"Oh my gosh this shock is amazing!" HAH I screamed the same sentence just the other day trying out the EXT Arma on my Talaria Sting. I haven't ridden my mountain bike at all this Summer since I got my E-moto. Shame, I know ... I've decided that next summer I have to do one mtn bike ride for every e-moto ride 🙂 Thanks for the laugh!
Most of this is filmed in the chuckanuts area! Some of it is the brown pow area at north lake whatcom and some other is from darrington I think. I agree the quality is dialed!
When are you getting your Era? Been thinking of taking the plunge to try and get the front of my Forbidden Druid feeling as good as the rear, and saw your comment on EXT's page :)
Hopefully soon it’s shipping from Italy this week I heard! I’m excited :) I’ll be doing a review after I ride it for a while. I’ve only heard good things in the review though!
People keep saying that when mounting a coil shock the bike lacks a lot of pop. I would disagree. Mounting the Storia made my bike even poppier. You should've warned the people of the sound of the shock. It's far from quiet but who cares.
I agree the Storia is plenty poppy. Yes you are right, I should've included that this shock is a heavy breather and makes a lot of noises. My hub noise often covers mine up so I don't mind!
do you have regular bearings or do you have spherical bearings? I have a Nicolai/Geometron G1 which comes with this shock, with spherical bearings, and this will improve the shock's performance under heavy loads, when frame flex, it reduces binding. this video shows a spherical bearing in action: fb.watch/1c1UJxXQ1t/
@@FifeFlow they make a huge difference much smoother action on the shock eyelets. but I haven't tested it with and with head to head. but I've seen comparison vids, not of this shock but Push eleven six, nylon bushings have more resistance, than a regular bearing, needle bearing, but a spherical bearing is even better as it is better with side loads.
I'm going to look into that, I was going to give up on coils, being I'm 240 pounds and no one would make a progressive 650 pound spring. With this it sounds like there shouldn't be a harsh bottom out! Thanks didn't even know about that shock.
I am glad you liked the review! Definitely look into them. My husband is 220 lbs and had a similar issue, He was running a 550 on his push shock and it still felt too soft and he now has a 450 ( the lighter of the springs they sent) on his EXT storia and says it feels more sporty and supportive. I am currently making a video comparing heavy vs lightweight riders on this shock so stay tuned!
Hey there! I’m the husband and this is your answer. I’ve used progressive springs before to some success but honestly didn’t love it (sb150) as they started too soft. This bottom out is super sweet. The calving is dialed and using a soft spring feels great for steeps and traction and throw on the other (2 in the box) for the bike park and big hits. I’m confident that you’ll love it based on my experience. On the same frame I’ve had a push, super deluxe ult, float x2 and this is by far my favorite. Hopefully that helps!
Running CC IL Coil On my CF Warden running 450/550 Valt Spring TOTALLY Changed the my bike RUNS WAY BETTER . Have been at Whistler 3X this month so far going up Oct 1 last X of the Yr . .... I'll NEVER Run An Air Shock Again 😎
Are you and your boyfriend using the same coil spring that they recommended ? Or did you go higher rate coil spring ? I have heared the coil spring that ext has is a bit soft.
So they send two coils ( different rates) with each shock. Both me and my husband use the lighter of the two! Suspension syndicate ( the EXT USA dealer) is rad and great to work with so if your spring was not to your liking they would 99% send you a different one. I don’t think you’d have that issue though. 😄
Such a sick looking shock!

Great review. Giving me coil envy...
What trail were you were riding? Was it at Galbraith? Loved the video, keep up the quality content!
I was just about to ask the same question lol..
It was all over some were on Galby ( cougar ridge) and the Chuckanuts too!

Thanks Alicia 👊🏼
Nicely done video :)
Thank you 🙂
Did you check out PUSH before you purchased the EXT? If so, why did you go with EXT?

I was debating between Ext and P11.6 and riding with Onyx hubs my choice came clear. Thanks, and happy ride! 🙃
You made popping over those roots look so effortless!
Thanks! It’s a fun poppy section of trail 😝

You making me strongly considering that shock for my next build! Great job on showing what it's about 🤘
Anytime Ryan 😛
Nicely done and probably the best review on this shock. I am more convinced on getting one.

That is crazy I’ve never seen that kind of bearing! I just have a normal bearings 🙂

I can see how it would help a lot. That’s rad 🤘🏼
Looks dope. Sign me up
I’m coil for life now after this that’s for sure 👊🏼
