was the cool version, well until the Del Sol.
Be very careful with the paint - I had an '89 almost exactly like yours (same color) except mine did not have AC (in 1989 it wasn't a factory option only dealer installed) I remember almost burning through the paint in '91 with a 12v orbital buffer (old school). The gap in the hood (body line) I remember were bad even when new/close to new... To say I'm jealous is an understatement! I sold/traded mine when the drive home in 90 degree and 100% humidity weather was too much to deal with. I bought a '94 Saturn SC2 but missed the CRX Si for years (even still).
Oh yeah, for sure! About half of this car has been repainted (and parts need to be done again.) The roof is THIN for sure. I've already repainted some of this car (not on camera) and it looks better...still have work to do. I'm so glad my AC works in this car!!
Is the Alpine CD for sale ? I have a gew new OEM timing cover decals and ebtire new in box rear interior panels and compartments. Also have a new oem sunroof panel, window moldings and center shifter console. Bougth it all years ago... Also have new OEM mats.
2nd gen is much better for daily driving. Just sold one of my two SI's, nowhere as clean as yours'. My original engine in one of them (d16a6) died at 285k and was clearly abused by many.. enjoy that gem!
Congratulations! I think I know who you bought this from. What type of videos will you be doing on this car? Can't wait to follow along all the little stuff you plan to do.
Thanks! I already received the CRX decals I bought from you last week! This was a car very local to me, here in SoCal. However, it did spend some time not too far from you. Factory restoration is my goal with this one! It’ll match my 89 Prelude Si.

Thank you! I plan to finish some details this coming year. This car is pretty much 100% stock and it’s going to stay that way!

Thanks! I just took the sunroof apart and was very happy to find zero rust underneath!

Yes! I did the same!
Updates ASAP!!! CRX Si is my absolute favorite car EVER!!!
Oh damnnnn. You finally got one. Haven’t even watched it yet but amazing.
Ha ha, yes! I’m glad I found one!
New subscriber! I love watching these Honda restoration videos. The YT algorithm made a good recommendation.
Ha ha, awesome! Sometimes the algorithm even recommends my own videos to me! Lol
One of my all time favorite Honda, can't wait to see what you do to it!
Mine too! Mostly just TLC and making it as close to stock as possible.
Looking forward to the progress 👍🏼
That's one clean CRX - I had an '89 Si in Rio Red as well. This looks like it needs just enough minor things to make it a fun project!
Yes, thank you!

Awesome! I’ve had the Prelude for years and always wanted a CRX.
Red CRX’s are my favorite!
Now you know why I asked about the stereo!!
I have a red 91 CRX SI in decent shape wonder what its worth.
Wow there's hardly anything to do to that car. What a great find.
Looks are deceiving! I promise there’s plenty to do!

Beautiful Crx are you planning on removing the tint or keeping it to preserve the interior
Thank you! I will likely keep the tint, but the car is garaged and won’t see constant sun.
@@OhYeahAboutThat then fish bowl it is!
was that the one on offerup in Redlands?
No. It was a private sale that wasn’t advertised.
Bought one new in 89 paid 8500.00 for it out the door. Mine was the white dx model. How much did you pay for it? Nice find.
Thank you! I paid a decent price. Let’s just say it was nearly the MSRP when new!
I love this project. Have you checked out crxseth?
Awesome pick up! How much did you get that gem for?
Thank you! The seller asked me not to reveal that, but it was a fair price. Sorry for the BS response!
Put in a new OEM shift knob...
Yah , whats the value on these today
Anywhere from $3,500 to $40,000. They are no longer cheap!
